The Los Angeles Dodgers are seeking an entry-level software developer for the team’s Baseball Research and Development (R&D) group. The Developer will work closely with the team’s Senior Developers to build the decision support systems used throughout Baseball Operations. We are looking to find someone who has an eye for user interaction design and strong mobile/web software development skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and enhance decision support systems and tools for key decision-makers in Baseball Operations.
  • Translate requirements from multiple departments (amateur and pro scouting, player development, coaching) into functional design specifications.
  • Build and test scalable web, native, and mobile applications.
  • Write scripts to support data collection, automation, and report generation from various sources (MLB data feeds, camera and radar tracking data, college stats).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with object-oriented application development (Java/C# preferred) and scripting (Python preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to user interaction design for web and/or mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of baseball rules and advanced statistics.
