2015 ZiPS Projections!
The 2015 ZiPS Projections, courtesy of Dan Szymborski, are now available in sortable form and on the player pages.
In addition, ZiPS projections are now combined with the Steamer projections to make up our projected standings.
David Appelman is the creator of FanGraphs.
It’s weird to think of Mike Trout as a bounce-back candidate.
Many thanks for the ZiPS tab!! Uh Oh. Oliver tab removed from projections page. Wondering if this means they are no longer scheduled to appear or if it will appear again when they are ready?
Thanks, Appledeezy.
So the projected 3rd best run diff is 54. And the Nationals is 103? Holy Smoke! Where’s my ring indeed, Mr. Harper!
Phil “LOL” Hughes.
Will ZiPS also be added to the auction calculator soon? And maybe a 50/50 ZiPS/Steamer for it as well?
This is the one feature I really want
Yes, also the ability to combine projections on the auction calculator page would be fantastic
How can anyone take zips seriously? Sort by homeruns and go to page two….tell me who the hell those people even are…??
Dude! Don’t deep-six my season by calling attention to these projections! I’m going all-in on Mike Hessman this year. He’s the deepest of sleepers!
Perhaps a more nuanced analysis would be appropriate.
Here’s one: http://www.hardballtimes.com/evaluating-the-2014-projection-systems/
It concluded, “…we can decisively say that in 2014 ZiPS did the best job. It performed the best overall and in most of our subsets while never stumbling into the bottom half. You can’t go wrong with any of these systems, but as we look ahead to 2015, I’ll be using ZiPS.”
Sorry to do this here, but I’m not sure where else it would be found.
ZiPs projection for Delino DeShields Jr. links to his dad and I just don’t think a 46 year old who hasn’t played since 2002 is stealing 37 bases in 2015.
