The World Is Less Funny
Terrible news today – John Brattain has passed away at the age of 44. He was a great writer, and a remarkable asset to the community of baseball nerds that we’re all a part of. I never had any interaction with him, but enjoyed his work at a distance. We’ve lost a good one. My condolences to his family.

Condolences to John’s family and friends. He was one fellow I wish I had really known because his articles were always funny, informative, and entertaining, and showed his caring and understanding for other people. He came across as not only a good writer and genuine baseball fan, but as a nice guy.
The news of John Brattain’s passing makes me sad – even for personal, selfish reasons. I’ll miss him.
