Much like Octoberfest beer, Bumgarner was ready more than a month early. Except unlike drinking an Octoberfest beer in August, it’s not stupid and ridiculous to want to watch Bumgarner at his best in August. Or September. Or any other month, for that matter.

Watching some Fox Saturday baseball. Found out the Pirates have the most HBP in baseball. That makes sense. They crowd the plate and make no effort to get out of the way. I just watched Gregory Polanco not move a muscle and just let a ball hit him in the foot. If the Cubs made a team wide effort to get hit by pitches, the media would have a field day. But, oh, look at those lovable Pirates!

So to recap, the Pirates recipe for success is: 1) shifting, 2) pitch framing and 3) making a team-wide effort to get hit by pitches. Is there anymore annoying team in NL? Can’t wait for the Cubs to crush them in the wild card game (and then crush the Cards in the NLDS).
