League Average Heatmaps!
With the addition of the new heatmaps, we have a new tool that lets you whip up league average heatmaps.

The tool can be conveniently accessed under the “leaders” section in the site’s main navigation.
David Appelman is the creator of FanGraphs.
It would be cool to have (as R vs R + mirror-image-of as L vs L) and (as R vs L + mirror-image-of as L vs R). Could call them “same hand” and “opposite hand”.
Excellent. A friendly user-feedback note – you’ll want flip the viewpoint bars on either side of the heatmap for pitchers. It appears backwards currently.
Thanks, that should be fixed now.
This has been a good week
cool! this gives us average values and sample size. next awesome addition would be some stat representing the range of the data, ie SDs or percentiles. its a little tedious to switch back and forth between lets say mike trout and clint barmes
