$0.99 FanGraphs iPhone App Weekend Sale

The FanGraphs iPhone App is discounted to $0.99 from it’s original price of $2.99 until the end of the weekend.

I’ve also added the in-season ZiPS projections, both “Updated” and “Rest of Season” to the player stats.

If you have an iPad, just browse the site. The app is a very limited, very poor substitute. Maybe it’s nice for phones with small screens, but when you have a screen big enough, just go to the source.

That’s great if you have wifi at the ballpark. I’d love a fan graphs iPad app where you could download team info before you go and be able to look it up during the game.

Mish, this is good advice from Mario Mendoza. No need for an iPad app… just going to fangraphs works just fine.

Have had the app for a while now, and its wonderful. I was wondering if there were any key updates to come?

I’d kill for a android version. I’d even do the work to port it for you (though i’d probably have to see the source code of the original first).

I would pay $5 for this app if it included all of the fangraphs, sb-nation, hardball times, and bleacher report articles the way the website does. I don’t see why the app is worth even $1 if you can just go on the website and have both the stats and the articles. Please add the article links to the app and then I, and I’m sure many other will happily pay more than $1.

So you would pay $5 for an app that is exactly the same a’s the website?

Yep, I would. The improved formatting of word-size and the improved ease of reading in an app would be preferable to having to zoom in on articles through the website. Now if they had a better mobile site, then it might be a different story.

I like the mobile site. The text size if fine on my Droid 1. It doesn’t require any zooming.

I bought this app for full price upon release, and I’m happy to support the site – but I don’t like it, seldom launch it, and still look up stats and such using a mobile browser. Just a note to the Android folks, I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

Yup, hasn’t been worth the price of purchase for me. I use it very sparingly. It’s ridiculously limited. I love FanGraphs and hate to give it a crappy review, but I’ll be impressed when we can at least read the FanGraphs content in the app. For now, this app is sort of pathetic.

You should consider making an android application, there are more android users both in the US and worldwide and iOS users.

I think we all get it, you guys want a Droid app. They’re more than likely working on it.

I bought it a while ago, but I’ll second the notion of adding the blog posts.

Also, WAR graphs would be awesome.

I think the DROID issue is, the people who say they want a DROID version aren’t exactly in the market for a *$2.99* Fangraphs app.

Marketshare or not, Android apps that cost money upfront don’t do all that well.

The app is a huge disappointment. Just put a shortcut on your desktop to the website and you’ll have a better (and free) “app”.

Since visitors of this website are smarter than the average person, I’d like to see a poll of Android vs. iPhone. Would be interesting to see the results with many sheeple removed.

Android +1

I’d love to work on a webOS version of this app…please let me know if you’re interested!
