I asked this to August, but he didn’t want to touch Fantasy, so: I have a good problem. In my Keeper league, I have Sano, Bogaerts and Corey Seager for 2 spots, plus a utility spot. Should I keep all 3? Should I deal one for pitching (which is by far my weakness)? Who would you consider dealing of the 3? And keep in mind I’m a delusional Red Sox fan who loves Xander Bogaerts like a son.

Eno Sarris: I wonder if Sano isn’t the guy to deal here. No positional value, probably will hit .230 or so next year, lucky to hit .240 I think. And peak value, you’ll get what you want.

Eno Sarris: I have no idea. In a vaccum, if the players don’t die, I think I like the Dodgers lineup more! I know the results in second half favor the Mets, but there are more good hitters in the Dodgers lineup imo.

Eno Sarris: Maybe the city has a different feel for the sour? Because NoCal loves it. The Rare Barrell wants $300 for ten sours over the course of a year in a special society and it sold out in like ten minutes.

Eno Sarris: I’d be careful about projecting too much growth. He’s 28. I know it’s “not his fault he’s old” as Billy Beane said to me about Joey Wendle, because he was a pitcher, but we might have seen his best last year. Which was pretty good.

I have Russell ($9), Lindor ($6) Correa ($9), and Kang ($15) in FGPts. Only Russell has 2B eligibility so he seems like a keep, but which of the others would you trade/has the most trade value? Or should I try to keep all 4? (pre-arb prices)

Eno Sarris: I think you keep all four because Kang is the obvious trader because of price and age upside, but also would get the least in trade. You can play him at 3B/UT/ use him to pump up PA at MI positions.

Good day, Eno. Are there styles of beer that are better for aging than others, or styles that shouldn’t be aged?

Eno Sarris: Yes very much. IPAs should not be aged, pretty much no pale ales or session pales. Lagers don’t gain much. Pilsners don’t gain or lose that much, but new pilsners have hops in them so I’d drink them fresh. Imperial barrel-aged stouts, stouts, porters, those are the best to age. Sours, too. Saisons sometimes get tarter.

Eno Sarris: No I don’t think so. Change looks bad to me, curve big and slow and obvious, fastballs decently fast but not amazingly commanded or have great movement. Gives up homers on the fastballs, which is a bad sign IMO.

Eno Sarris: I love new beers. I consider it a bit of a weakness, but I love new combinations. When I eat food, I start by eating a little bit of everything. Then I start combining things differently. By the end, I’m trying to get a piece of everything on one fork. I’m made for new beers.

Eno Sarris: Projections have him striking out 2o% of the time or so, and that’s off, given his debut and minor league stats this year. I think new projections will be more like .260/.310/.400, which means he can play at second or third.

Dave thinks Cubs move Castro this offseason and go with Baez/Russell up the middle. Castro’s cheap, and I still don’t see him having a ton of value given two pretty shoddy seasons in recent memory; he frankly may be best suited as a super backup. Thoughts?

Eno Sarris: I think the Cub will be looking for pitching and Castro may have saved his value enough to get them something okay. With LaStella, they have backup plan at second, too. Seems ripe for trade.

I think the Yankee dress code adds to their Evil Empire mystique. Damon forsaking the beard for the pinstripes just kinda cemented the betrayal thing. Bluejacket is kinda meh unfortunately. I like Right Proper (a lot of mildly wild things like saisons), and Ocelot is making nice IPAs out in Virginia. For how many breweries we have it’s remarkable how few inspire, though that’s probably true everywhere.

Eno Sarris: Top top shelf out here in NoCal are probably Cellarmaker, Fieldwork, Rare Barrell. Couple of other big names have dropped off a bit. Russian River if you want to count it.
