Eno Sarris: Talking Mets always gets me all riled up. I need reggae. This is the sound of my youth:

Comment From Guest FBS, Stone IRS Stout, a local DIPA, and Tank 7 were my meal-time and post-dinner treats last night. My head help
12:00
Eno Sarris: Well it was a good night at least!
12:00
Comment From Ceetar No way I should keep David Wright at $51 in Ottoneu is there?
12:00
Eno Sarris: yup nope
12:00
Comment From Jake deBomb Please tell me that your Mets “plan” was an early April Fools joke.
12:01
Eno Sarris: I squeezed three to four wins out the roster without spending a dime. You know they’re not going to spend a dime.
12:01
Comment From Ceetar Also my beer shipment broke AGAIN. wrapped each bottle in bubble wrap, all inside a giant garbage bag. wrapped the box 12 times with packing tape. what gives?
12:01
Eno Sarris: You know, Matt has tried to send me stuff many times and they haven’t come through. Could be someone at your shipping center has spotted you. I’d try a new place.
12:02
Comment From That One Guy What can the Tigers do about CF?
12:02
Eno Sarris: They still have Davis. There are worse starting center fielders in baseball, I think.
12:02
Comment From Mark Cargo to the Mets ?
12:03
Eno Sarris: I don’t see it. They’re building a full roster the slow way and the only interesting piece I want to let go is Niese, and you’re not getting Cargo built on Niese.
12:03
Comment From Dan What’s a realistic return for Ian Kennedy? Someone like Nomar Mazara or Aaron Judge or can AJ Preller dream a little bigger?
12:04
Eno Sarris: For one year? I doubt you get Judge, especially from IPK’s old team. I’d set sights a little lower.
12:04
Comment From Tony B. How good were the 2014 Royals?
12:05
Eno Sarris: Pretty good but not great. They made the postseason with two offensive strengths that are the least-correlated with win percentage in contact rate and baserunning.
12:06
Comment From john Eno! The mets dodged a bullet when the rox offered cuddyer a QO… However, now I hear they are in on Morse! At what point will you admit that sandy alderson has no clue when it comes to evaluating major league talent properly?
12:06
Eno Sarris: He’s rummaging around in the bargain bin. den Dekker is projected to be below replacement, so even a one-win Morse would be a big upgrade. It’s not the worst bat, just the worst glove and worst baserunning. And I love the dude.
12:07
Comment From Marty Do you think Robertson accepts the QO? Seems like a smart move to me, considering expected value in the market for him would be somewhere like 3/30, right?
12:07
Eno Sarris: Reliever market seems to have tanked. But 3/30 might be more appealing to a reliever — guaranteed years are huge for them, considering their yearly up and downs.
12:08
Comment From RotoLando Ha ha! The IT dept finally unblocked Cover-It Live! I can ask anything! … … uh, how are you doing?
12:08
Eno Sarris: Decent night sleep for once!
12:09
Comment From Jim What kind of return can the Phillies expect for Cole Hamels?
12:11
Eno Sarris: I think he can manage 11-12 wins over the next four years. Owed 94 million. That doesn’t make him a young guy that’s cheap that you throw the house at. It’s the kind of acquisition that only the richer teams would make, so whatever the Sox, Yanks, Dodgers might want to throw at him. Maybe the Cubs, since they have money. But I don’t think you get the three best prospects from the Cubs.
12:11
Comment From Dan Verlander for Kemp?
12:11
Eno Sarris: Nah. Verlander owed like $100 mill plus, coming off that season? I doubt it.
12:12
Comment From Marty Current sandwich: Roast beef with creamy six month aged monchego, topped with horseradish mayo. Boom.
12:12
Eno Sarris: PUT IT IN MY BELLY
12:12
Comment From Kretin What should the Angel’s asking price be for Kendrick?
12:14
Eno Sarris: He’s got twice the surplus value of a Daniel Murphy and if he’s available, it’s going to be hard for the Mets to trade Murphy. I think he’s a deadline piece. Maybe both are deadline pieces. Angels are right there, I doubt they trade Kendrick actually.
12:15
Comment From Guest is it otto-new, otto-no, or otto-noy?
12:15
Eno Sarris: Germans would say noy but I think Niv, the creator, says new.
12:15
Comment From Expert trader Ceetar you gotta stop shipping heavy point rocks with your beer once I did that never had a problem again
12:15
Comment From teeth gnash gnash
12:15
Comment From Munchkin Mets fans have Victorino in their non-trade list. (His official nickname would probably be censored here)
12:16
Comment From Ward What’s your take on trying to consolidate talent in a keeper league? If you could only keep one of Hamels and Ellsbury, would you package the two for Adam Jones?
12:16
Eno Sarris: I always want to consolidate talent, but Jones’ work seems so based on athleticism that I’m wary of decline. I’d look for better.
12:17
Comment From Wayne Michael Brantley will be a top __ OF next year?
12:17
Eno Sarris: 50? I see a step back on a career power year at his age.
12:17
Comment From john Way out of the box – mets need power but dont want to commit the years to FA… Chris Carter? The mets clearly don’t value defense, and its not like you can’t almost hide him in left field. Any way that could happen, or is he just so incredibly awful its not worth it?
12:18
Eno Sarris: Right handed… power… it’s not terrible, and with den Dekker, not a bad pairing. It’s all about price, which is why I tried to put in different options for each move. If they’ll take Gee for Carter, even with a small other part, giddyap. If they want a real piece? His defense is terrible, his OBP is terrible because of all the strikeouts, and he’s right-handed.
12:19
Comment From Wayne Keep one: Madison Bumgarner (4th rd), Max Scherzer (5th rd), Corey Kluber (12th rd) or Tyson Ross (14th rd)?
12:19
Eno Sarris: Damn Kluber in the 12th is my pick, eight rounds is great and I wouldn’t want to pick Bumgarner much higher than the third round.
12:19
Comment From zurzles how worried should i be about mccarthy’s shoulder? still an ongoing risk?
12:19
Eno Sarris: He said they’ve never found anything, they just keep looking in there. Maybe the bulking up has helped him.
12:19
Comment From Jon Your plan for the Mets makes sense to me but doesn’t seem to consider trading pitching and/or Murphy to the Red Sox for Allan Craig. Is that because you don’t expect him to be available? He seems like at least as good a fit as Cuddyer would be, no? And he’s inexpensive enough not to foreclose other opportunities to improve as well.
12:22
Eno Sarris: Sure, I think Craig is interesting. Put him in the Aoki mix. If you can get a 1+ win guy back in trade for less money than Colon or Colon+Murphy, then it’s great. Do the sox want Murphy and Colon? I’m not sure. So I think the most likely thing is that they dump Colon for salary relief and not much more. And no, I don’t think the Colon signing was dumb, it’s just that the young pitchers have begun to accumulate and look ready. deGrom, for instance, wasn’t supposed to be this good.
12:22
Comment From Art Vandelay Any truth to the rumor that the Sox offered 20/yr to Pablo?
12:23
Eno Sarris: See, then they won’t need Murph at all. Apparently the Giants FO has factions in it, some want Pablo back even if it costs 20/yr, some want to move Posey to third, spend on pitching.
12:23
Comment From Chris Does Kenta Maeda get posted this offseason? Who goes after him if so?
12:23
Eno Sarris: I thought he definitely wood but last word was that he might not. I think the Cubs, Sox, Yanks and maybe Dodgers would be out in front.
12:24
Comment From Orlando Where does last year sit in Anthony Rizzo’s career? Is there more to come or is that about the best we should hope for?
12:25
Eno Sarris: He’s 25 so I could see a tiny bit more power one year. But in the post-steroid era, Zimm showed that the peak is looking super early. He could still improve defensively, or get more love from the D numbers, and put up a better WAR total, though.
12:25
Comment From Guest Why did the Giants not want a first round draft pick back when they signed Tucker?
12:26
Eno Sarris: Back then they didn’t want to spend that money sometimes. Picks were expensive. Now, they’ve been signing their guys.
12:26
Comment From Jake deBomb if all you got is advocating that the Mets add a bunch of mid-30s retreads in the 5th year of the Alderson FO, that leaves me kind of speechless…
12:27
Eno Sarris: If someone wants Niese ($3m projected surplus value), and will give them something young and interesting, I’m going for it. But I don’t really want them to trade Thor, don’t know if Rafael Montero brings back a star, and they’re not spending money. So I made a plan that spent no money.
12:27
Comment From Jake deBomb propose a Daniel Murphy trade?
12:28
Eno Sarris: I did. By projections, he represents a one-year, $5m surplus, below-average solution for someone at third or second. Looking around the league, I don’t see an obvious partner, nor does Murphy bring back much.
12:29
Comment From Billy Will Heyward get close to 20 HRs and 20 steals? He seems like the annual threat that falls short in that aspect, but it fantastic otherwise.
12:30
Eno Sarris: Over on homers, under on steals. I know he did the reverse, but aging curves of stolen bases, his history, and his age (25) suggest that power more likely to improve than SB total.
12:30
Comment From Wes, NY Current sandwich: TJ’s burrito, not quite warm in the middle.
12:30
Eno Sarris: Um, that’s….
12:30
Comment From Art Vandelay Since Kershaw was listed as one of the top 3 in the NL MVP voting, is it safe to say he won it?
12:30
Eno Sarris: I voted Trout in the FGPOY but that’s a good sign for NL MVP.
12:30
Comment From zurzles is chris sale a reasonable 2nd rounder?
12:31
Eno Sarris: Sure, but not for me. As in, by value, I think he belongs there, but I don’t really do that.
Comment From Guest Please do a post on a slow news day celebrating the best Rotographs headlines of the year. The writers have really upped their game this season. The E-Cab one is my current favorite.
12:31
Eno Sarris: Thank you, that’ll be useful this winter.
12:31
Comment From John Stamos Wood or Arrieta for next year? For career?
12:31
Eno Sarris: Arrieta.
12:31
Comment From Guest What’s your favorite place in the world?
12:32
Eno Sarris: Used to the beach in Negril. But Lanikai in Hawaii is more mellow. For upbeat, I want Barcelona’s bars, Brooklyn’s everything, or the Mission in SF.
12:33
Comment From Rated Rookie That Ken Arneson article was pretty amazing. Did you read it?
Eno Sarris: Although I’d say that there’s ample evidence that lineup diversity is important. We ran a simulator with all Vlads versus half Vlad half … Votto I think, and the half/half simulator won despite both having same wRC+.
12:34
Comment From Jim Who signs Kyle Kendrick?
12:35
Eno Sarris: Not my team. Seems replacement level. Maybe someone invites him to be Sp6/RP6
12:35
Comment From zurzles how many wins would dyson have been worth if he started every day? or maybe just every day vs RHP
12:36
Eno Sarris: Pretty crazy that he’s been worth almost six wins over the last two years. I think playing him versus lefties might hurt his numbers (overexposure) and something about his skillset makes me nervous, but I think we’re going to see more of him this coming year.
12:36
Comment From A ROBOT Any truth to the rumor that I AM A ROBOT
12:36
Eno Sarris: Big if true
12:36
Comment From misterjohnny Do you use UNTAPPD to track your beers?
12:37
Eno Sarris: Yes, mostly because it flows into BeerGraphs.
12:37
Eno Sarris: (enosarris on untappd)
12:37
Comment From Guest what is the meatiest meat
12:37
Eno Sarris: Wanted to say short ribs but they fall apart like pansies once you slow cook them so I’ll say JERKY because OUCH.
12:37
Comment From Grand Admiral Braun Hamels and $30 million to Chicago for Baez. Who hangs up?
12:37
Eno Sarris: If there’s money in it, Phillies?
12:38
Comment From RotoLando Do you still think Hanley Ramirez can be a Top 5 Fantasy SS? I get so disappointed in him.
12:38
Eno Sarris: Looks like health is a real problem. Surprised to see him projected for 600 PA, but that’s probably a depth chart thing. I think 500 PA would be lucky, in which case he’s a 15/15 guy at best.
12:39
Comment From Joe Maddon I went as Joe Maddon for halloween.
12:39
Comment From Jake deBomb That wasn’t at all akin to anything the A’s would do or have done. If you wanted to attempt to mimic the A’s, you would’ve proposed adding someone like Daniel Nava, not Shane Victorino. Maybe attempt to add talent to the pen. Add some real depth behind the plate… Adding a bunch of C and D level FAs or injury reclamations is a nightmare scenario.
12:39
Eno Sarris: Have you seen the guys the A’s ran out at DH for most of the last decade?
12:40
Eno Sarris: They just got Monell and I included RP depth in my plan. I didn’t want to list all the RHP they should invite.
12:40
Comment From SK1 Keep one out of Kyle Seager ($5), Corey Dickerson ($1) or Jorge Soler ($1). League is a keep 3 for up to 3 years
12:41
Eno Sarris: Dickerson. Love the other guys, but he’s at the right price, steals more than Soler.
12:41
Comment From Mark A friend brought Heady Topper back from Vermont. We had a tasting party. Best IPA I’ve had by miles (we had it next to Double Jack and Enjoy By 10.31.14).
12:41
Eno Sarris: I’d take the other two over Topper, but I did enjoy it.
12:41
Comment From Tommy You don’t think Rizzo can improve because of the future lineup around him? Having someone slightly better than Ruggiano or Valbuena behind him could improve his numbers.
12:41
Eno Sarris: Fantasy wise, yes.
12:41
Comment From Joey Are the Chicago White Sox the most forgotten team in baseball? There is nothing about them that is exciting…except Sale.
12:42
Eno Sarris: Abreu? They actually have some decent parts, but pitching is a problem.
12:43
Comment From Sandy The Mets will be good again when the Wilpons no longer own the team. (Or when Bobby Bonilla’s contract finally expires, whichever comes first.)
12:43
Eno Sarris: I have no love for the Wilpons at all.
12:43
Comment From John Judging by some peripherals, FG has projected Garret Richards to regress quite a bit. If healthy, do you agree?
12:44
Eno Sarris: steamer mostly regressing his hr/9, but he does play in a good park for that. I’d take the under on that ERA. At least Steamer has him keeping his K and BB rates.
12:44
Comment From ENO! In a traditional 5×5 NL only roto, I have Puig at an expiring $1. How long of a contract would you sign Puig to? Typically the highest people go is 3 years (so 3/$16)… would you consider going 4/$21?
12:44
Eno Sarris: He’s 23. Yes I would go to four.
12:44
Comment From roast duck RIP ALFONSO SORIANO CAREER
12:45
Eno Sarris: You’ll here about him forever. Every hacker prospect will get a “could be the next Soriano” hung on him. And I’m not bitter. He was very interesting and I love interesting!
12:45
Comment From Guest Is anyone worth $60 in ottoneu? It’s scary just throwing a top-tier player back even if you know he probably can’t exceed that value.
12:46
Eno Sarris: Yes with inflation, the top five guys or so are worth that much. Well they may not be ‘worth’ that much, but throw a McCutchen out and he’ll go for more than 60.
12:46
Comment From Guest why the internet is
12:46
Eno Sarris: for our consternation
12:47
Comment From Jake deBomb in a Kendrick to Jays scenario, maybe Murphy to the Halos for Santiago &/or prospects… he brings a little balance to a RHed heavy lineup and allows them to non-tender Beckham which they prob do anyway.
12:48
Eno Sarris: Ug I hate Santiago. Had no pitch that rated above average by peripherals last year.
12:48
Comment From Ward Last night’s beer status: Jack’s Abby Plum Sour. Never tried a sour before, but after reading your suggestions I decided to pop over and pick up a growler. Not bad having a brewery a mile from my house! Any suggestions for other sours a newbie should try?
12:49
Eno Sarris: Almanac is making it’s way out there, I love their sour porter and dark sour pumpkin. I like Boulevard Love Child. Any The Bruery sour. I’m not as up on what’s on the east coast, though.
12:49
Comment From Rated Rookie
What the baseball hot stove amounts to, mostly.
12:49
Comment From MOP “Brooklyn’s everything” — I assume you haven’t been to East New York.
12:49
Eno Sarris: Yeesh 7 years in the city and I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Queens? East Village? When I was there, I would rather hang in Brooklyn, but Astoria does have that awesome beer garden.
12:50
Comment From STiVo Eno Sarris is in the best shape of his life.
12:50
Comment From Guest Where even is Portland
12:50
Eno Sarris: Look for rain.
12:50
Comment From Guest should I propose to my girlfriend to get a discount on health insurance because her dad works for an insurance company? shit’s expensive, and I like her enough.
12:50
Comment From Ringtone Composer I had the Sweet Baby Jesus. It tasted fakey to me. Kinda meh.
12:50
Eno Sarris: It’s super sweet.
12:50
Comment From Hanley Ramirez I can deal with anger, but when RotoLando is disappointed in my it cuts like a knife.
12:50
Comment From Guest cubs get hamels and lester? watch out!
12:50
Comment From John Madden Why is my name still on the box for these shiny discs that people put into their television computers
12:50
Comment From Because Why the Hell Not? Over/under: Mookie Betts HOF on 2nd ballot?
12:51
Eno Sarris: You guys are BSOL.
12:51
Comment From Guest When the A’s move to the south bay, will they be the San JosAs?
12:51
Eno Sarris: Hah. I bet they try to keep their Oakland name for the hell of it. I mean, the Niners are in Santa Clara and they still call themselves “San Francisco”.
12:52
Comment From Os fan Please, please explain this talk of giving Markakis a four year contract. If they really thought he could get four years on the market, wouldn’t they have offered a QO?
12:53
Eno Sarris: He’s reasonably young at 30 but he was replacement level in 700 PA last year! After five straight years of bad defensive numbers, I think we an agree he’s not a great defender. Career wise, his best skill is contact. I mean if it’s 4/40, sure.
12:53
Comment From zurzles foooooollow-up: do you draft rizzo over sale?
12:53
Eno Sarris: Yes.
12:54
Comment From Kirk Have you ever talked to any pitchers about lineup protection? Specifically if they change their approach in any meaningful way.
12:54
Eno Sarris: Have not! Only hitters.
12:54
Comment From Mark I think what pushed Topper up was how sessionable it was. I feel Double Jack is too much to drink all night.
12:54
Eno Sarris: Oh.
12:55
Eno Sarris: (I don’t drink it all night or anything.) (actually, with the babies, one bomber is all I get)
12:55
Comment From Guest HT really doesn’t do much for me; too sticky and not as bright as my favorite DIPAs. Will take Enjoy By over it any day.
12:55
Comment From Matt As a Rockies fan, should I run around with a tin foil hat and the world is ending sign?
12:55
Eno Sarris: We should all do that anyway. I like some of the pieces. I don’t know how to get you a good pitching staff.
12:56
Comment From make WAR not love as a batter, you can have the power to know either the pitch type or the pitch location, which do you choose?
12:56
Eno Sarris: Type because that determines location a ton.
12:56
Comment From Word Rodenbach Grand Cru is an amazing sour-ish beer, good if you’re new to sours!
12:59
Comment From Jake deBomb Hector Santiago to the pen. Solves that problem.
1:01
Eno Sarris: So you’re knocking my plan of selling Colon for salary relief and signing Aoki and inviting bounce back veterans into town and suggesting that we instead trade Murphy for a reliever and sign 2.6-win Daniel Nava for super cheap instead?
1:01
Cheikh Tidiane NDAO:
1:02
Comment From Guest are baseball players more OCD/superstitious than the gerneral public? With all those ridiculous necklaces, the batting gloves, etc. I dont know anyone in my office of 200 people with rituals like that
1:03
Eno Sarris: yes and I don’t think it’s that weird. I mean, there’s so much in their life that is not under their control. So they can pretend to have some control over some little thing with stupid necklaces.
1:03
Comment From Aaron So I won the costume contest at Cigar City’s Halloween Party, and recieved a bomber of Double Barrel Aged Hunnapuh Stout. How excited should I be to try it out?
1:03
Eno Sarris: Awesome! What were you?
1:03
Comment From Guest I find that I consider beers in less high esteem if they are brewed with adjuncts — an IPA that tastes like tropical fruit because it has tasty hops balanced against malty sweetness is cool, but one brewed with mangoes just isn’t all that cool. Same beef with e.g. Xocoveza; a stout with dark fruit and roastiness from the malt alone is great, but deriving flavor from adjuncts why even bother having beer?
1:04
Comment From Guest Wtf does BSOL mean?
1:04
Eno Sarris: The Germans agree with you! I just want to try everything.
1:04
Eno Sarris: BSOL = best shape of life
1:04
Comment From zurzles The Oakland A’s of San Jose
1:04
Comment From LarryA Are beer companies under tremendous pressure to get new hyped products? Even great classics like double jack now collect dust on shelves
1:05
Eno Sarris: Yeah people just want the new thing. People- me. But actually in trying to save a little money, I’ve been reaching for classics like AleSmith X.
1:05
Comment From Forsyth Eno, I recently moved from Boston to Nashville, and they do not have Allagash here. What can I turn to!?!
1:05
Eno Sarris: Yazoo? Can you get Boulevard?
1:05
Comment From Doug Gotta love the Dodgers building their super front office. With that payroll, and people in charge, they could build something special
1:07
Eno Sarris: Zaidi is awesome. Friedman is such a tough one to deal with though, and I’ve heard that’s one of Sandy’s worst traits — he doesn’t have the buddies in other front offices like some people do. Maybe Colletti gets people on the phone, Friedman plays bad cop, and Zaidi comes up with the great ideas.
1:07
Comment From Kirk Follow up on protection. Wouldn’t you think that would be a good way to gauge how much it changes things? I feel like catchers and pitchers would be very enlightening on that matter.
1:07
Eno Sarris: yes, I’ll do it.
1:07
Comment From Pirates Hurdles In one answer you cite Zimm’s study on power and age that made no sense, then you say power is more likely to increase RE:Heyward with age? What gives?
1:08
Eno Sarris: Our aging curve said power peaked early, but at 26. Stolen bases just go south from day one.
1:08
Comment From klof threw the dregs of RR Consecration onto a carboy of old bruin. excited to try in a few months.
1:08
Eno Sarris: yesssss
1:08
Comment From Guest Why does Steamer expect Kris Bryant to have 1 AB?
1:09
Eno Sarris: It’s a depth chart thing. The steamer projections on the player pages are tied to the depth charts, and it’s tough to update depth charts in the offseason. go to the projections page for different Pa numbers.
1:09
Comment From Just Some Guy The Orioles need Nick Markakis for four years the way I need a third wife.

Comment From A. Friedman Eno – what are the chances Billy Beane deals Shark back to the NL? Asking for a friend.
1:10
Eno Sarris: Decent. Very good. I think it’ll happen.
1:10
Comment From LarryA Bumgarner threw all those high fastballs to end the game to Perez, but isnt a high fastball more susceptible to dingers?
1:11
Eno Sarris: I’ve been writing about this all year! in the Chris Young piece, I found that yes, there are more straight homers up in the zone, but HR/FB peaks low and in, so there is a power spot low in the zone. Also, hitters are trained more and more to hit the low ball since pitchers were throwing it there, so there’s some benefit to throwing high in the zone. Lastly, power is down across baseball, so the bad effects from throwing high in the zone are lessened and the whiff effect is more valuable.

Comment From Guest how did Hosmer win a gold glove? and markakis
1:12
Comment From Jake deBomb isn’t failed LHed starters the new market inefficiency to exploit for the bullpen?
1:14
Eno Sarris: I just couldn’t put Joe Saunders on the list. As for trading Murphy for a failed lefty in the pen… I’d rather find the lefty for free (Zach Duke!) and play Murphy until something younger and more interesting came back. He’s a perfect deadline play for a team that’s in it but lost their third or second baseman.
1:14
Comment From concerned chatter ::pokes with foot:: Eno?

Comment From LarryA Wouldnt profar need more than 1 month of spring training to get back up to speed
1:15
Eno Sarris: I guess there’s a chance Odor plays more, huh? Another injection in the shoulder is the last note on Profar’s page. Sucks.
1:15
Comment From Guest other Guest, have you thought that maybe if you watched all of your coworkers every time they did any work they might do things that look to be OCD/superstitious? I certainly have little tics I do while working.
1:15
Comment From Steve Dilbeak Why didn’t the Dodgers hire Ryan Theriot?
1:16
Comment From zurzles if jones’ athleticism makes him a regression candidate does markakis’ non-athleticism = decent aging? his BR comps seem to have aged well. O’s fans like to treat his 2013 as a wrist injury outlier
1:17
Eno Sarris: Interesting question! I mean, I guess Markakis can keep ISOing .110 and bbing 8% and k’ing 12% for a long time. But how much do you want to pay for that?
1:17
Comment From Mark I agree with Guest about “being brewed with” as generally negative, however, when it comes to sours I would say that “brewed with” is a must.

Comment From Theo Epstein Is spending a ton of money on free agents the new market inefficiency?

Comment From Matt What are IFFB a predictor of?
1:19
Eno Sarris: Really you want to use IFFB*FB = PU%. PU% correlates well year to year, around .6. So if you can get pop-ups, you get outs (popups 99% outs) and will look better than your K-BB rates suggest you should look. Look at Jered Weaver. If, as a hitter, you hit them, you’ll have a low BABIP. look at Brian Dozier or Simmons.

Comment From zurzles will GMs/managers start considering moving decent not-terrible SPs to the pen if they think they could really excel there instead?
1:19
Eno Sarris: They do all the time. It’s where failed starting prospects go.
1:19
Eno Sarris: Look at Andrew Miller.
1:19
Comment From Jake deBomb how about make a real suggestion like the Mets attempt to obtain a real upside asset like Profar? Could be a real possibility that Odor has pushed him into the available pile… Monty + Plawecki?
1:20
Eno Sarris: This is a ‘real’ suggestion born straight out of the hot stove. My suggestions were much more realistic.
1:20
Comment From Steve Dillweed Why didn’t the Dodgers hire Nick Punto as their general manager. Dude’s got all the qualifications.

Comment From Guest Why do some people not use the oxford comma it drives me crazy
1:21
Comment From Ricardo Can Wilmer be an average SS for the Muts in ’15? Your plan looks like it throws him out there all season and lives with it
1:22
Eno Sarris: This was the weakest part of my plan in my opinion. I never thought Flores could play short and am still looking at his defense all jenky-eyed. But I don’t think they want to use the money to sign Lowrie, and throwing the farm at Tulo is unrealistic too. LF is the biggest need, so I focused there.
1:22
Comment From John Kemp + $40MM to M’s for Miller & Wilhelmsen sound about right?
1:23
Eno Sarris: Now hold on this is not terrible. Even if Miller’s bat doesn’t come around completely and his D isn’t great, I don’t hate this one so much. his D will be better than Hanley’s, which isn’t saying much, and his swinging strike rate suggest better K% days ahead IMO.
1:23
Comment From Pirates Hurdles But Zimm’s study said power peaked very early (21) and never increased. Am I mistaken or appropriately skeptical?
1:24
Eno Sarris: Yeah the 25-26 peak had a bigger sample size. His new study is in post-PED era. So yes, that is confusing, and I think we should be skeptical, but it also seems clear that the game has changed some in the recent years.

Comment From Timmay! Wade Davis for Scott Van Slyke. Who says no?
1:25
Comment From Kanye Westvleteren Mark be cray up in here, 3F, Cantillon etc. Geuze is great, Rodenbach GC has no adjuncts, what’s up.
1:25
Eno Sarris: King of platoons Zaidi just signed on. I think they will love Van Slyke.
1:25
Eno Sarris: Could be a definition thing. Cantillon has plenty of sours with extra fruit added…
1:26
Comment From zurzles andrew miller sucked as a starter though. same with wade davis. i’m thinking more of a #3 type guy who has actual value as a starter
1:26
Eno Sarris: I don’t think so. A number three starter still has more value than almost any reliever.
1:26
Comment From zurzles it turns out hamburger buns do not taste edible after a night in the fridge. jsyk

Comment From klof tearing down the wrigley field bleachers makes me sad. why is no one else upset by this? do we only care about the ivy brick wall (the only part still remaining).

Comment From Jake deBomb Why do you keep saying LF? How progressive could the FO really be if they don’t move Granderson to LF? RF is where the opening should be.

Comment From War2d2 Going to be spending Thanksgiving week in SLO, where the family moved. What beers should I be looking for? I’d like to try some chocolate stouts. What do you recommend?
1:33
Eno Sarris: You might be able to get the Dust Bowl beers from Turlock in san luis obisp, their stout is great. Also, Firestone Walker limited stuff available down there. And won’t you be close to Chico and SN headquarters?
1:33
Comment From Maniel Durphy Trade me!
1:33
Eno Sarris: I think Colon is the one I want to trade now for cash relief. Murphy probably still better than herrera and I want to see more out of DIL,SON
1:33

Firestone Walker is in Paso Robles, 30 minutes from SLO. Don’t need to go all the way down to Santa Barbara.
