The depth of flavor in it was wild: chocolate/coffee to vanilla and then kissed with just a hint of spice, with absolutely zero bitterness. Should teams consider starting their young AA/AAA premier pitching talent’s season in a more staggered way? If team is in it, great, they can avoid super-2, and have innings in the tank for sept/oct. IF not, and guy is short innings, can go to AFL. (think about if matz didnt get hurt, he used to many innings at AAA!)

Eno Sarris: I think you have to put the development of the pitcher first in your mind because if you were the Mets, you would have planned for 2017 instead of this year. I see the staggering is sort of a backup plan, but still. Develop the pitcher.

Eno Sarris: He’s got light tower power. His problem this year was with the swing/don’t swing decision, IMO, and he’s fixed that before in the minors. I’ll be trying to get shares of him in all my keeper leagues. I’d have to be conservative and project him for 20ish, but a huge explosion wouldn’t surprise me at all.

But after interviewing him… He *really* wants to stick at the position, said that two or three times to me, tailored his workout and eating regimen to staying at the position. Given the similarities between the sinkers of Britton and Dyson (at least the results) mentioned in your article on the Bal bullpen, do you expect Dyson to become a stud reliever? What roles do you think the Tex relievers (Tolleson, Dyson, Diekman, Kela) fill next year in terms of saves and holds. It’s an underrated bullpen for next year in my opinion.

Eno Sarris: I think that bullpen got great in Texas, actually, and I think it’s a big part of why they better than projections. I think Kela is the future closer though. Something about his stuff.

Eno Sarris: Just mad he didn’t name drop me! I’ve spent all year going from one to the other. There’s some saber straw man in that piece that people aren’t talking about much, but it was a decent piece. I just talked to Votto about using the coaches as a conduit to bring best practices from the players to the front office.

Eno Sarris: You’re going to have to lose a guy like that to have flexibility in an H2H league. It’ll be okay, even if he’s good, how many innings will he have.

Eno Sarris: Choo going to have a job. Brinson made a big adjustment but will have to adjust to bigs, too. I don’t think you want to count on three rookies if you think you will be compeititive.

Eno Sarris: I like most of it, but I’m not sure Cespedes has really changed, and I think he might be an overpay. Most FAs are overpays, but maybe worse than most. Depends on what he wants.

Eno Sarris: I think it’s possible I/we overrated his secondary stuff. He’s got a good fastball but everyone’s sitting on it because he doesn’t throw the other stuff enough. That’s my theory.

What do you project for Addison Russell?

Eno Sarris: That strikeout rate is going to improve, beyond projections IMO. I think he can get it down to 22-24%. With a 8-9% walk rate, and a .175 ISO at some point. We’re talking peak here, but .275/.330/.450 with 20 homers and great SS D. Super valuable. Take 10% off for rosy projections next year.
