Job Posting: Tampa Bay Rays TrackMan Stringers (Operators)

To be clear, there are two job postings here.

Position: Tampa Bay Rays TrackMan Stringers (Operators)

Location: Princeton, W.V.

Description:
TrackMan Stringers (operators) will be responsible for running the TrackMan system for Princeton Rays’ home games in Princeton, W.V. The number of games each Stringer works varies by week. Stringer(s) will start on or around June 28.

Responsibilities:

  • Work home games (at H.P. Hunnicutt Field) as assigned; arriving approx. one half-hour before game time.
  • Responsible for setting up rosters and tagging information.
  • Will log information for the entire game – monitoring the system and making any changes throughout the game (i.e. roster changes, defensive substitutions, etc.).
  • Responsible for troubleshooting system issues with TrackMan, fixing any errors, and uploading the game to the TrackMan site.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidate must be motivated, well organized, and detail orientated.
  • Qualified candidate must have basic, working knowledge of baseball.
  • Qualified candidate must have basic computer skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Chrome.
  • Candidate must be able to regularly attend games in Princeton, W.V.
  • Previous experience using TrackMan software is preferred but not required.

TrackMan Stringers (operators) will be responsible for running the TrackMan system for Hudson Valley Renegades’ home games in Hudson Valley, N.Y. The number of games each Stringer works varies by week. Stringer(s) will start on or around June 21.

Responsibilities:

  • Work home games (at Dutchess Stadium) as assigned; arriving approx. one half-hour before game time.
  • Responsible for setting up rosters and tagging information.
  • Will log information for the entire game – monitoring the system and making any changes throughout the game (i.e. roster changes, defensive substitutions, etc.).
  • Responsible for troubleshooting system issues with TrackMan, fixing any errors, and uploading the game to the TrackMan site.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.

When I first read the title I thought this was some type of joke related to the “wires” that caused the false home run call in Tampa Bay the other day.
