How Optimistic Are You That the 2020 Season Will Be Played? (Round 6)

There’s been considerable movement from both the players and the owners since our last round of polling. For the first time, May will no longer be an option for the season start date. Thanks again for taking the time to answer these questions, and help us understand your perspective on a potential 2020 season.

Thanks again for answering. We will report back with the results.

Some of these questions are hard to answer. For example, if we think that the owners are serious about their 50-game gambit (maybe they are, maybe they aren’t) then the playoffs could start and end before October.

Also, the # of games played without fans isn’t too useful without knowing how the same person voted on the the # of games. The denominator there is important.

Owners and players’ offers appear to be about 1.5B dollars off. I took the owners 50-game suggestion as a temper tantrum like response to the players proposal counter offer being that far from their proposal. I doubt it was meant to be considered.

Agreed. A better question would be the reverse, “How many games will be played with fans present?”

I’d be really curious to see if anyone at all indicated >0
