Cistulli-You mentioned in some podcast (with Dave) about staying in some Castle in the Balkans that was really cool. Care to point a fellow ex-minuteman to the city?
Yeah! Diocletian’s Palace in Split, Croatia. I don’t know if there’s specifically a place to stay in the palace — if there is, it’s probably expensive — but the city is small enough, you can find a reasonable place within walking distance of everything.
We stayed at an AirBnB location not far from the water. It was pleasant and affordable.

My favorite mainstream media misuse of statistics: Team X has won *insert large number here* of games in a row in which they have scored at least Y runs/goals/points. There is a common variation for defensive minded times as well, involving how many runs/goals/points they’ve given up.
As if finding an arbitrary cutoff point with a corresponding statistical anomaly has any predictive value whatsoever…Every time I hear this line, I sarcastically think to myself, “Really, you mean scoring runs helps you win games? Who would have thought!”
Ah, I guess it’s that season now…
How could Cameron hate Detlef Schrempf so much? I could only imagine he was not aware of the following;
– While with the Sonics for 6 seasons he posted a 17.2 VORP which is almost double that of Perkins in the same amount of time.
– He appeared in several episodes of Parks And Recreation created by Michael Schur (he of “Fire Joe Morgan Fame”).
– His Seattle based charity gives to numerous charities including cancer research and children’s hospitals.
– “Detlef Schrempf” is a song by Band Of Horses who were originally formed in Seattle and now based out of South Carolina.
– While at UW he majored in business.
Don’t you get it man??? The band writes a song about him and relocates from Seattle to the Carolinas. Majored in business, related to economics. Gives to cancer research. Close ties to a groundbreaking baseball website. Dave, Detlef Schrempf is you you! You are Detlef Schrempf. Learn to love yourself and be proud of your game.
(Also, I have no doubt you would have posted better numbers than Big Smooth if you played for the Sonics fo 6 years.)
