A Leaderboard of 2013’s First-Rounders, Already
The Purpose of This Post
The purpose of this post, mostly, is to alert the readership to how — with the recent commencement of certain Low-A and Rookie-level leagues — how a small collection of 2013 first-round picks have begun their professional baseball careers.

What the Author Has Done
What the author has done in light of the above is to create a custom leaderboard here at the site of 2013’s first-round picks — which leaderboard will better help the readership monitor the performance of those same players.

Hyperlink to the Leaderboard in Question
Click this hyperlinked text to view the first edition of the first-rounders batting leaderboard (sorted by weighted runs above average). As no first-round pitchers have thrown an inning yet — or, at least not so as they’ve appeared within the present site’s database — there is no corresponding leaderboard for pitchers as of yet.

Screenshot of the Leaderboard in Question
Below is a screenshot of the aforementioned leaderboard. (For the purposes of embiggening, one would do well to click.)

What the Author Resolves
The author resolves to update the leaderboard in question periodically as more draftees make their professional debuts.

Also, Last Year’s First-Round Picks
Click this hyperlinked text to view this season’s minor-league stats of last year’s first-round batters (sorted by weighted runs above average), and this other hyperlinked text for the pitching leaderboard of that same group (sorted by FIP).

Today’s MLB.TV Free Game
Baltimore at Toronto | 19:07 ET
Jason Hammel (80.2 IP, 118 xFIP-, 0.3 WAR) faces R.A. Dickey (93.2 IP, 116 xFIP-, 0.5 WAR). Of note regarding the Orioles, presently: they’re a full standard deviation among the league’s 30 teams by park-adjusted home-run rate*, defensive runs saved, and average batter age (i.e. they’re younger).

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Baltimore Radio, Maybe**.

*By the author’s likely flawed methodology.
**Composition of Toronto Radio crew has changed since crowdsourcing project.

Today’s Complete Schedule
Here’s the complete schedule for all of today’s games, with our very proprietary watchability (NERD) scores for each one. Pitching probables and game times aggregated from MLB.com and RotoWire. The average NERD Game Score for today is 5.5.
