Devised originally in response to a challenge issued by sabermetric nobleman Rob Neyer, and expanded at the request of nobody, NERD scores represent an attempt to summarize in one number (and on a scale of 0-10) the likely aesthetic appeal or watchability, for the learned fan, of a player or team or game. The Purpose of This Post
The purpose of this post is to announce an impromptu meeting — in this case, at 7:10pm ET tonight (Tuesday) — of the Corey Kluber Society.

About the Society
The Corey Kluber Society (or, frequently just “the Society”) is an organization composed of individuals all bound by their singular enthusiasm for the works and days of Cleveland right-hander Corey Kluber.

A Very Brief History of the Society
The Society transcends time. Its past exists in the future; its future, the past. For this reason — and for other obscure ones which require decades of contemplative study — any chronicle of its history is necessarily very brief.

How to Attend a Meeting
Bathe in the uncreated light. Either that, or observe Kluber’s start by way of MLB.TV. One or the other.

On the Agenda
The agenda for today’s meeting (subject to change) is as follows:

1. Welcome, announcements, etc.
2. High-fives and down-lows. (Too-slows forbidden after recent incident.)
3. Report from the Subcommittee on Sump-Pump Manufacture and Repair.
4. Meal: Toblerones and danger.
5. Digestif: ancient rainwater.
6. Postprandial banter.
7. Observe as Kluber gleams the cube of existence.
