Please note you will be able to change the team of any of your players up until you first spend money. So, if you want your players to be on new teams, I advise doing it before you make any picks. You can do this on the settings page.

In addition, your player will keep all of his stats from the previous two seasons and continue on to the next year of his career.

Lastly, if you had autopick set last year, it has now be unset. If you want to keep playing with autopick on, you will need to make your autopick selections again.

And for those of you who are rookies to FanGraphs: The Game…

Inside Edge Fielding Data!

We have a new section on both the leaderboards and player pages that now displays Inside Edge fielding data.

Inside Edge scouts watch every play and grade how easy or difficult it is to successfully field on the following scale:

  • Impossible (0%)
  • Remote (1-10%)
  • Unlikely (10-40%)
  • About Even (40-60%)
  • Likely (60-90%)
  • Almost Certain / Certain (90-100%)

We’ve aggregated all the data and made it available for you to peruse on a player-by-player basis:

2014 ZiPS Projections!

The 2014 ZiPS projections are now available in the player pages and on the sortable projection pages. Much thanks to Dan Szymborski for once again providing his projections!

With the arrival of the ZiPS projections, we’ve updated our depth charts and projected standings to be a combination of both ZiPS and Steamer projections. Additionally, our playoff odds are now computed using a combination of both ZiPS and Steamer.

The FanGraphs+ Player Profile Game

Inspired by our daily contest, the FanGraphs+ Player-Profile Game is now an actual game you can play on your very own, as often as you like!

The rules are simple. We take all the FanGraphs+ player profiles, removed the player’s name from said profile, and you have to guess whose profile it is. Your goal is to correctly guess as many in a row as possible. You have 60 seconds per round and you can guess incorrectly once each round. If you do exceptionally well, your guessing streak is recorded in the leaderboards so all can see that you are indeed awesome.

If you are already a FanGraphs+ subscriber and you get the answer wrong, you will be told the correct answer. However, if you are not a FanGraphs+ subscriber, you will be forever left wondering….

2014 FAN Projections!

The 2014 FAN Projection ballots are now open!

Before you can project any players, you’ll have to select the team you follow most closely towards the top of the screen. If you really don’t follow a team, just pick one. You’ll only have to do this once.

After you’ve selected a team, there are 9 categories for pitchers and 10 categories for position players. Pick the values in the drop-down boxes closest to what you think the player will do in 2014, hit the submit button and you’re done! If you made a mistake, you can always go back and change your selection at any time.

Please note that everything this year is a rate stat. You’re projecting 2B+3B, HR, SB, and Fielding as a measure of 150 games (basically a full season). The player’s previous stats are shown per 150 games in the projection ballot too. This will make changing playing time projections much easier as you’ll only have to change the games played portion.

That’s really all there is to it. You can filter players by team, or if you go to the player pages, you can project players individually. If you want to see all the players you’ve projected, you can click on the “My Rankings” button which will show you only what you specifically projected a player to do.

Fan Projections will show up on the player pages after there have been 5 ballots submitted.

If you do notice any issues, please let us know.
