Unhelpful Previews for Select Games
Here are very brief, and largely unhelpful, previews for five of today’s game — each including the preferred television feed of FanGraphs readers, per the results of our offseason crowdsourcing project.

Chicago AL at Texas | 14:05 ET
White Sox DH Adam Dunn was worth almost three wins below replacement last year after averaging about three wins above replacement per season over his first 10 years in the majors. He was excellent this spring. “Will it carry over?” is the question you’ve maybe asked yourself, maybe once this spring. Starters: John Danks and Colby Lewis.

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Texas.

Minnesota at Baltimore | 15:05 ET
No one can deny it: the Orioles enter 2012 with greatly improved hats.

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Baltimore, Barely.

New York AL at Tampa Bay | 15:10 ET
This is a true fact: Tampa Bay shortstop Sean Rodriguez was worth 2.3 wins last season — and has been worth 4.5 WAR over 814 plate appearances during the last two seasons with the Rays. He’ll start today against Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia. James Shields pitches for Tampa Bay.

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Tampa Bay.

St. Louis at Milwaukee | 16:10 ET
There’s a possibility you’re curious about how Brewers first baseman Mat Gamel will perform this season, his first with an actual starting job. Today will reveal approximately 1/162nd of the answer to that question. Starters: Jaime Garcia and Yovani Gallardo (both native sons of Mexico!).

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Milwaukee.

San Francisco at Arizona | 19:10 ET
Clinical studies indicate that the voice of Giants radio broadcaster Jon Miller has been used effectively to treat patients suffering from any number of ailments, from post-traumatic stress disorder to shingles. Additionally, here are this game’s starting pitchers: Tim Lincecum and Ian Kennedy.

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: San Francisco.

Video: A Baltimore Oriole Eating an Orange
Use the rhetorical pattern known as “compare and contrast” to explain the differences and similarities between a the baseball kind and bird kind of Baltimore Oriole.

Crowdsourcing Broadcasters: Minnesota Radio
Recently, we released the results of our television broadcaster rankings — itself the product of reader crowdsourcing that started in late November. Now, FanGraphs is asking readers to rate the radio broadcast teams for all 30 major-league clubs (Click here for more on this project.)

Please note that today we’re crowdsourcing the Twins radio broadcast from last season — to help serve as a baseline of sorts for the other 29 broadcast teams. We’ll publish a ballot for Gladden and new play-by-play man Cory Provus during the season sometime, to give fans a chance to become acquainted with the latter.

Rate other teams: Washington / Toronto / Texas / Tampa Bay / Seattle / San Francisco / San Diego / St. Louis / Pittsburgh. / Philadelphia / Oakland / New York (NL) / New York (AL).
