FanGraphs After Dark Chat – 4/1/14
| 5:47 |
: CLEVER INTRODUCTION!
BASEBALL!!! Polls coming later. |
| 5:47 |
: Oh, also, 9 pm ET is the start time. Be there!
|
| 8:58 |
: Question. I am going to examine individual park sections for the THT like I did with the league with this article:
I already plan on looking at Oakland’s foul area, Green Monster, Houston hill. Any other requests? |
| 9:00 |
: Help Jeff out guys!
|
| 9:02 |
Scooter Gennett is getting the start again today (this time vs a lefty). Safe to say he is not in a straight platoon with Weeks??? |
| 9:02 |
: I don’t think it’s SAFE to say, but it’s certainly trending that way.
|
| 9:03 |
: I am not going to make a platoon call after two games.
|
| 9:03 |
Do you see Jason Castro taking another step forward this year or more of the same? |
| 9:03 |
: I see more of the same, which is pretty good stuff, if you ask me.
|
| 9:03 |
: More of the same
|
| 9:04 |
Hi Paul 14 team 5×5 H2H with QS instead of W’s my rotation is Fernandez, Salazar, Kluber, Kazmir and Kennedy with Gausman stashed is that enough or do I look to deal for another top tier starter? Or do I hit the wire for Mejia or Peralta? |
| 9:04 |
: I think that if all of those guys play to expectations it’s enough, but you have a lot of high beta/low track record guys.
|
| 9:05 |
: I would be worried a bit on getting the 6 innings with the whole staff, but I don’t think the others are much of an upgrade.
|
| 9:05 |
Tampa’s roof? … |
| 9:05 |
Do the rafters at the Trop count? |
| 9:05 |
: Oh Tampa’s roof/rafters is a good one.
|
| 9:05 |
Pray for Scott Feldman. |
| 9:06 |
: That comment came in before 6 pm. Guess it wasn’t Feldman we needed to worry about.
|
| 9:06 |
: Looks like the Prayers worked.
|
| 9:06 |
: Hey I added the scoreboard dealie thing to the chat. BASEBALL!
|
| 9:06 |
I always find it cruel that the best day of the year (Opening Day) and the worst day of the year (April Fools) fall so close together. All these lame attempts at ‘pranks’ are seriously killing my baseball buzz. |
| 9:07 |
: Jaack is sensitive, you guys.
|
| 9:07 |
Is Sabathia done? |
| 9:07 |
: Nope.
|
| 9:08 |
: He will just need to locate better. He might have to struggle like Lincecum has been the last couple of seasons.
|
| 9:08 |
Is this Hutchinson’s best start of 2014? Is his value never this high again? |
| 9:09 |
: I mean, it’s the fifth inning. I know you guys are excited, but…
|
| 9:09 |
: Yes, but I was higher on some other 5th starters.
|
| 9:10 |
: Some shenanigans going on in this LAD-SD game.
|
| 9:10 |
Carl Crawford almost ejected! The intrigue! The suspense! The drama! |
| 9:10 |
Which 3 players will play the most games in the Red Sox outfield this season? |
| 9:10 |
: Paul?
|
| 9:10 |
: Oh, I like this question. I will say Victorino, Bradley and Nava.
|
| 9:10 |
How is StubHub legal? |
| 9:11 |
: Because the leagues all play ball with them now.
|
| 9:11 |
: Because it makes sense
|
| 9:11 |
: Pretty RBI double from CarGo.
|
| 9:11 |
Swydan, how worried should I be that Xander hasn’t even hit a homer yet???????????? |
| 9:11 |
: He should be.
|
| 9:11 |
: He has had four plate appearances, and reached base in two of them. Winning.
|
| 9:12 |
If SIERA is considered the most accurate ERA predictor , how come you guys seem to like to use FIP more frequently than SIERA? |
| 9:12 |
: I would prefer kwERA if it was available.
|
| 9:12 |
: I believe the answer is that they’re not THAT different, and we had the rights to use FIP before we had the rights to use SIERA, so there wasn’t a huge need to switch, but I feel like Jeff will know better than me on this one.
|
| 9:13 |
Adam Jones for Troy Tulowitski– who wins? |
| 9:13 |
: The team that gets Tulo – by a mile and a half.
|
| 9:14 |
: Jones
|
| 9:14 |
: DISAGREEMENTS!
|
| 9:14 |
: If going to go early, take the healthy player.
|
| 9:14 |
Paul- I’m new to fantasy baseball. Receiving pitcher + pitcher/position players for Cano. What should I expect in return? Thks! |
| 9:15 |
: Cano is one of the best position players in fantasy baseball, perhaps THE best when you take positional scarcity into account, so I would expect star level players back.
|
| 9:15 |
: Both players should have a ADP of 30 or more.
|
| 9:16 |
Is Lindstrom really going to be the closer because he saved 20 games once 4 years ago. Meanwhile Jones’ whiff rate is 9/IP |
| 9:16 |
: I think Lindstrom is going to be the closer because it will mean that Nate Jones will make less money in arbitration.
|
| 9:16 |
: Maybe, some how Chris Perez closed for like three seasons.
|
| 9:17 |
Should I try to trade someone like Arian Gonzalez for Brian McCann as an upgrade over Evan Gattis? Does the answer change if I have V-Mart and he might acquire C eligibility? |
| 9:17 |
: VMart only caught 5 games last season, so I wouldn’t bank on him getting C eligibility.
I would absolutely prefer to have McCann over Gattis, but I think this depends on who your replacement at 1B is if you trade Gonzalez. Gattis isn’t the worst ever. |
| 9:18 |
: I would wait a bit on V-Mart. He has some early away interleague games. Wait until then to see if he get C eligibility.
|
| 9:18 |
: Jeff is always two steps ahead.
|
| 9:18 |
How much playing time does Konerko get in his last season? It would be nice to see 10-12 hrs maybe some key hits for the borderline HOFer |
| 9:19 |
: 50 games, 30 starts.
|
| 9:19 |
: First of all, I don’t think anything he does this year should count towards any HOF campaign that may or may not be mounted on his behalf in the coming years.
Second, I figure 300 or fewer PAs. |
| 9:19 |
Will Schoop stick once Machado returns from injury? |
| 9:20 |
: I think he certainly will stick on the roster, and if he shows that he can hit at all, he’ll be the starter. Ryan Flaherty isn’t standing in his way. They demoted Flaherty to play Alexi Casilla at times last season.
|
| 9:20 |
: And when I say starter, I mean at second base, not third.
|
| 9:20 |
: Not sure, but I did try to pick him up today (got out bid).
|
| 9:20 |
Thoughts on Lombardozzi? Decent minor league numbers, just 25. Any chance he could win the BAL 2B job? |
| 9:21 |
: There’s a chance, but Schoop will have to fall flat first I think.
|
| 9:21 |
: He seems like a lifetime Util player.
|
| 9:21 |
: Agree
|
| 9:21 |
Puig is just silly strong. |
| 9:22 |
: AGREE! I remember people saying he put on weight this spring. I kept trying to figure out where that was on Sunday night, because he still looks like a brick sh*thouse to me.
|
| 9:22 |
: The Dodgers are just getting way over analyzed right now.
|
| 9:22 |
how much spare budget do you keep in Ottoneu throughout a season? |
| 9:23 |
: I aim for 25-30 dollars. Most teams seem to have 0. The extra dollars are great for trades.
|
| 9:23 |
: I have $28 right now, and will spend it liberally. I find that generally, if I run out money, I can always make a trade and pick up a couple dollars here and there in a loan.
|
| 9:24 |
HIMYM finally… thoughts |
| 9:24 |
: Googling……
|
| 9:24 |
: God I hate that show. My wife watches it. I heard the finale was terrible. It made me happy to hear that.
|
| 9:24 |
: How I Met Your Mother, Jeff.
|
| 9:25 |
Jeff is the mother?????? |
| 9:25 |
: That would have been a world class ending.
|
| 9:25 |
: could care less. It is baseball season. Regular TV is worthless for 6 months.
|
| 9:25 |
HIMYM is the most average, underwhelming “comedy” ever. |
| 9:25 |
HIMYM is replacement level, at best. |
| 9:25 |
Jeff died! |
| 9:25 |
I’m starting to regret my Hutchinson love earlier in this chat. |
| 9:26 |
is there such a thing as a good network sitcom these days? non animated obviously; only funny shows are cable (sunny, curb, californication) |
| 9:26 |
: I really enjoy Brooklyn 99, and Parks & Rec as well, although P&R is waning without Rashida Jones.
|
| 9:26 |
Please rank these end of rotation starters for AL only: John Danks, Miguel Gonzalez, Zach McAllister, Erasmo Ramirez, Carlos Carrasco. Thanks! |
| 9:27 |
: McAllister, Danks, Carrasco, Gonzalez, Ramirez.
|
| 9:27 |
: Pretty much the way you have them. Carrasco could vault over them if he puts it together, but I’m not holding my breath there.
|
| 9:27 |
Rashida Jones was redundant. Rob Lowe was a real loss. |
| 9:27 |
: I mean, Rob Lowe has nice cheekbones, but … no. Disagree.
|
| 9:28 |
Who should be trying harder to sign Stephen Drew, Blue Jays or Tigers? |
| 9:28 |
: Blue Jays
|
| 9:29 |
: Harder, Blue Jays, Needs him more = Tigers.
|
| 9:29 |
Anybody else having issues with MLB.tv on Chrome? No game will load past 33%… |
| 9:29 |
: I’m not having video loading issues, but my audio has been spotty.
|
| 9:29 |
: Yes.
|
| 9:30 |
: I had to use my wife’s computer.
|
| 9:30 |
: (Trying to find questions that aren’t about CC Sabathia)
|
| 9:30 |
Wise to trade jzimm for sonny in a forever keeper league? |
| 9:31 |
: Don’t touch Gray, velo way down.
|
| 9:31 |
: Hmmmmmmmm….I like the gamble. I guess it’s a floor vs. ceiling question. Zimmermann has a great floor (3 wins or so), but Gray’s ceiling is probably higher.
|
| 9:32 |
Is that velo April velos or average across the season? |
| 9:32 |
: 2013 season vs. last start
|
| 9:32 |
| 9:32 |
Watching Fernandez’s slider and Wainwright’s makes me wonder…who has the best of each pitch in the bigs among starters? (i.e. best curveball, change, split, etc.) |
| 9:33 |
: Change = Hamels
|
| 9:33 |
: Split = Koji
|
| 9:34 |
: Jeff is better at these.
|
| 9:34 |
Cutter – Jansen |
| 9:34 |
it says starters you sillyheads |
| 9:34 |
Slider – Corbin |
| 9:35 |
Curve – Kimbrel |
| 9:35 |
Felix’s change is better |
| 9:35 |
WIll Corey Dickerson be relevant this year? |
| 9:36 |
: At some point, just figuring out when will be key.
|
| 9:36 |
: He will, but it will take the Rockies a few months to realize he’s the best option. They started Blackmon and then Stubbs. They started Stubbs against a right-handed pitcher over Dickerson. The Rockies have no clue.
|
| 9:36 |
Why are there always so few games on Tuesdays? |
| 9:37 |
: They put in a break with cold teams so there is an opening day.
|
| 9:37 |
: Actually, Tuesdays and Wednesdays generally have more games than Monday and Thursday, because Monday and Thursday are the biggest travel days.
BUT – Today there are fewer, because for most open-air ballparks, they put an off day after Opening Day just in case there’s a rain out. |
| 9:38 |
The Rockies have given up 11 runs to that Marlins offense they obviously have a clue, how to do absolutely everything wrong. They should embrace George Costanza’s opposite ism. |
| 9:38 |
: Not a bad idea.
|
| 9:38 |
Martin Perez looking pretty damn solid |
| 9:39 |
: He is more “confident” going Day 2
|
| 9:39 |
: It’s four innings against a Phillies team that left Domonic Brown on the bench.
|
| 9:39 |
The Rockies just take some sick pleasure in watching that thing in the Marlins outfield. |
| 9:40 |
: Who doesn’t?
|
| 9:40 |
Did the Yankees slot Tanaka as the 4th starter because they thought they would sweep the Astros regardless? |
| 9:41 |
: I think people will be a bit disappointed in Tanaka. I could see Kuroda out perform him.
|
| 9:41 |
: Maybe they figured some of the Japanese media wouldn’t travel to Canada for the Blue Jays series? Or that they wanted him to start the Blue Jays home opener for some reason? You got me.
|
| 9:41 |
AJ Burnett this season – closer to 2012-13 (great) or 2010-11 (omg awful) form? |
| 9:41 |
: 2012-13
|
| 9:42 |
: Awful, his magic is done.
|
| 9:42 |
dj lemahieu over under 25 sb |
| 9:42 |
: Under. He doesn’t even have 25 SB in his major league career.
|
| 9:42 |
: Under, but not sure why.
|
| 9:43 |
Will we have baseball in OAK tonight?! I need both starters to pitch! |
| 9:43 |
: I’m seeing on Twitter that it was rained out, which sucks, because I had Kazmir going in that game.
|
| 9:43 |
Fair or foul? Replay at the Trop… |
| 9:43 |
Is it wrong to be really disappointed by how empty a bunch of the stadiums are today? I guess not everyone is hopeful in April? |
| 9:44 |
: Not everyone is warm in April.
|
| 9:44 |
: Yankees score.
|
| 9:44 |
Drop Tim Hudson for any of these…Jenrry Mejia, M. Perez, Paxton, Carrasco, or Erik Johnson? |
| 9:44 |
: Perez, probably.
|
| 9:44 |
: Perez
|
| 9:45 |
So with Ramos hurt, the top waiver options are Salty, Martin, Ruiz, Arencibia, and Navarro. Standard 5×5, who should I pick up? |
| 9:46 |
: Salty
|
| 9:46 |
: Martin seems like he would kill you least. Maybe Navarro or Ruiz.
|
| 9:46 |
should the astros try and lock up castro for the long haul, seems like a catcher like him has alot of value |
| 9:46 |
: I think that given his injury history that he is a guy with whom you go year to year.
|
| 9:46 |
: I would never lock up a catcher unless it is with a Sal Perez deal.
|
| 9:47 |
: Obviously, whatever the Royals do is good, right Jeff?
|
| 9:47 |
If Cameron is the dad of FGs, and Eno is the teenager going through his awkward years…who are you? |
| 9:48 |
: I think Jeff and I would be the creepy uncles who show up to holiday dinners already half in the bag.
|
| 9:48 |
: Only half?
|
| 9:48 |
You get a chance to watch Sabathia’s first 2 IP? Really did not look good. |
| 9:48 |
: I did not, sorry.
|
| 9:49 |
: Nope, I was watching a High school triangle before the chat.
|
| 9:49 |
This chat is probably the most entertaining but least informative chat on Fangraphs. But that’s why I show up for it. |
| 9:49 |
: We try to please.
|
| 9:49 |
: I think that’s a compliment, but I’m not sure.
|
| 9:49 |
Speaking of catchers… Lavarnway, Vazquez or Butler? |
| 9:49 |
: I hear that Vazquez is the guy. (this was a Red Sox question, btw)
|
| 9:50 |
: Bullet to the head?
|
| 9:50 |
Ozuna looked good yesterday. Is he someone with upside or was that a fluke? |
| 9:50 |
: He could be OK.
|
| 9:50 |
: Ozuna DID look good yesterday. Unfortunately, not every pitcher will miss location by two feet like De La Rosa did. When they do though, he seems to have enough power to jack them out.
|
| 9:51 |
: On that home run pitch, De La Rosa literally was aiming for six inches off the outside edge, and put the ball right on the fat part of the inner edge. It was pretty bad.
|
| 9:51 |
Wong for Melkey 20 team league |
| 9:51 |
: Depends on needs. Seems fairish.
|
| 9:52 |
: I’m not really at all sold on Wong, and think you could do just fine picking up anyone else on the waiver wire, so ya, I think there’s more upside in Melky.
|
| 9:52 |
Vin Scully just referred to Seth Smith as a homerun hitter |
| 9:53 |
: Well, he does have a career 11.6% HR/FB. That’s pretty good…
|
| 9:53 |
we’re really going to bitch about Vin Scully now? there aren’t more egregious things going on in the baseball world? |
| 9:54 |
: Also that.
|
| 9:54 |
Hak Ju Lee or Matt Davidson? |
| 9:54 |
: Davidson – Lee has two knee surgeries and his value is mainly from SB
|
| 9:55 |
: Jeff and I were talking about Lee earlier today. My feeling is this — Escobar has a cheap club option for 2015 ($5 M), so assuming that is picked up, Lee won’t get a shot at legit PT until his age 25 season.
|
| 9:55 |
“Beat LA” – the laziest chant in sports. |
| 9:55 |
: Sometimes lazy chants are the best chants.
|
| 9:55 |
: Yankees Suck?
|
| 9:55 |
Two knee surgeries? Pah. |
| 9:56 |
: No, I don’t participate in that chant any longer…..unless I’m three or four sheets to the wind. Then maybe.
|
| 9:56 |
: And then only if someone mentions Paul O’Neill. I still hate Paul O’Neill.
|
| 9:56 |
: And Scott Brosius. OK, moving on.
|
| 9:56 |
I love Ottoneu in theory, but the interface is rough. And should I be getting real time updates/stat changes, or does my computer just suck? |
| 9:56 |
: There is a Live tab.
|
| 9:57 |
: Well, there is a LIVE button that should be showing you your team’s scoring in real time, and the league’s home page updates the standings in real time as well. So not sure what you mean there. Do those not work for you?
|
| 9:57 |
Aaron Boone was pretty hateable |
| 9:57 |
Jedd Gyorko has some wicked chipmunk cheeks |
| 9:57 |
Scott Brosius has the head of an Easter Island statue. But with ginger hair. Horrid. |
| 9:57 |
‘Hey, you suck’. generic and ignorant, the pride of Univ. of Maryland |
| 9:57 |
oleee oleee olle oolleee by Montreal fans (hockey) |
| 9:57 |
Parnell is probably done right? What is his timetable if he were to avoid Tommy John? |
| 9:58 |
: One for Jeff.
|
| 9:58 |
: 2015 still, fork him IMO. I plan on writing up his outing for MASH on Thursday.
|
| 9:58 |
praise be the ‘live’ tab, thanks fellas. |
| 9:59 |
Dee Gordon can’t even bunt |
| 9:59 |
: I was still impressed with how fast he got down the line, at least.
|
| 9:59 |
When I was at USC, we used to chant “Big Balls Pete” to try to get Carroll to go for it on fourth down. ‘Twas a good chant. |
| 9:59 |
Alex Wood is dealing in Milwaukee. And you know what, it might turn out that Gattis has more value behind the plate than in the batter’s box. |
| 9:59 |
: That seems like a backhanded compliment RE: Gattis.
|
| 10:00 |
I Just dealt Kemp Alexie and Howie Kendrick for Hanran 1. Good deal? 2 Who do I pick up for a 2b I have none 20 team h2h League |
| 10:01 |
: 1. If you mean Hanley Ramirez and not Joel Hanrahan, then yes, that’s a great deal.
2. I mean, I don’t really have any way of knowing who is and isn’t available, but maybe one of Schoop or Semien slipped through the cracks? |
| 10:01 |
: I could see it, but not sure in the that deep of league. Will you have to trot out Roberts at 2B
|
| 10:01 |
Zach Duke is still in baseball. Who knew? |
| 10:01 |
: Not even Zach Duke.
|
| 10:02 |
Percentage chance Nate Jones becomes closer this year? |
| 10:02 |
: Kind of an odd question. Are you asking for what percent of the year, or what are his chances of being the closer at any point during the season? To the former, I’ll say 40-60%, so to the latter, obviously 100%.
|
| 10:02 |
: 66%, Basically a 33% chance that Lin. stays healthy and productive.
|
| 10:03 |
Alex Wood’s been impressive for the Braves tonight. Any of you have him in your fantasy teams? |
| 10:03 |
: Yes, two leagues, I liked the upside.
|
| 10:03 |
: I have him in our Ottoneu staff league. I got him cheap during a waiver wire auction last year and hung on to him. Not huge expectations because I’m not sure he’ll stay healthy, but I’m confident in putting him out there every time.
|
| 10:04 |
Valverde…deal him now while his value is high? |
| 10:04 |
: but in one of those leagues I had CC going, so there is that.
|
| 10:04 |
: Absolutely. Only a matter of time before he explodes and Vic Black or someone else gets the job.
|
| 10:05 |
: Unless you really need saves. Even 10 extra could be huge in a deep league.
|
| 10:05 |
Why are the Phillies benching Dominic Brown? |
| 10:05 |
: Matt Cain doing his damndest to give that 4-run lead right back.
|
| 10:05 |
: Because they are the Phillies
|
| 10:05 |
: My guess RE: Phillies is that they want to play everyone in the opening series, and this was an easy game to bench Brown because it’s a lefty on the mound. Hopefully it won’t continue.
|
| 10:05 |
Kershaw misses all of april. Does it hurt his Cy Young odds? |
| 10:06 |
: Yes.
|
| 10:06 |
: It’s pretty rare that a starting pitcher gets the Cy without pitching a full season, so he’d have to come back and be incredibly incredible to net the Cy this year, I’d think.
|
| 10:06 |
: Gyorko vs Jansen
|
| 10:07 |
Should I be concerned at all about how Liriano seemed to tire after the 5th inning yesterday in his start? Or is it nothing to worry about going forward? |
| 10:07 |
: I wouldn’t be too worried about it. He threw a lot of pitches because he was striking so many dudes out, and it was the first start of the season.
|
| 10:07 |
: A bit, I would see if he had similar problems in the past.
|
| 10:07 |
o/u 19.5 starts by Buchholz this season |
| 10:08 |
: Over. Barely. I think you have that line set properly.
|
| 10:08 |
: And when I say barely, I mean, like 20-21.
|
| 10:08 |
: I would say 20
|
| 10:08 |
Freeman for NL MVP? 2 bombs tonight |
| 10:08 |
: He’s definitely going to be on the list if he keeps this up.
|
| 10:08 |
: They should just give it to him now.
|
| 10:09 |
: Gyorko pops a lazy fall ball to shallow center and Dick Enberg says he just missed it. OK, Dick.
|
| 10:09 |
Paul who do you think the Sox would give the first start to? Workman? Webster? Ranauado? |
| 10:09 |
: I think they kept Workman and Capuano around for just this reason.
|
| 10:10 |
Does Abe Almonte hit leadoff all year long? |
| 10:10 |
: No, I hope not.
|
| 10:10 |
: I think he’ll hit leadoff until he does poorly, and then they’ll move on to Ackley or Saunders or someone else.
|
| 10:10 |
: 1st and 3rd, 1 out for Padres in ninth against Jansen. BASEBALL!
|
| 10:10 |
: Alonso actually went first to third on a single to center.
|
| 10:11 |
A lot of talk about Austin Hedges in SD. Is he worth looking at for fantasy or is his value mostly incredible defense? |
| 10:11 |
: I think the latter.
|
| 10:11 |
: All D for now.
|
| 10:11 |
Rendon going to be worth $5 (+$1 drop of Forsythe) I’m claiming him at in Ottoneu? Everyone’s been talking about him but I’m still wary |
| 10:11 |
: I think Rendon is probably worth double that in Ottoneu.
|
| 10:12 |
: Get him especially with the MI position.
|
| 10:12 |
: Wow, Denorfia swung at one at his chin for strike 3.
|
| 10:12 |
Please rank ROS (12 team, 5×5, roto): Paxton, Eovaldi, Skaggs, Morrow. Thanks! |
| 10:13 |
: Wow, our first ROS of the year!
|
| 10:13 |
: If Morrow can stayed taped and glued together, then he’s the best option, and then I like Eovaldi, Skaggs and Paxton.
|
| 10:14 |
: Skaggs, Eovaldi, Paxton, Morrow.

Should I start Jose Abreu over Kyle Seager or Everth Cabrera in my league? |
| 10:14 |
: Assuming you mean at UTIL, then yes. I always want as much power as I can get from my UTIL spot.
|
| 10:14 |
: yes, depending on your needs.
|
| 10:15 |
If you were Ben Cherington, what kind of contract are you offering Jon Lester? |
| 10:15 |
: One that is for four years, max.
|
| 10:15 |
: Year to year.
|
| 10:15 |
Really don’t get why Angels fans boo Cano |
| 10:16 |
: Angels fans are almost as sensitive as Braves fans.
|
| 10:16 |
: Wow, Jansen walks Grandal. Ducks on the pond for pinch hitter Hundley.
|
| 10:17 |
: This seems like a good time to mention my article from today where I detailed how the Padres should have Blanks on the roster instead of Hundley:
|
| 10:17 |
Cano killed the Angels in the 05 DS |
| 10:17 |
And the 09 ALCS |
| 10:17 |
: Yeah, that’ll happen. No reason to boo the guy.
|
| 10:18 |
Should I be worried about Cliff Lee? I kinda need him to be an ace |
| 10:18 |
: I would not be worried about Cliff Lee, no.
|
| 10:18 |
is year to year a viable option though? why would lester do that? |
| 10:18 |
: Not yet.
|
| 10:19 |
JANSEN SHOWED EMOTION |
| 10:19 |
: Wow, Hundley struck out, no way. Imagine if they had someone who could hit the ball, like Kyle Blanks perhaps.
|
| 10:19 |
BOO EVERYONE |
| 10:19 |
HUGS FOR EVERYONE |
| 10:20 |

Well I’m disappointed. I asked a question as soon as it started and it never got answered.
My apologies. We had far more questions than we could answer tonight. What was your question? I can answer it now real quick.
I didn’t realize that many people go on this site… anyways, I was wondering about a hypothetical: A team of 9 Miguel Cabrera clones and an average pitching staff. Good news is the offensive output; bad news is the defense. What kind of record would you expect of this team in a 162 game season?
Yeah, that’s probably why it wasn’t answered.
The real questions is who would win in football: A team of mini Mike Diktas or the 1991 New York Giants?
It doesn’t include defense, but you can try baseball-sim.com to pit a team of Cabreras against any pitcher of your choosing and get team / individual results.
