Position: MLB Advanced Media Coordinator, Club Relations

Location: New York, N.Y.

Description:
The Coordinator, Club Relations will assist the Manager, Club Relations, in providing stats, data, reports and services to the 30 MLB clubs, all minor league clubs, and their vendors and business partners, as well as MLBAM internal consumers. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of baseball, a high degree of comfort with new technology, and extreme attention to detail and procedure. Work generally takes place during ordinary business hours, but on-call responsibilities are required as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining day-to-day communication with MLB and minor league clubs, vendors and business partners to distribute, debug and enhance MLBAM stats and data delivery processes.
  • Working with internal resources to develop and maintain data delivery processes.
  • Managing stats and data reporting and data outputs.
  • Writing and maintaining documentation and specs.
  • Importing, auditing and editing data from internal and external sources.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Manager, Club Relations.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year working for a Major League Baseball or other professional sports club in a media relations or public relations capacity, or similar experience.
  • Familiarity with .xml, .json and contemporary data-delivery formats.
  • Proficiency managing large datasets in Microsoft Excel, Access or similar programs.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Extremely detail oriented and thorough, and able to reliably perform repetitive tasks.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to complete job tasks and requirements with (at times) minimal supervision.
  • Availability to be on-call during nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
  • Strong computer proficiency (Windows OS and Windows-based software) and the ability to quickly learn and operate new software.
  • Exceptional (and demonstrable) knowledge of baseball and its rules.
  • A “team player” with a great attitude, including but not limited to the ability to work closely and cooperatively with multiple departments within our company, as well as clubs and business partners.
  • Availability to be on-call during nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
