Select Televised Games
Chicago AL at Los Angeles AL | 15:05 ET
Right-hander Garrett Richards makes the start for the Angels in this game. He was featured in a post here from February regarding the sorts of qualities that might make a pitcher The Next Michael Pineda — mostly owing to his excellent velocity (he sits at 94-95 mph) and control (his minor-league walk rates have always been around 7%).

Oakland at Milwaukee | 15:05 ET
Left-hander Tom Milone makes his second appearance and first start of the spring for Oakland, after recording three strikeouts, zero walks, and one home-run allowed in 2.0 innings on March 2nd against Seattle. Milone’s ZiPS projections: 159.0 IP, 6.45 K/9, 1.87 BB/9, 0.74 HR/9, 4.02 ERA, 3.28 FIP. And his Steamer one, too: 135.0 IP, 6.42 K/9, 2.12 BB/9, 1.00 HR/9, 3.93 ERA, 3.76 FIP.

Video: Garrett Richards Throwing Hard
Here’s Garrett Richards’ first strikeout as a major leaguer, on some manner of 95 mph fastball. (Our PITCHf/x data shows that he throws a four-seamer and cutter; Brooks Baseball shows four-seamer and sinker. In either case, he throws a type of fastball that has almost zero armside run and ca. 15 inches of rise.)
Crowdsourcing Broadcasters: Toronto Radio
Recently, we released the results of our television broadcaster rankings — itself the product of reader crowdsourcing that started in late November. Now, FanGraphs is asking readers to rate the radio broadcast teams for all 30 major-league clubs (Click here for more on this project.)
Rate other teams: Washington.
Carson Cistulli has published a book of aphorisms called Spirited Ejaculations of a New Enthusiast.
I’ll put the over/under at 500 ballots for Toronto Radio. Most Blue Jays blogs link articles from FanGraphs daily and the radio team of Howarth/Ashby is far superior to anything on TV.
I’d go “over” if the O/U was 1000!
