POSITION SUMMARY:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Lead Analyst to join our Colorado Rockies Baseball Club team. This may be the opportunity for you! People in this role will use statistical and machine-learning techniques to understand and quantify the game of baseball better. Analysts must also be able to communicate clearly with members of departments across baseball operations, including technical and non-technical audiences. You will work alongside the rest of the R&D, data engineering, and IT groups, interacting with coaches, scouts, and executives from across the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Data Analysis: Design, build, test, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to support all facets of baseball operations, including scouting, player development, and the major league team. Analyze large and complex data on player performance, game statistics, and team metrics. Utilize statistical methods and machine learning techniques to uncover trends and patterns.
• Model Development: Develop and refine predictive models to forecast player performance, game outcomes, and other key metrics. Continuously improve models based on new data and feedback.
• Insight Generation: Translate data analysis into actionable insights and recommendations for coaching staff, management, and other stakeholders. Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
• Tool Development: Design and implement data tools and dashboards to support real-time decision-making and performance tracking. Ensure tools are user-friendly and meet the needs of various stakeholders. Use data to visualize model outputs and important baseball concepts. Designed and built informative data visualizations for automated reports or internal web applications.
• Research: Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and sports analytics. Apply innovative techniques and methodologies to enhance the team’s analytical capabilities. Research specific areas of the game using statistical modeling. Build and maintain these models and take ownership of their results.
• Collaboration: Develop a deep understanding of the existing body of the R&D team’s research, code base, and database. Take on some responsibility for improving and maintaining existing projects. Perform ad hoc analyses on questions that come to Baseball R&D from across the organization.
• Data Management: Ensure accurate and efficient data collection, storage, and management. Maintain data integrity and address any data quality issues.
• Presentation: Prepare and deliver presentations to summarize findings and recommendations. Tailor presentations to different audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Certification programs are not considered equivalent.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in data science, statistical analysis, or a related role, preferably within a sports or performance environment.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Programming skills in a language such as R or Python to work efficiently at scale with large data sets.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated research experience in a sports context (baseball is a plus).

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

• Work Environment: The position is primarily office-based at Coors Field.
• Work Hours: Standard full-time hours with the potential for extended hours during key periods, such as during the season or critical project deadlines.
• Travel: Minimal travel is required, though occasional travel to team facilities or events may be necessary.

• Physical Job Requirements:
  • Sitting/Desk Work: Most work involves sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged periods of sitting and working with data are typical.
  • Typing and Hand Dexterity: Frequent typing and use of a mouse or other input devices are necessary. Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are essential.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Annual salary range of $125,000 – $145,000. This is a regular status, full-time position.
• As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills, and any other factors the Colorado Rockies consider relevant to the hiring decision for this position.

Associate (Intern) – Baseball Systems

Position Summary:
As part of the Baseball Systems department, this role will work closely with the Data Engineering and Software Engineering groups to enhance existing tools and processes, and build new ones using technologies that bridge multiple engineering disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Investigate user identified data quality concerns relating to areas such as game statistics, scouting reports, and transactions. Diagnose and fix the issue(s).
• Load new datasets from vendors into internal databases and make the data available to users.

Overview:
The Blue Jays are seeking a Player Valuation Analyst to join our Research team and support our player evaluation processes in collaboration with our Professional and/or Amateur Scouting department. Role Summaries

Player Development Technology
This role is ideal for candidates interested in working closely with coaches and players through embedding themselves with teams at the Blue Jays’ development complexes or affiliates. Key responsibilities include:

• Serving as the point person for video, technology, and data resources
• Deploying and operating technology for recording data during both practice and game settings
• Organizing, cataloging, distributing, and reviewing video and data/advance resources for affiliate staff and other PD personnel
• Helping to track player goals and progress over the course of the season and collaborating across departments (Minor League Operations, Nutrition, High Performance) to support projects and processes
• Assisting with on-field activities (batting practice, fungos, catching pens) and day-to-day logistical needs of the team as needed

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with video editing software and baseball-related data capture systems is beneficial. Spanish proficiency is also helpful and may be required in some cases.

Operations (Scouting, Baseball Operations, Player Development)
Candidates with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail will support the logistical and administrative functions of the scouting, player development, or baseball operations departments. Duties may include:

• Organizing, entering, and maintaining data and/or video resources
• Supporting departmental administrative tasks (expense reports, compiling statistics and rosters, meeting logistics, etc.) and responding to ad-hoc logistical or organizational needs
• Contributing to player evaluation processes through review of video and data
• In the Player Development department, additional duties may include translating documents to/from English and Spanish, and assisting with integration of technology into on-field work

Microsoft Office (especially Excel) proficiency is crucial; knowledge of baseball rules and regulations is also a strong asset. Spanish proficiency will be beneficial (required in some cases). Proficiency with data management and analysis tools like SQL, R, Python are also beneficial but not required.

This role involves supporting the Major League team with game-by-game and series-by-series preparation, using strong baseball knowledge to assist with:

• Collecting and organizing statistics for scouting reports, identifying patterns in player performance and team tendencies
• Editing and assembling video clips/visual presentations relevant to upcoming matchups
• Conducting ad-hoc research and analysis on players or the game of baseball in general
• Watching video to provide written evaluations and insights to coaching staff, helping to shape game strategies
• Supporting on-field video and data collection and operating game-prep technology 

Candidates with excellent knowledge of baseball rules and strategy and strong time management and organizational skills will excel here. Proficiency in video editing software and tools like R, Shiny, or similar platforms is helpful but not required.

Research & Development
This role is geared towards analytical thinkers passionate about using data to uncover new insights in baseball. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting self-directed research using R, Python, SQL or similar tools
• Working on areas like data acquisition, organization, and cleaning, as well as statistical modeling and visualization
• Presenting research findings to front office members, coaches, or players, ensuring the work is accessible and actionable
• Providing logistical support during major baseball events like the Draft or Trade Deadline

Biomechanics/Sports Science
This role is for candidates passionate about using Biomechanics or Sports Science to uncover insights about baseball and eager to apply their academic background to baseball. Responsibilities may include:

Position Overview
Oversee the daily video, sports technology, and advance scouting operations at assigned minor league affiliate. In addition, the Video & Technology Associate will be responsible for maintaining all sports technology equipment including setup, logging, and uploading all data each day.

Minor League Technology Trainee

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Minor League Technology Trainee will provide a service to an Atlanta Braves affiliate through charting live baseball games and providing video and information to Braves coaches, coordinators, and front office personnel. This role manages all aspects of the assigned affiliate’s video, technology, and advance scouting operation and aims to provide an experience that prepares the ideal candidate for a future role in the baseball industry.

RESPONSIBIITIES:

• Capture video and collect data for each game of the full minor league schedule of an assigned affiliate (home games and team travel to road games, postseason included).
• Manage a network of cameras set up to collect high-quality video from multiple angles.
• Attach, edit, and upload video following each game daily.
• Assist in the deployment and utilization of all Braves technology equipment at assigned affiliate.
• Support the coaching staff/players with ad-hoc video/technology requests as assigned.

2025 Minor League Pitching Coach

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Integrate objective information into a detailed and comprehensive player development plan. 
• Create effective training environments based off individual player plans. 
• Collaborate with Physical domains to effectively plan, implement, and monitor a holistic player development plan. 
• Utilize internal tools, resources, and analytics to assess and adjust player plans. 
• Communicate development plans and progress with players and Player Development staff and Front Office throughout the year.
• Assist field staff with normal daily operations when necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of two years related experience and/or training required. Previous experience with a Major or Minor League Baseball organization or collegiate baseball program is a plus.
• Candidate is willing to potentially work at our development complex in Arizona year-round. 
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people and backgrounds.
• Interest in personal and professional development with a desire to be involved in internal continuing education opportunities. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office, and Outlook. 

Preferred Experience

• Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in SQL is a plus but not required.
• Experience working with Trackman, Edgertronic cameras, biomechanics data, and workload monitoring data.

Player Development Affiliate Intern

Locations: Charlotte, NC – Birmingham, AL – Winston-Salem, NC – Kannapolis, NC – Glendale, AZ

Summary:
The Chicago White Sox are seeking multiple seasonal Player Development Affiliate Interns. This entry level opportunity will provide individuals with a wide range of experiences across professional baseball. These positions will report to the Minor League Video Coordinator, while supporting Minor League coaching staffs at affiliate locations throughout the season. There will also be opportunities to work on various baseball operations projects depending on skillset. 

Program Details:

• The internship is an hourly, non-exempt position. Housing or a housing stipend will be provided.
• The position will take place at one of our 5 affiliate locations: Charlotte (AAA), Birmingham (AA), Winston-Salem (A+), Kannapolis (A), or Glendale (RK).
• All positions will start during Minor League Spring Training and end upon the conclusion of the Minor League season with the potential of extending into Instructional League.
• Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the internship (March 1 – September 30).
• Hours for this position may vary week to week; candidates must be available and prepared to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Directly support players and coaching staff with all day-to-day video and information needs
• Film and chart each game and any early work requests
• Compile advanced scouting reports to be utilized prior to each series
• Manage the setup, operation and data management of all baseball technology
• Travel with the team on all road trips
• Aid in the execution of players development plans
• Complete independent projects as assigned by scouting/analytics/player development/front office staffs

Qualifications:

• Strong communication, organization skills, and eagerness to learn
• Strong knowledge pertaining to information technology including proficiency with all Microsoft Office software
• Knowledge of baseball technologies such as Hawkeye, Motion Capture, TrackMan, Edgertronic Cameras, Rapsodo, Blast Motion, etc. is strongly encouraged
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Additional Skills:

• Prior coaching/playing experience
• Advanced understanding of hitting/pitching biomechanics
• Ability to speak conversational Spanish a plus
• Video editing skills

Your role as an Intern, Sports Science:

You will collect, organize, analyze and report player measurables including ball, bat, and body tracking data to help deliver actionable insights to stakeholders across multiple departments. You will aid in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of individualized Player Development goals.

• Overseeing the implementation of various technologies at affiliates or spring training complex

• Conducting and ensuring proper and timely administration of tests/retests to evaluate physical and physiological responses to training
• Working within an interdisciplinary team to build and generate accurate and actionable reports. Assisting with the interpretation of data & reports for multiple stakeholders
• Contribute to the continued education of all players, coaches, and other staff on the technologies and analytics being used by the Padres and the meaning of their output for all facets of the game
• Leveraging SQL and research skills to quickly conduct ad-hoc queries for PD coaches and staff
• Assisting in the implementation and operation of Hawk-Eye data collection
• Ensuring the Hawk-Eye unit is functioning properly for all games and relevant bullpen sessions, live BPs, etc.
• Ensuring the accurate and organized collection of Hawk-Eye data for medical and/or R&D processes
• Overseeing the transfer of Hawk-Eye data to all pertinent downstream users

Pay and additional compensation:

The hourly pay range for this position is $14.35 – $16.00, depending on the affiliate location. Seasonal, non-union employees are subject to the respective state Minimum Wage and rates will increase accordingly.
