So you’re saying Trout is good? Was that the point or did I just miss it?

While saying ‘Trout’s good’ is indeed the point – always the point – the purpose of the post, I’d guess, would be to highlight one of their new-ish fangled Fan Graphs that they are bringing to the site for your consumption.

The WAR graph tool has been there for a while, but only had data for position players feeding it.

And if you want to see Trout NOT on top of a graph, here you go:

Thanks. Did a graph of the Nats young core and it’s interesting how Ian Desmond and Jordan Zimmermann mirror each other.

One feature request that’d make this much more useful, though. Could you add the ability to select either standard WAR or RA9-WAR for pitchers?

Holy schnikes, I’d forgotten how good Pedro was and for how long.

I forgot what a late bloomer the Big Unit was:

http://www.fangraphs.com/graphsw.aspx?players=60,200

Pedro had 77.7 WAR up through age 32, Johnson had 77.7 WAR after age 32 if my math is correct.

Thank you for doing this, this is just lovely! An already great tool is now so much better. I’m curious, what were the challenges of getting pitchers implemented compared to batters?

Good graph.

Any way to get the axes to automatically scale? Having the maximum on y always be 100 WAR isn’t really useful for looking at current pitchers. It all gets crammed down at the bottom.

Nevermind, it seemed to fix itself?
