There’s really no substitute for love or compassion in our society.
I hope MLB listens to Meg’s and the reactions of other women. I keep hearing “due process”, but MLB would not be denying Bauer his due process rights by putting him on administrative leave. The longer they wait, the more their inaction shows they are not living up to their goal of taking domestic violence seriously.
And what if it is someone who is simply trying to get a pay off from a rich athlete to make the whole thing go away?
But unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any form of innocent until proven guilty in society anymore.
yes, woe is Bauer, who will continue to get paid while on administrative leave per terms of the CBA. what an incredible violation of his rights, smdh. I wish you guys would just stop commenting.
It is not about whether he is getting paid or not. It is about whether he is innocent or guilty. Based on the evidence out so far, it seems innocent at this point.

Have you read the text messages sent between them? Only the two of them know if everything that happened was all consensual, but people jumping to conclusions that it wasn’t, especially after reading the texts, is irresponsible.
It was already well past that when the story broke.
The Dodgers are 1 of my least favorite teams and TB seems to be a self centered, over paid knucklehead. I agree that the administrative leave is a reasonable response to this situation. With that being said, I find it despicable that both Ben and Meg have painted him guilty of a crime and have already passed judgement on this incident. Wait until all the details have come out and then have this conversation if it is proved to have happened as the alleged victim has described. There are a few scenarios that could have played out here that are not illegal and just are more deviant then our common social norms. My gut tells me there was an illegal act here, but to defame someone before all the details are known seems to be irresponsible and against the fairness and respect that both Ben and Meg portend to advocate for (it should be given to both parties initially). Is it because he is male? Because he is rich and famous? Because he is a knucklehead? There have been several “rush to judgement” conviction by the media and general society in the last several years and when the real details come to light, the event is swept under a rug without any attempt to correct the record in the public domain by the ones to jump the gun. All should be considered innocent until proven guilty. Please be responsible stewards of journalism because if the accused is innocent of a crime this kind reporting sticks with the accused even if proven innocent and will crush that persons life for the rest of their life.

Don’t be obtuse. Either you can’t read and comprehend or you’re purposely misconstruing what I wrote to be provocative. I said no such thing.
Bauer did genuinely unspeakable things to that woman, but what made me momentarily irate and what will burn the event into my brain, is that he made Meg cry.
Maybe I’m just weird, but even the most tenuous and illusory personal connection exponentially amplifies my emotional response to an event. All of which is to say that, assuming I’m not alone, Meg sharing that level of emotion was both appreciated and productive, and the antithesis of something for which she should ever apologize.
