Tom: Would you be so kind as to name three prospects you would love to roster at this weekend’s AL-LABR?

Eno Sarris: You going to make me bare all my strategy eh. I’ll give you a couple: Michael Fulmer and Kyle Zimmer. Because, opportunity.

Otis: favourite brewery not from the US of A?

Eno Sarris: Cantillon.

T-bird: Who do you like more between Mazara and Brinson, both in the short-term and long-term? Do either make a significant impact this season?

Eno Sarris: Mazara closer and higher floor. Really nice swing. Brinson higher ceiling but higher bust rate and further away. I usually end up with Mazara types.

Marc: Did you listen to Dan Haren on Jonah’s podcast? Have other players expressed their anxieties with playing to you? Highly recommend giving it a listen if you haven’t.

Eno Sarris: Dan Haren himself talked about it a bit with me. I’ve heard it some from Sam Fuld and others. But it’s all such an alpha male sport, you’re not going to get a lot of people to admit it, particularly while they are in the league.

brad: do you think piscotty’s changes in swing mechanics can lead to a jd Martinez like break out?

Eno Sarris: Yes. Well, not sure he has that same power ceiling, but I see similar changes.

Astro Boy: Who’s the starting 1B for the Astros on Opening Day? Does that individual keep the job all year?

Eno Sarris: Singleton or Tucker. I actually think it might be Tucker. And no.

Mitt Romney: I find myself loving Nick Castellanos for the upcoming season. What say you about his prospects for breaking out in 2016?

Eno Sarris: He’s only 23 so he should grow in all departments. Just a little more contact and a little more power and he could be a .275/20 guy. In real life, that needs to be paired with better defense.

Shamus: You’ve sold me on Liam Hendricks over the past few months, but how feasible is it that he would even be ahead of Axford on the depth chart at this point? If your sole focus was vulturing saves and you could only roster one of Hendricks or Madson, would you still go Hendricks?

Eno Sarris: Yes.

Miketron: So how far has Soler’s value fallen?

Eno Sarris: Depressingly far. Right now, having trouble seeing more than 300 PA…

Yankee Doodle: What kind of expectations do you have for Starlin Castro this year? Would you rather have him, Andrus or Semien?

Eno Sarris: Semien. Castro should be fine but his ceiling isn’t huge and his floor is bad.

Marc: Southern Tier is opening a microbrewery by PNC park in Pittsburgh soon. On a scale of 1 to All Of It, how much should I blow between that and baseball?

Hannah Hochevar: Is having two kids like signing two QO free agents? Once you’ve committed to losing one pick, you might as well lose two. (So long as one kid doesn’t turn around and sign with the Cubs instead…)

Eno Sarris: I guess but the third just seems like too much for me. Don’t tell my wife I said that. Well, I guess she knows.

Jt: Do you have any suggestions for a strategy for the last 10-15 rounds of the nfbc draft and hold leagues? The guys left are seriously bottom of the barrel. All prospects people have heard of are gone.

Eno Sarris: Set it up so that you’re picking starters and relievers. That’s where you want quantity anyway.

Brandon : How would you rank Stanton, Machado, and Arenado in a points league system this year? And how would you rank them as far as keepers? Thanks.

Eno Sarris: Machado, Stanton, Arenado. But Arenado may slide ahead of Stanton as a keeper.

Alex: Would you rather have Jacob deGrom as a 2nd round keeper or Carlos Carrasco as a 4th round keeper? There are 96 players kept in this league, so a 2nd round pick isn’t exactly your traditional 2nd round pick.

Eno Sarris: Still so many great players available after keepers selected. I’d rather have CC.

Gerb: Does Salazar have to potential to make the next step and give Cleveland 3 true aces? What are the odds that the AL Cy Young goes to a Cleveland pitcher?

Eno Sarris: I think so. The curve has potential. And the odds have to be better than most. I found that past Cy Youngs have come mostly from pitchers projected as top 30 pitchers in their late twenties. That describes most of the top three.

Sean P: Are the White Sox being foolish by going into next year with Rollins/Saladino at short and Garcia in right?

Eno Sarris: No, they have Anderson and he could benefit from a little less pressure, so I like the Rollins thing. Not getting in on Fowler or another late OF might have been a mistake though.

Pretty Tony: Live in MI and just got Ballast Point here in November. A sixer of Sculpy still costs 14, 15 bucks most places. Do prices typically drop after a few months after a brewery expands its distribution or am I going to have to treat myself to BP only when I’m feeling like splurging?

Eno Sarris: You *might* see six pack prices go down because they were bought. Being bought by a big company allows you to slash prices on six packs in particular.

Ryan : My bulldog has recently taken to eating socks lately. Its weird. Speaking of socks, what should we expect from White Sox prospect Tim Anderson this year?

Eno Sarris: I’m worried he’ll strike out too much, so if he can keep it to 20% strikeouts in the minors again, I’d be excited.

Scott: Stumbled my way onto a bottle of Goose Island 2015 Rare Bourbon County Stout. Have you had it? I love regular BCS but this cost $70, I see the market for it is around $130 or more, and my taste buds aren’t worthy of $7-8/oz liquid. What should I do with it? Sell it now, keep it and see if it gets more expensive, keep it and drink it for a meaningful life moment?

Eno Sarris: I would drink it with someone at a big moment. But if doubling your money is interesting to you, don’t stress too much. I love beer but it’s just beer.

Eno’s Angels: Hi Eno…I wanted to know which pitchers you like to make a big jump this year based on what you’ve seen. I think you’ve mentioned Rubby De La Rosa as one? Thanks!

Eno Sarris: DeSclafani (went to curve), Ventura (more curves, more velocity), Gibson (more changeups), Eovaldi (more splitters if arm holds up) made significant changes in the late going last year.

Marc: What do you make of the Cole/Boras vs Pirates situation? I get that his pre-arb $ doesnt equal his perfromance but per the CBA thats expected and common practice for the vast majority of teams. The whole situation seems overblown and that Cole is being a little bit of a whiner no?

Eno Sarris: Maybe they trying to change those practices, which I guess is okay. Sometimes you have to whine to get things done.

batman: Thoughts on rolling with Justin Turner as a primary 3B? Market is dried up in the way of keepers, and he seems to be a good middle of the road selection if i can get him at the right price

Eno Sarris: Fine if cheap.

Bork: So would the perfect pitcher mold be a ground ball pitcher from 18-30, fly ball from 30-38, then knuckleballer 38-60?

Eno Sarris: Based on my piece today, I think four-seam/slider/change strikeout guy from 18-30, mixing in sinkers in late 20s, cutter in mid thirties, and sure, knucklers at the end why not. Something like Gio Gonzalez with slightly better stuff and better natural command.

Eddie: In a keep forever, I have Carlos Carrasco in the 3rd round. I’ve been offered a deal where I send Carrasco and my 3rd round pick to receive Gerrit Cole, who is a 20th round keeper. I need some Eno expertise here.

Eno Sarris: Wait so you lose the third round pick either way? Seems like a bum deal.

Eno Sarris: Unless You get to keep Cole in 20th in perpetuity.

Eno Sarris: I really like that he spent all offseason working on his falling arm slot. That should help goose his movement back to where it was when he was better.

Eno Sarris: I did not like the first one. I’ll try the raw one. I’m actually really interested in their nitro series, I like nitro beers.

James : I know hindsight is 20/20, but was offering a qualifying offer to Brett Anderson really a good deal?

Eno Sarris: I totally thought he would take it.

Yoenis Envy: Is Votto gonna see any strikes this year, given the lack of anything resembling a threat on the Reds?

Eno Sarris: He told me he’s never seen any difference in how he’s pitched based on who’s behind him. Only who’s in front of him — more fastballs if Hamilton is on base. So it’s more on Hamilton than the whole lineup I guess.

Trump University Degree Holder: Pillar and Burns are both going for $15 in my league, inflation added. Which would you take if given the choice?

Eno Sarris: Burns. For sure.

mtsw: Thoughts on Gausman’s breakout potential?

Eno Sarris: Decent. He also added a curve over the course of the year, and started throwing that rising fastball for more pop-ups too. Has the velocity and two changeups.

Schiraldi: How do you weigh Carlos Martinez’s shoulder injury w/r/t skills improvement? Beyond lowering his innings a bit, does it make you more hesitant that he’ll improve on his BB%, or worry that his K% will step back?

Eno Sarris: He’s been fine so far so I don’t worry about what he does on the field.

Tyler: Are you high on Yelich’s bat this year, a lot of people seem to be really excited if he can get his flyball rate up

Eno Sarris: Yeah but how much can he push it year over year? I’d put the over under on home runs for him around 10.

Mark: What’s your take on Nomar Mazara? Will he hit for average and power?

Eno Sarris: Yes and at least league average power.

Marc: The Pirates seem to listen/read your articles on relievers. Can you please write something on how Caminero should be closing?

Pete: Do you think Addison Russell will close the gap this year between other call-ups Lindor and Seager? Will he prove more valuable at his ADP?

Eno Sarris: I like him. I think he can approach Jhonny Peralta numbers as soon as this year. Peralta was always criminally underrated in fantasy.

Eno Sarris: good. We didn’t leave the house much, one trip to Hilo and the beach (big surf problem while I was there, and we were visiting family) but I had great beer and hung by the pool.

Eno Sarris: Mostly. But the thing is, since we are all so awkward, something kind of fun happens: the stress lessens.

AL-only Guy: Are you excited for AL-LABR this weekend? What kind of advice could you give someone also heading into an AL-only auction soon? Have you ever won a league with a Stars & Scrubs approach, or do you recommend balance across the board instead?

Eno Sarris: I *hate* dollar guys, especially dollar hitters. Bad odds on those guys. So I dive for the middle most of the time.

Eno Sarris: Treehouse if you push me, but I love Cellarmaker.

2-D: Are we any more likely to see Urias in the bigs this season now that Anderson needs back surgery?

Eno Sarris: Yes, also because he’s more polished than his age suggests.

Eno Sarris: Hey, that’s super possible actually. He’s a plus BABIP guy anyway, so he might hit .300 with 10/15 type numbers. Melky!

Eno Sarris: Peraza needs a trade (BP) to play I think. That’s always dicey to depend on in a one-year league. .310 projected OBP for Marte is a little ominous. That’s second-worst in the lineup. He may not lead off.

Marc: Something crazy happens and you have to pitch 2 innings for a team this year. What team would you rather pitch for and against, and how do you think you’d fair given your pitching knowledge?

Eno Sarris: against the Mets because I would be terrible

Gary: Eno! Is Buxton worth a 15th round pick the next 3 years? Do you see him having some sort of impact this year to justify keeping him now?

Eno Sarris: This year definitely worth the gamble. But what if he’s not great. Then you stuck with two more years… Still, even an iffy year, you probably wouldn’t mind holding for one more shot, and then if he craps out, you only really ‘lose’ one year at 15th round.

dave in slc: do you spend more for high end pitching in an al only keeper league? I have Sale at 31 and Salazar at 21 and considering keeping both due to lack of “good” options

My Socks are White: You a fan of Latos this season? What can we reasonably expect in terms of results?

Eno Sarris: I’m a fan of him on the $1 level, because his velocity and movement and per-pitch results haven’t fallen off completely yet.

Zod: Bill James is great in a lot of ways but he also appears to be a crazy person in a lot of other ways. Any insight into how his polemical side plays in league offices?

Eno Sarris: We are all crazy people in some way.

Eno Sarris: He’d make me look like Kristaps made Rovell look.

Eno is: At his peak, is Rougned Odor more of a .275-15-5 hitter, or more of a .300-25-10 hitter?

Matt: I find Matt Boyd intriguing. A lefty with an average fastball, above average changeup, and a slider that could be above average.

Eno Sarris: Trouble keeping velocity though. I’d need to see some growth there.

Khris Davis: Some baseball writers think this is the season I put it all together. I’ve even seen a few call for me having a better season than the other Chris Davis! These writers are nuts, yes?

Eno Sarris: He hits the ball super hard and hasn’t played a full season yet. At least in terms of counting stats, this year should look good.

Sucka Emcees: Joc Pederson: overrated prospect with low pedigree who looks more like his second half of 2015 over his career? Or young, athletic, toolsy guy who was underrated early and has a potentially pretty damn high ceiling, if he can learn to make some adjustments? I tend toward the latter. What sayeth Eno?

GSon: While it’s still early.. Cody Anderson made his ST debut a stellar one.. six up, six down, one K and threw his FB in the 96-97 range for both innings.. Impress you? or did you miss the boat while traipsing into the AZ wilderness?

Eno Sarris: I’m fairly soft on offense in the post, but on D I do as well as I can, can cause problems.

Eno Sarris: Yes actually. As much as I like Piscotty, getting two top-ten types (if not literally) is very sexy return.

Eno Sarris: I would try Firestone Walker Easy Jack, make sure to smell it first. Saison Dupont on the belgian side. If you like the EJ, try some IPAS. If you like the Dupont, try Belgians.

Physical: When does a player who is offered a QO take his physical? Would Anderson have taken one before being offered the QO? Does he take one after accepting? If so, I assume the team can void the QO if he fails? Just curious.

Eno Sarris: I think there’s an exit physical at the end of the year.

kevinthecomic: Stop at two kids — you can still play man-to-man. Once the 3rd shows up, you have no choice but to play a zone.

Eno Sarris: MT is so good. I think their City of the Sun was my most recent favorite, but Blazing World is the overall favorite. Pliny was good this year, not too syrupy.

klof: The wall changes in COL got me thinking. Which would you rather see/which would be more interesting for the game: a stadium with something like the Green Monstah all the way around the field at 300 ft, or a stadium with 4 ft high fences at 500 ft? There’s some magic to a fence at a distance and height that allows for stealing HRs, but would teams have an interest in extreme ballparks like this?

Eno Sarris: The 500 feet one because imagine someone like Jarrod Dyson on his horse. (and no, because it’s harder to win in extreme parks)
