One thing the particularly attentive reader will know is that Cleveland right-hander and arch-nemesis of danger Corey Kluber started Friday night against the Tampa Bays Rays.

What else the reader might know is how the present author wrote a preview of Kluber’s Friday start, which preview was full of Considerable Praise for the Clevelander.

What even the most attentive reader mightn’t know is that, due to a rain delay — in a game which ultimately ended at about 3am local time — Kluber pitched only two innings on Friday (box).

Regarding Kluber’s Two Innings, Some Brief Remarks
Bearded and stoic Corey Kluber was excellent in his two innings, striking out three of the seven batters he faced and allowing just one batter to reach (via a second-inning walk).

To whom does the concluding “him” refer to in this sentence: “Corey Kluber throwing his curveball to Kelly Johnson for a swinging strike and with a scoreboard materializing in front of him”.

Also, is “Mad Bumgarner” a frustrated sodomite?

The him is Kluber. Although to be accurate it seems to materialize behind him.

Either that’s a replay, or, more likely, the producer knew as soon as he saw Kluber’s grip that the inning was about to end in a strikeout.
