One Night Only: Hot Game Previews for June 20th

At least one of these words applies to the present edition of One Night Only.

This edition of One Night Only is limited in terms of written copy, on account of most of the author’s effort was expended in the pursuit of designing a cleaner, more user-friendly presentation for the daily slate of games — which design one can see by reading furtherly in the present post.

While not much different in terms of the information it contains, this new format allows the reader to (a) see all the NERD Game Scores in a single (right-most) column and (b) click on any pitchers’ name, should he (i.e. this hypothetical reader) so choose.

For readers who have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, feel free to look at the daily slate of game in this recent edition of One Night Only (the black-and-white image towards the bottom) and/or the methodology behind NERD scores here.

For readers who’re like, “This is much better/worse,” feel free make such declarations in the comments section.

For readers who’re like, “You should make this frigging table sortable,” I respond to you by saying, “Yeah, I’m looking into that right now.”

Until you make the table sortable, I think the games should be listed in descending order by overall Game Score.

Also, although you never said it wasn’t coming back, I wanted to say that I do enjoy the written copy aspect, and think that it should occur below the new and/or improved table, so that those that don’t want to read the copy can just see the table on top. Plus it seems more intuitive that way.

Thanks for your work

I agree and disagree. I would like to have the table up top and then the regular written stuff below. On days I have time to read all of it, the writing is very enjoyable. However, sometimes I just want to see the games.

However, I would rather have the games listed (as they are now) by ascending time. Of course, a sortable table would make literally everyone happy.
