Player Search Update

I’ve updated player searching. I think it works a lot better now and hopefully you will too. Minor league and major league players now appear on one page and the search algorithm is now much better at picking up misspelled player names and inexact matches.

While it is more functional (especially when trying to spell something like Albaladejo), it’s not as pretty. Obviously, prettiness > functionality 😉

What about getting nicknames in there…or at least just a few common ones.

I’m mostly just talking about Arod though.

Is there any chance you could add next article / previous article links to the bottom of the article as well as the top? Having to scroll back up to change articles is a little annoying, and it shouldn’t require too much of a change to your templates…

First of all: Great update! I love having the minor league and major league players side-by-side.

Do you think you guys could add auto-navigation to a player page if there’s only a single search response? (sort of like wikipedia) It’s not a huge burden to click that link, but it’s just on of those little ‘things’

it would be really cool if we had the option to link directly to the ‘charts’.

maybe a simple radio button that allows us to choose to link to either ‘stats’ or ‘charts’ .. you could always leave the default to ‘stats’ of course.
