Inverted W (why not call it an M) pontification. I’m assuming it’s because an M has the straight up and down angles, whereas the W, or inverted W has more of a 45 degree angle for each leg. It actually makes sense when you look at it simply like that. Though it should’ve just been called “The made up thing about injured pitchers”
That’s the answer I’ve seen too, but it’s still hugely stupid. If you’re (“you” in the general sense) going to be that precise about it then, than pitchers don’t hold their front arm at an angle like that, so it doesn’t make sense anyway.
