Minutes of the Corey Kluber Society Meeting — 16 June 2013
Called to Order
Meeting called to order in Cleveland, Ohio, at approximately 1:05pm ET by umpire Mark Carlson.

Members Present
As noted previously, not entirely clear. Although, one assumes that all members who are present are bound by their dual interests in Truth and Beauty.

Reading of Agenda
Motion
To approve the agenda for 16 June 2013 — which agenda mostly concerns watching Corey Kluber’s start from a couch somewhere.

Vote
Motion carried.

Resolved
Agenda for the meeting on 16 June 2013 approved without modification.

Business: First Motion
Motion from Carson Cistulli
In terms of raising awareness in society of Corey Kluber, members should consider noting in public that Kluber recorded the third-lowest xFIP of all starters on Sunday, and also the highest WAR, both as calculated using FIP and also runs allowed. It’s also probably worth mentioning that Kluber has posted the third-lowest park-adjusted xFIP (63 xFIP-) among 111 qualified starters over the last month.

Vote
Motion carried.

Resolved
Citing Kluber’s defense-independent and also just his regular numbers will help promote Corey Kluber awareness.

Business: Second Motion
Motion from Carson Cistulli
The enterprising internet user who added information regarding the Corey Kluber Society to Kluber’s own Wikipedia page ought to be recognized for his or her efforts.

Vote
Motion carried enthusiastically.

Resolved
Wikipedia user 71.58.106.149 ought to be recognized.

Business: Third Motion
Motion from Carson Cistulli
The internet user who reverted Corey Kluber’s Wikipedia page back to its previous state (i.e. before information regarding the Society was added) was doing so merely out of respect for that site’s integrity and not with any sense of malice directed at or towards the Society.

Vote
Motion carried, but with considerable discussion.

Resolved (Mostly)
The internet user who reverted Kluber’s Wikipedia page is likely not a human manifestation of the abstract concept Evil.

Business: Fourth Motion
Motion from Carson Cistulli
We should all watch the three consecutive strikeouts Kluber recorded in the fourth inning after an error by third baseman John McDonald put runners at first and third with no outs.

Vote
Motion carried.

Resolved
Here’s the first one, via a front-hip two-seamer to Adam LaRoche:

Kluber K 1

And the second one, by means of a slider to Jayson Werth:

Kluber K 2

And then third, a curve to Ian Desmond:

Kluber K 3

Meeting Adjourned
Meeting adjourned at ca. 3:25pm ET.

Today’s MLB.TV Free Game
Kansas City at Cleveland | 19:05 ET
James Shields (100.0 IP, 86 xFIP-, 2.3 WAR) faces Carlos Carrasco (7.2 IP, 161 xFIP- -0.2). The latter, despite poor numbers in both his major-league starts this season, has actually been rather effective at Triple-A Columbus, having recorded a 50:14 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 47.2 innings over 10 appearances (nine starts).

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Cleveland Radio.

Point of order. You can not second a motion after the vote and you can not vote without a second to the motion. Either these motions and resolutions are invalid or the minutes are woefully inadequate.
