Meeting of the Corey Kluber Society, Again
The Purpose of This Post
The purpose of this post is to announce another meeting — in this case, at 1:05pm ET today (Sunday) — of the Corey Kluber Society.

About the Corey Kluber Society
The Corey Kluber Society (CKS) — founded either last week or at the dawn of the Holocene epoch, depending — is composed of individuals all bound by their singular fascination with Cleveland right-hander Corey Kluber. The Society’s constitution, were it ever written, would very likely note that said individuals are dedicated to promoting awareness of Kluber’s talents despite what fascist metrics like “win-loss record” and “ERA” might otherwise suggest.

Minutes from Most Recent Meeting
Minutes from the most recent meeting of the Society — which include discussion of Kluber’s very able June 11th start, for example, and also that asshole Steve who always shows up late — are available here.

Corey Kluber Awareness
With regard to Corey Kluber, both members and non-members would do well to note that — as of Saturday night, at least — Kluber was fourth among 111 qualified pitchers by park-adjusted xFIP and third by strikeout rate over the course of the last month.

Announcement
Before we begin, it should be noted that there’s an Oldsmobile in the parking lot with its lights on. Appears to be an burgundy Oldsmobile of some sort. Probably a 2001 or -02 or -03 Aurora. Definitely a burgundy Aurora of some sort.

Here’s slow-motion and inspirational footage of Kluber’s curveball from his most recent start against Texas:

Today’s MLB.TV Free Game
Milwaukee at Cincinnati | 13:10 ET
Wily Peralta (74.2 IP, 111 xFIP-, 0.2 WAR) faces Johnny Cueto (37.1 IP, 82 xFIP, 0.7 WAR). The latter is making his first start in over two weeks due to either a lat or shoulder injury. As in previous seasons, his WAR as calculated with runs allowed (1.4) is considerably higher than his WAR as calculated with FIP (0.7).

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Milwaukee Radio.

Today’s Complete Schedule
Here’s the complete schedule for all of today’s games, with our very proprietary watchability (NERD) scores for each one. Pitching probables and game times aggregated from MLB.com and RotoWire. The average NERD Game Score for today is 5.6.

Personal note to the user who goes by such names as, e.g., Brazen Reader, King of Byelorussian Crunkers, etc.:

Yesterday you said you had finished a 750-page book on the culture/history of Sicily. What book, and would you recommend this?

Hmm. There ought to be a FanGraphs book club. I just finished the novel Swamplandia! and can highly recommend it.
