Jonah Keri FanGraphs Chat – 7/18/11

Why do you (Jonah) post so many comments/questions where the answer is; I’m not a prospect expert or some other non-answer? We tune in to get your expert opinion and then get a bunch of these questions/answers. If it’s not your intention to answer a question then why post it? What are your thoughts on Ryan Zimmerman ROS? I don’t know, it depends on his health isn’t an answer I care to hear. And posting the question is useless also. If healthy my (expert) opinion is 300/350/500 with 10 home runs or 220/320/400 with 5 bombs because he’ll get injured again are both answers. And that’s what we tune in for, your expert opinion. I can give many other examples but you get the drift.
“And that’s what we tune in for, your expert opinion.”
Here’s a thought: find another expert, one that suits your tastes better. Don’t forget to ask for a refund first. The rest of us are happy with the current arrangement.
Normally I’d agree, Jonah’s chats are often pretty light-weight, but this one only had like one such question (Hak-Ju Lee), and it was posted specifically to deter other prospect questions.
