Minor League Affiliate Fellow – 2025

Summary:
The St. Louis Cardinals are currently seeking candidates for the Minor League Affiliate Fellowship position to be located at a domestic minor league affiliate. The Minor League Affiliate Fellow will manage all aspects of video and technology at these locations in supporting the minor league coaching staff (manager, hitting coach, and pitching coach, etc.). The data collected from video and technology will be utilized to provide feedback to players for development.

Pre-game this position will manage distribution, set up and usage of all baseball technology. During the game this position will manage technology resources for the minor league coaches from the dugout. Post-game this position will ensure all data and video collected from the day is available for reporting & analysis and creating reports for players and coaches as required. This position will work directly with the Video & Technology Department and reports to the relevant minor league manager for day-to-day responsibilities at the affiliate.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a strong work ethic and impressive intellect. The position is a seasonal job for the 2025 season only, but may lead to full-time employment in Video & Technology or elsewhere within Baseball Operations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage baseball technology and video capture at the affiliate (e.g. Trackman, Blast Motion, Edgertronic Camera, etc.).
  • During the game, depending on staff needs:
    • Manage in-game capture of technology and video from the dugout
    • Quality assurance of the video and data collected for analyses
    • Setup video camcorders for game recording
  • Communicate any implementation issues to Video & Technology Coordinator that are not remediated through initial troubleshooting
  • Attend Spring Training and travel with assigned minor league team on the road throughout the season

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to use and troubleshoot baseball or sport science technology (like pairing portable trackman to an Edgertronic camera, syncing wearable technology to a mobile device, etc.)
  • Familiar with and/or demonstrate the willingness to learn technology such as Blast Motion, Trackman, and video integration
  • Postgraduate or college senior available to start work during Spring Training

Job Description:
The Associate Analyst, Player Development Analytics is responsible for helping to drive development plans for one or multiple minor league affiliates.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform thorough research analysis on Mets players to help Player Development build and maintain individual Player Plans

  • Communicate analysis on players’ biggest opportunities for improvements to coaches and Player Development leadership

  • Serve as the main liaisons between Player Development and Baseball Analytics

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience

  • Experience with baseball technology, including but not limited to Blast Motion, Hawk-Eye, KinaTrax, and Trackman

  • Significant experience in R, Python, or similar, as well as proficiency in SQL

  • Statistical modeling experience is a strong plus

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus

  • Must be able to travel domestically

Description:

Description:
The A’s are seeking a seasonal Minor League Video Assistant for the 2025 season at each of the minor league affiliates. The ideal candidate will be available to work home and road games traveling with a minor league affiliate team while handling video charting and other technical matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Arrive several hours prior to each game to set up cameras and input rosters and lineups.
  • Be available before games to film bullpens, batting practice, early work, and help players and staff with any video/technology related requests.
  • Chart each home game using Trackman software.
  • Review pitch/game data for any errors at conclusion of game and upload data to TrackMan system.
  • Review questionable pitches with the video to make sure the data going into our system is as accurate as possible.
  • Communicate with support and the Athletics front office about technical issues that may come up.
  • Import video from cameras into editing software (BATS) to sync and cut up the game’s video.
  • Upload video to the A’s proprietary scouting software.
  • Work with and assist the coaching staff and players with video and technology requests.
  • Manage various technologies to assist with Player Development.

Requirements:

  • Must be organized and have strong attention to detail.
  • Have a basic familiarity of Microsoft Office and Various Web Browsers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and problem solve IT or other technical issues.
  • Prior experience with Trackman or other computerized scoring software is preferred, but not required. 
  • Flexibility to work extensive hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the minor league baseball season.
  • Ability to attend Spring Training in Mesa, AZ facilities.
  • Ability to work at one of the Athletics’ minor league affiliates for the minor league season at one of the following affiliates (Las Vegas, NV; Midland,TX; Lansing, MI; Stockton, CA; Mesa, AZ; La Victoria, Dominican Republic).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and maintain robust predictive models and data pipelines to generate insights for player evaluation, acquisition, development, and performance optimization.

As part of the Baseball Research and Development Department, the associate will work on dedicated projects to deliver research and tools to improve organizational decision-making. Intern, Minor League Development

Reports To: Major League Assistant Video Coordinator and Major League Video Coordinator

Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Timeline: The Seattle Mariners are seeking Minor League Development Interns for all Mariners Minor League Affiliates. Must be available to start by March 3rd, 2025. The expected end date is determined by the conclusion of the 2025 Minor League season. Positions will be based at Mariners Affiliates; AAA Tacoma, AA Arkansas, A+ Everett, A- Modesto, and Rookie level Peoria.

Primary Objective: Responsible for coordinating day-to-day video and technology operations associated with assigned Minor League team. This includes, but is not limited to capturing, editing, and distributing video for Minor League Coaching Staff and players, in addition to providing Advance Scouting reports prior to each home/road contest, and operating all relevant baseball technologies throughout the course of the season both at home and traveling with the club on the road.

Essential Functions:

  • Capture, tag and upload video for assigned Minor League Affiliate using BATS and other related software for all home and road contests during regular season/post-season play.
  • Collect video and data from bullpens, batting practice and defensive work.
  • Coordinate use of performance science equipment (Portable and Stadium Trackman, Hawk-Eye, Edgertronic, Blast, etc.) and provide results to coaches and staff.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing Advance Scouting reports and tools prior to each series.
  • Support affiliate Trackman intern and coordinate data collection and quality control processes.
  • Assist coaching staff with miscellaneous video and data-related projects.
  • Serve as team point-of-contact for technological troubleshooting.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Prior experience with BATS video charting software, TruMedia, PitchBase, Portable Trackman, Edgertronic cameras, etc. strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to correctly identify pitch types.
