2012 RotoChamp Projections

RotoChamp projections are now available in the sortable projections pages and player pages for the second year in a row. Big thanks to RotoChamp.com for letting us post these for the second straight year.

One quick note about projections this year is that you can filter by active team, giving you available projections for anyone who is on the current 40 man roster.

Apparently the Twins have some PR people who work at Rotochamps.

Chris Heisey dropping 30 bombs to lead all LFs! (assuming Morse is gonna play a lot at 1b). If Heisey gets playing time, and can get back to mashing LHPs like he did in the minors, I could see him reaching that projection. He has already shown the ability to hit RHP in the majors.

Carlos Gonzalez shows up when I limit it to catchers. Just a heads up. Probably easy to fix.

I haven’t used the “Fans” projections yet (would be my first time this year). Can someone comment on how accurate they are? Do they tend to favor veterans or younger players? Do they take position eligibility into account? etc….

I know the RotoChamp projections tend to favor veteran players as they obviously base a good amount of their projection system based off of past performance (not including minors). The RotoChamp system does take position eligibility into account.

Just a heads up, Bautista wasn’t showing up with the rest of the Jays.

Cozart – prob gets a few SB, no?

If those projections hold up, then Brett Lawrie would pretty easily be the top rated 3B in the league (besides the fact that Bautista would still qualify). Love if it happened but seems a little bit optimistic to me.

I would totally bet on him having a higher wOBA than Pujols.

Crawford worse than Melky Cabrera? I don’t know what their formula looks like, but it seemingly weights most recent performance very heavily. I don’t buy Crawford being worth less than Melky, Adam Lind, Neil Walker, and JJ Putz.

Parmalee! parmalee!

I just cannot believe that Mauer should be ranked 7th overall of catchers. Someone who’s career BA is over 320 even with regressing last year and his injury troubles. Especially since he should have Pos Elig at 1st base he should get plenty of at bats. I foresee a BA up around 315 this year.

Do you update these projections to reflect free agent movement, injuries etc or are they one and done? For example, when would Madson’s numbers be updated to reflect his new job?
