Eno Sarris Baseball Chat — 6/6/13

8:46
Eno Sarris: Will be here in 14!

9:01
Eno Sarris: Lyrics of the day are actually the frigging chorus. But yeah, it’s a bit obscure.

Sunny, sunny, sunny whether
Joely wasn’t altogether true
Still our cousin knew
I, I, I, I, no, I, I, I, me me me me
More I want to
Bren coughed boo hoo hoo

9:01
Eno Sarris: Also, if I leave or disappear abruptly, I’m sorry. David Walker from Firestone Walker is supposed to call me about the BeerGraphs meetup tomorrow, and, well, yeah.

9:01
Comment From Simon
Camped out for your chat trying to get in early bfore lineups lock. I feel like I’m waiting in line over night at K-Mart for tickets to see the Rolling Stones – yeah, I’m that old! Anyway…

Pick 2 of the following streamers with the best ERA/WHIP
Hughes a SEA (Harang),
M. Gonzalez @ HOU (Norris),
Pettitte , a SEA (Saunders),
Jackson v PIT (Burnett)
Phelps a SEA (F. Hernandez)

9:02
Eno Sarris: You are first. So you get an answer! It’s like getting tickets in the front row! or something. I like Pettite and Phelps. Hughes scares me a bit. Like he’s looking for something.

9:02
Comment From Swoon
Gorgeous Peter Bourjos, expectations for him ROS? Can you also please tell him to actually try and steal once and awhile, since he is so fast. He also has pretty eyes.

9:03
Eno Sarris: lolfawn. Well, the problem is that he’s had leg issues. So I doubt he steals much more than 25 or so, and most of those later in the year.

9:03
Comment From Music is p cool
I’ve been offered Dexter Fowler for my Gio in ottoneu 5×5. I need power and he has Dom Brown. Should I try to turn Gio into Brown, or just take Fowler? Or neither?

9:04
Eno Sarris: Fowler is a better OBP league get. I’d go after Brown, maybe he’ll think he’s selling high. Brown should get to 30 even if he returns to a 25-HR pace.

9:04
Comment From the Gregorius D.I.D.(i)
Observation: 9 of the 30 opening day closers have gotten hurt or lost their jobs through underperformance in 2013….which is pretty par for the course. Saves suck

9:04
Eno Sarris: Is true. Most are through injury this year, though.

9:04
Comment From Russell Branyan
I somehow have managed to acquire Altuve, Profar, *and* Rendon in a keeper league. I don’t have enough spots to play them all — who should I try to move?

9:05
Eno Sarris: You might need all three at the end of the year. Might sit on em. Cause Altuve or Profar will get the most back, but if you end up looking for a 2b later that would be silly.

9:05
Comment From nwdave
Who do you like ROS, Aybar or Didi? Yunel, Crawford also available.

9:05
Eno Sarris: Just take Didi for the upside. I have no idea what he’ll do.

9:05
Comment From John Stamos
When do you start targeting guys coming out of the draft in a dynasty league? Also, do you plan on watching the draft?

9:06
Eno Sarris: I probably won’t watch the draft. BeerGraphs drops tomorrow. And I probably won’t pick up many of the draftees because I’m impatient and want guys that are closer. I might take a college guy in the top ten. He’s the closest. Guys like Gray and Appel might only need a year or so before they are up.

9:06
Comment From john
someone offered me ryan braun for joe mauer. i have posey and need some hitting. i took it figuring that any suspension would be several months away. good idea?

9:06
Eno Sarris: You know, Mauer could go down with injury too. I actually like this one. And yes, appeals should give you mcuh of the season in a roto league.

9:06
Comment From JP
Jayson Werth or Daniel Nava ROS?

9:06
Eno Sarris: WErth

9:06
Comment From Matt (Steinway)
So I was pondering my 2-7 H2H team that would be in 4th if it were Roto in my “friends in real life” league, and I thought about a cool league format I’d like to see offered. Has anybody ever done a daily h2h league? Where you face a different team each day? I’ve had too many weeks this season where my 2.15 ERA is bested by a 2.10 ERA, or I lose homers 15-14. In real life baseball you’d never win or lose based on a whole week’s worth of performance, right? I think a daily H2H league (points league maybe?) would be a cool and fun way to play, and feel closer to being a real life manager/GM. Or at the very least easier to dig yourself out of a hole in early June.

9:07
Eno Sarris: I like this. It’s a bit like daily fantasy, but a little different. I’ve been thinking of finding a new way to make fantasy work. Also: how do we get more trades.

9:07
Comment From Milhouse
Is Adam Lind back in the circle of trust? Even startable against lefties? Is rizzo startable against lefties?

9:07
Eno Sarris: He told me that he’s comfortable in the platoon, so don’t worry about that. And he’s swinging at 90%, which I like to hear. I like him. Rizzo an always start for me.

9:07
Comment From JP
Hold onto Skaggs or drop him for someone like Jacob Turner, Dillon Gee, or Dan Straily? (redraft league)

9:08
Eno Sarris: In a redraft, I bet there’s a veteran that’s better than all of them. I like Straily here.

9:08
Comment From juan pierres mustache

9:08
Comment From RotoLando
You’re a funny guy Eno. I like you. That’s why I’m going to kill you last.

9:08
Comment From Colonic Brown
Is chocolate milk a PED? I mean… compared to plain milk, water, or most sports drinks, It has double the carbohydrate and protein content, perfect for replenishing tired muscles. Its high water content replaces fluids lost as sweat, preventing dehydration. Plus it packs a nutritional bonus of calcium, and includes just a little sodium and sugar — additives that help recovering athletes retain water and regain energy.

9:08
Eno Sarris: I laughed at that interlude.

9:08
Comment From Eminor3rd
People keep trying to fleece me out of Hisashi Iwakuma in a ten teamer. Why would someone assume that I would have Iwakuma and not realize what he’s been doing? If I wasn’t aware, why would I have rostered him?

9:09
Eno Sarris: And there’s little reason to think he’s way above his head.

9:09
Comment From JP
Chase Headley worth hanging on to at this point? Or drop him for more pitching… can never have enough in my league (I have Longoria)

9:09
Eno Sarris: Yes. He’s actually very good at baseball.

9:09
Comment From JP
Any possible guys you see stealing the closer role soon?

9:10
Eno Sarris: I used to like AJ Ramos in Florida but wow. Brothers has a slight chance of holding the role. Capps in Seattle has to be on radars with Wilhelmsen’s down K%. Ambriz if Veras goes down, but nobody cares.

9:10
Comment From Adam
Who poses the bigger threat to the Braves – the Nationals or Phillies?

9:10
Eno Sarris: Still the Nationals. They have some really good players and if Rendon plays better than Espy at second — shouldn’t be too hard — I don’t really see a “hole” in their lineup or their rotation.

9:10
Comment From Val Lowe
What’s up with Matt Moore’s fastball? Concern?

9:10
Eno Sarris: It’s down. Happens. It’s his control that’s the worrisome thing.

9:11
Comment From James
Is Pestano worth holding on to in a 14 team league for at least a couple more weeks?

9:11
Eno Sarris: Yes. Shoulders suck.

9:11
Comment From Christopher
Scoresheet rest of season, Corey Hart or Anthony Rizzo at 1B?

9:11
Eno Sarris: Rizzo.

9:11
Comment From Kris
How much more exciting would the MLB Draft be if teams could trade their draft picks?

9:11
Eno Sarris: Or if the announcers didn’t drool over *every single* pick.

9:11
Eno Sarris: THIS GUY HAS ACE UPSIDE.

9:11
Comment From LarryA
Will Beer Graphs have actual graphs?

9:11
Eno Sarris: Yes! And leaderboards!

9:12
Comment From Razor
When Beachy comes back, are you starting him right away? Or holding off to see what happens?

9:12
Eno Sarris: If it’s a bad matchup, maybe I wait. But it is the NL, and he’ll have done a long rehab. Most likely will start him.

9:12
Comment From Kris
Have Kemp at CF. Should I offer Pedroia (Who I have at IF, since Cano is at 2B) for Adam Jones? Would have to roll with Neil Walker at my IF spot.

9:12
Eno Sarris: Given Pedroia’s thumb injury, I think this is fine.

9:12
Comment From Jordan
Oh hello Eno. Do you like Dan Straily? Not as a person, but as a fantasy baseball pitching commodity of course. Would you prefer Kevin Gausman?

9:13
Eno Sarris: I can’t wait to interview him. Have heard some really interesting things. Problem for me is his fastball. As a keeper, I want Gausman. This year? Straily seems pretty polished and you can start him at home.

9:13
Comment From john
any thoughts on lackey? and ROS pls rank J. Fernandez, lackey, parker, straily, chatwood, kluber. thx!

9:13
Eno Sarris: Fernandez (but IP), Lackey, Straily/Parker.

9:13
Eno Sarris: Although Lackey/Straily/Parker is *almost* a pickem.

9:14
Comment From Guest #1
I hate when people say, well so and so would have been a Hall of Famer without the roids. Why do we think we can pinpoint the exact date someone started using?

9:14
Eno Sarris: I think for Bonds, I’m saying, he’s so awesome he could be 25% less awesome and still be a Hall of Famer. And I doubt roids do much more than 25% for you.

9:14
Comment From austin
Is the NL East really this lopsided?

9:14
Eno Sarris: Nat should make it closer. But I called it!

9:14
Comment From Ruki Motomiya
Sweet I am finally here in time for one of these!

9:15
Eno Sarris: I haven’t even made it to noon on the questions…

9:15
Comment From Chris
How would you arrange a 2-man bench in a H2H league with SV and Holds? I can’t decide if it’s worth it to hold on to Wheeler (or an extra RP), or have more flexibility with an extra hitter to cover off days of starters

9:15
Eno Sarris: All pitching. You just get more out of that then 6-8 extra PA.

9:15
Comment From Guest
Just traded for Braun and am working on getting Nelson Cruz. Come on MLBPA!

9:16
Eno Sarris: I think the MLBPA is fuerte. I bet they skate. I mean, it’s one dude, talking. Even paper work is like, sure, whatever, that’s some paper.

9:16
Comment From juan pierres mustache
day games! eno chat! and dinner tonight at a brewpub! it’s a good Thursday. I’m looking at a tap list with a bunch of stuff from Lavery and Southern Tier, as well as Neshaminy Creek Tribute Triple. any recommendations of those options?

9:16
Eno Sarris: I think, even in summer, you have to try the mokah and javah stouts from Southern Tier.

9:16
Comment From Dr. K
Also, someone recommended Flower Power IPA from Ithaca Beer Co. and was wondering if you had tried it?

9:16
Eno Sarris: Loved it.

9:17
Comment From Jordan
Trying to cash in on the Puig madness. What 2b should I aim for to be an upgrade over Jose Altuve? I know, I know, shoot for the stars, yada yada. Who would reasonable at this point?

9:17
Eno Sarris: Sounds like a reasonable offer actually. Not too much star power with Altuve.

9:17
Comment From Kris
Was listening to the TINSTAAP podcast from BP with Sporer and Thorburg and Thorburg mentioned that the drag line from the back foot is pretty telling for a pitcher’s command and whether or not the fastball is being overthrown and over rotated. In your article, Cain’s back foot looks a little further left in ’13 than ’12. Could this explain the drop in Edge%?

9:17
Eno Sarris: Very possible.

9:17
Comment From LarryA
Any chance of a Beergraphs meetup in NYC during the allstar rreak?

9:18
Eno Sarris: Good idea but someone needs to send me to NYC during the allstar break. More likely is NYC in September. Of course, NYC baseball won’t matter then. #zing #selfzing

9:18
Comment From Archer
Looking at the updated catching tiers, should I drop M. Montero for either Lucroy or Castro in an OBP league?

9:18
Eno Sarris: None of them is a lock for anything more than .260/10 RoS. I gues Lucroy has shown better batting averages. Could be okay.

9:19
Comment From the Gregorius D.I.D.(i)
What is to stop Ernesto Frieri from eventually succumbing to Marmolitis (the BB rate catching up too far to the K rate)? If this does happen is Coello the guy now?

9:19
Eno Sarris: Coello will never close for the Angels. (oh boy, now he will). I just don’t see Mike trusting a forklenucklething.

9:19
Comment From Doctor Met
Ommegang partnered with Game of Thrones to brew their first beer, the Iron Throne blond ale. Have it yet?

9:19
Eno Sarris: No, and frankly that last episode has left me nauseous.

9:20
Comment From Arnie
Eno, in my AL keeper league I am in 4th place. Could use some offense but don’t know if I can win the title (maybe second or third). I could trade Wil Myers and Dylan Bundy for Miguel Cabrera. Don’t know if I want to give up my future for the uncertainty of reaching first. What would you do?

9:20
Eno Sarris: I’m assuming Miggie Cabs is unkeepable? because if he’s keepable, giddyap.

9:20
Comment From Stahp
Are the Braves really going to move Medlen to the bullpen? I mean, he is leading all starters in ERA over the past calendar year. It’s not like his previous bullpen experience was late in game experience either. Sigh. Tim Hudson should be the one that gets moved, but I imagine he has armor because of “leadership”

9:21
Eno Sarris: One thing about Medlen is that he’s kind of relying on great control, and doesnt have it now. meh fastball velocity, and is the changeup so great that he can ride it into the sunset?

9:21
Comment From Evan Gattis
Will I win the HR Derby?

9:21
Eno Sarris: Oso Blanco FTW

9:21
Comment From Brian
While I’m enjoying Paul Goldschmidt’s Joey Votto impersonation, if he settles in as a 12% BB guy and a 20 or 21% K guy, what is is he moving forward?

9:21
Eno Sarris: top three 1B. Top 1b?

9:21
Comment From the Gregorius D.I.D.(i)
Is Greinke safe to start tonight if my h2h opponent is starting Hudson?

9:21
Eno Sarris: Yes

9:22
Comment From TJ
ENO, I would like you to be my fantasy consigliere for about 2 min here…SO, I was offered HanRam & Harper for Tulo & Puig…feel like it’s a total sell high on Puig…but I can’t decide if it’s worth it to give up Tulo…caveat: my OF consists of Gomez, A-Jax, Crawford, & Soriano…AND i struggle in SB…pull the trigger or keep Tulo?

9:23
Eno Sarris: Even when everyone is healthy, you could use Harper. I’m assuming it’s not a keeper league. And I’m seeing more whiff in Puig’s game than I thought. I know it’s hard to send the best player out, but if depth can help you — and it might here — do it. You can wait a bit so Harper gets closer.

Comment From Ruki Motomiya

Another week, another Duda update. The baseball gods have not been kind to our beloved Lucas Duda this week. 1 HR 1 RBI .174/.240 OBP. To make things better, here is a funny picture of him.

Heyward: possibly the most epic buy low opportunity?

9:24
Eno Sarris: Yes.

9:24
Eno Sarris: Asterisk: his insides.

But yes.

9:24
Comment From Lily
Rank ros : Ruby de la, Allen Webster, Cmart? They ask must adds when called up?

9:25
Eno Sarris: Actually I think the best bet is that none of them are big factors this season. CMart maybe first likeliest to play, Webster or CMart with biggest upside.

9:25
Comment From Tyler
Is Wheeler worth going and getting now? I don’t necessarily want to waste a roster spot on him, but if he’s a stud he’s a stud. Gausman burned me last week…not looking for another guy who WILL be good vs who IS good. K/IP & sub 4.00 ERA for this kid?

9:25
Eno Sarris: It’s the perils of youngsters. I *think* Wheeler will be good, and he does have something going for him that Gausman didn’t: the NL.

9:26
Comment From John Stamos
Buy low on Biogenesis players?

9:26
Eno Sarris: I think so, in general. But maybe not in H2H. If you get Braun, he plays most of the season, but loses appeals right before playoffs…

9:26
Comment From LarryA
Hector Santiago worth a pickup for a few weeks?

9:27
Eno Sarris: I do like his K rate. And screwball! I’d be careful about pitching him all the time at home in mixed leagues.

9:27
Comment From Kerney
Who do you prefer in dynasty formats: Alcides Escobar or Didi Gregorius?

9:27
Eno Sarris: Didi higher ceiling, Alcides higher floor. Considering the position, I’d want Alcides because I hate shortstops anyway, and a guy that will steal some bases is fine.

9:27
Comment From James
“This is a witch hunt! Ryan Braun is innocent I tell ya, INNOCENT!”- nobody but Brewers fans

9:28
Eno Sarris: Hole on. The first part can be true without the second part.

9:28
Comment From McVanderhuge
Edwin got 3rd base eligibility in some leagues. Where is he now in fantasy value?

9:28
Eno Sarris: Probably second or third third baseman, maybe a second rounder.

9:28
Comment From TB
How much playing time does Raja get when he returns? Is he better than De Aza for example?

9:28
Eno Sarris: Rajai Davis? He really should only be played against lefties.

9:28
Comment From Kevin
What do you make of Allen Craig’s power outage? He’s been a solid producer for me but it’s still kind of annoying.

9:29
Eno Sarris: I think he’s probably a 20-hr guy true talent.

9:29
Comment From Starling Marte
Will I get back on track?

9:29

Just sent you a tweet and then saw this so I’ll re ask here: I’ve got Marcum and Straily and Cashner all going today v. WAS , CWS, and COL respectively. Any to avoid starting here?

9:30
Eno Sarris: Cash IN COL seems like a sit. And I think Straily is IN CWS, so I think I might sit him too.

9:30
Comment From Pete
Is there a second basemen you could recommend picking up in a deep league?

9:30

Beer Question? Ever had Unibrour Tipel. It is currently in my fridge awaiting my arrival home

9:31
Eno Sarris: It’s good, but I don’t love the style.

9:31

Do you think Tony Cingrani will be called up again with Cueto back on the DL? Also, do you ever almost call him Queto?

9:31
Eno Sarris: HAH QUETO YES. um, it has to be Cingrani, right? Especially after the trouncing that last guy got. They haven’t said it yet…

Eno Sarris: Rendon. Can’t find DJLM’s skill other than baseball.

9:32
Comment From Eno
Is Corey Kluber actually good or is Carson just being Carson?

9:32
Eno Sarris: Kluber is way better than I thought. Not sure he’s a mixed leaguer just yet, maybe a deep mixed leaguer.

9:32
Comment From TB
Re: trading. We switched from a roto league to H2H in hopes it would increase trading. No luck, not one trade yet this year. It is all the peeps you roll with

9:32
Comment From juan pierres mustache
you could encourage more trades by allowing trades that have a set point at which the players revert to their initial teams in a H2H. I imagine people would be less risk-averse if they were just trading a spare closer or w/e for a week and then getting him back

9:33
Comment From (Dis)Astros
Are oranges orange because of the color orange, or is the color orange orange because of the fruit?

9:33
Eno Sarris: had to finish that up with some deep thought action

9:33
Comment From Ryan Seacrest
Once Rendon gets 2B eligibility, do you prefer him or Nick Franklin? Do you think Rendon is up to stay?

9:33
Eno Sarris: Prefer Franklin. Rendon won’t steal much.

Are your worried about Greinke or Hamels?

9:35
Eno Sarris: Nope!

9:35
Comment From Don
I have some OF depth and my team is a contender in a dynasty league. Trade Dom Brown to get Lester?

9:35
Eno Sarris: oooh. Man. could you add a bad/old pitcher and get a sleeper young guy back? I mean… you’re losing like five years in the peak there. I’d have a hard time pulling that trigger.

9:36
Comment From mr. anonymous
talk of closers being traded is starting to heat up.. who are the buyers? detroit? also, will any of these closers that get traded actually close or will they turn into higher leverage middle men?

9:36
Eno Sarris: yes Detroit is a buyer. I could see Dodgers doing something silly. Baltimore could buy and not close them, or even use them as closer.

9:36

I’m worried Beer Graphs will suffer from a severe west-coast bias. Are you going to have enough coverage of awesome east-coast breweries like Sixpoint, Singlecut and Captain Lawrence?

9:39

Reasonable fantasy return for Prince Fielder?

9:41
Eno Sarris: You have to go into the teams that need power, hitting, find some players that they might actually give up, and then come back with some names. These sort of questions are virtually impossible to me.

9:41
Comment From juan pierres mustache
I have a feeling this biogenesis thing is going to be similar to the Saints bounty scandal in that it’ll end up looking like the commissioner/league office went way overboard because they wanted to send some sort of message, but at the end of the day everyone involved just looks terrible

Paul Goldschmidt — best 1B in MLB? There’s that Canadian guy, too..

Trade Pedroia for Braun in a H2H league? Everth would by my everyday 2b

Hey Eno, Enjoy the talks but not really the interludes or beer! Anyway, what do you think of Derrick Holland and Rick Porcello ROS? They’re both using different pitch mixes to success. Do you think it continues?

9:44
Eno Sarris: Each/own. I don’t quite believe in Porcello. Maybe he’ll be better, but I don’t see much more than a 7K9, so ceiling lower anyway. Love Holland. Always wanted to see more command, and I think we’re seeing it.

Right now I have Bautista, Pence, and Dom Brown in my OF. Carl Crawford and Stanton are on DL. It sounds like Stanton should be back next week. Would you trade Crawford straight up for Licnecum, and then have Stanton, Bautista, Pence in OF and Brown at UTIL? Or save him for injury insurance. I’m riding a lot of young arms that might be gone during playoff time, so I’m trying to shore up my SP.

9:45

So, what you are suggesting is the Braves may decide to toss Medlen to the pen because he may possibly in the future not be a top of the rotation arm? I could see the logic in the that if his competition wasn’t Tim Hudson and Paul Maholm. Neither of those guys at this point in their careers are sure things either.

9:49

Ran in the house, and grabbed my bat

Bailed outside and I pointed the way
Just as I thought the fools just stay

The problem with Fangraphs is that I play in a league full of fangraphs readers, so I can’t take any of these juicy bits of info and use them to my advantage. I can’t trade Matt Moore because they all read all the stuff you guys publish about him. I’m going to privately email you my roster to you have a black list of players you shouldn’t write about. Deal?

9:55

I own Josh Johnson, but I’m terrified to use, trade, drop, or start him. Thoughts?

9:56
Comment From David L
Will Stanton hot dog it throughout the rest of the season, or will he play up to his talent?

9:56
Eno Sarris: Even if he doesn’t care about the Marlins, there’s arbitration and trade as carrots.

9:56
Comment From Gob
Yesterday, Dave Cameron said he would not (yet) group Manny Machado with Trout, Harper and Stanton. Do you agree?

9:56
Eno Sarris: Yeah. a lot of infield flies in Machado’s line, not the same power as those other guys.

9:56
Comment From Dr. Met
There was some noise around doing an appendectomy article. Holliday, Dunn, A.Torres have all gone through it and anecdotally had a rough stretch coming back. Any fire from this smoke?

9:57
Eno Sarris: Pretty much already done. Check out Zimm’s mash articles. He references his old piece on appendectomies and talks about it in reference to Heyward.

9:57
Comment From Kerney
Who do you think is better for fantasy? Appel or Gray?

9:58
Eno Sarris: Appel has better control, which might beget better health from the research I’ve seen. His changeup is legit now, even if Gray has more velocity. I’ll take Appel.

9:58
Comment From Concerned Hamels
Assure me that Cole Hamels will be ok the rest of the season and has just been unlucky… I liked what I saw last, but it was against the Marlins.

People always say: that story would make a great movie; refering to Hamilton, or Gattis, or now Nava, but then no one actually makes these movies. Can you talk to your Hollywood connections? thx

10:01

10:01
Comment From Pat
What is Rendon’s short-term (ROS) upside? What is his long-term upside? AVG/OPS/HRs?

10:02
Eno Sarris: Right now, he’s probably .250/.350/.400, which is meh. If he started the rest of the year, maybe 5-7 HR. Long term, more power upside, probably a better batting average.

10:02
Comment From Crusty
Is Aaron Hill a good future comp for Franklin, or is that too high?

10:02
Eno Sarris: Hill more about power. and swinging for fences.

10:03

How are your fantasy teams this year? Anything especially interesting to tell?

10:03
Eno Sarris: Most are doing well. The teams where I went young with starting pitching (most of them, since the youngsters were cheaper) are doing great. My 15-team H2H keeper where I went ‘old’ with starting pitching? TERRIBLE.

10:03

10:03
Comment From James
Is there anything more annoying than people who dont respond to trade offers consistently? Especially when they update their trading block.

10:04
Eno Sarris: Sometimes I leave offers I won’t take out there to remind me of a guy’s interest, and to handcuff them from making moves without canceling the offer haha. So yeah, I’m being annoying.

10:04
Comment From Holy Cow
How come there is so little trading in fantasy baseball? I’m in 8 yahoo leagues and only one of them is active. When I make an offer they normally don’t even respond. Make them respond, please….

10:05
Eno Sarris: Some of it is just inactive teams. Some of it is people overvaluing their own players. Some of it is not being ready to cut bait on struggling players.

10:05
Comment From juan pierres mustache
“I could see the Dodgers doing something silly” should be their team slogan or something.

We use errors as a stat in a H2H dynasty league and one manager is very dug in on its importance. Please tell him he’s a fool.

10:08

Yan Gomes the real deal? He’s available in a pts. league and I have an offer for Santana that would bolster my starting pitching.

Teheran is currently at 1.90 BB/9, but most projections have him landing between 2.5-3. Do you think his control is actually better than advertised?

10:15
Eno Sarris: I actually think it might be worse. When I watched him, his command was bad. Might have more control then command. Also, he’s doing this with a fastball/sinker/curveball combo, which is really two pitches. He’s no definite thing.

Pitch f/x says Teheran threw 45 fastballs and 41 sliders yesterday. Coming up though, his change was his best pitch and he had almost no semblance of a breaking pitch. rank em… doumit, castro, montero, martinez

10:27
Eno Sarris: pick martinez/doumit/montero. Doumit and Martinez more PAs though, so probably one of those guys. I guess VMart deserves a bit more time.

Nolasco actually sweetens a trade offer??? No wonder I haven’t been able to successfully trade much! My next strategy: “I know you won’t accept my Yuniesky for your Trout. But what if I ALSO took a dump on your doorstep and lit it on fire? How does THAT sound?!?”

10:30
Eno Sarris: maybe there’s another nolasco, a prospect?
