FanGraphs Live Event, NYC
On Saturday, August 7th, FanGraphs and River Avenue Blues are hosting their first ever Live Discussion. The event will consist of three hours of conversation about baseball, analysis of the sport, and how the game is covered. Hosting the event will be David Appelman and Dave Cameron of FanGraphs along with Joe Pawlikowski, Benjamin Kabak, and Mike Axisa of River Ave Blues.
Notable guests include former Deadspin editor and author Will Leitch, baseball consultant and analyst Mitchel Lichtman, Boston Herald writer Michael Silverman, WEEI contributor Alex Speier, Bloomberg Sports team leader Jonah Keri, Wall Street Journal writer David Biderman, as well as other writers from FanGraphs and around the web. This is your chance to talk baseball with analysts and fellow fans of the game.
A ticket to the event will cost $15, and can be purchased here. The event will be held from 9 am to 12 pm at the Florence Gould Hall, 55 East 59th Street, New York, New York.

This is the first time in my life that I’ve wished I lived in New York.
Also, Dave, do something like this in Washington for those of us who live near you but don’t read USSM to know if you do things like this already because they’re not Mariners fans.
Dave lives in North Carolina.
He’s done events like this before in Washington, most recently in January.
I forgot to mention the most important part, it was for Mariner fans so it’s not quite the same in that respect.

Also, any chance this comes to Chicago? I’m in WI and can’t make it to NY.
We were already going to be in town the 5th & 6th. On the 5th our son is taking us out to dinner for my birthday. On the 6th we’re doing tourist stuff, then that night my son is having his birthday party, about two blocks from the FG event. Then it was saying “Honey, we are going to be there anyway, we’ll just be leaving for home a little later”. Maybe it hasn’t sunk in that it will be three hours of sabermetrics.
She had agreed to go with me to SF for the Pitch f/x conference, but they waited too long to announce it and I didn’t have the money to go to the west coast.
I’ll be there, look forward to it. Should be fun
