Dan Szymborski: It’s not really so bad as long as you’re using him as a role player. The risk, of course, is that he starts off with his usual good month with new team and tricks Giants into signing him

What Rookie ball and Short Season prospects appear to be breaking out?

: We still have about a month and a half until I’m comfortable really commenting on that… still too small of a sample. Three really good or bad games can really mess with the stats and the same can be said for the display of tools.

Hey Mike, thanks for hanging out. Who do you think are the most over and undervalued fantasy players? Pitcher, hitter, whatever

Mike Podhorzer: I’m going to give you general types, rather than specific names- Undervalued hitters are guys who do a little of everything, like Norichika Aoki. Pitchers, especially in the minors, are ground ballers who don’t have great strikeout rates

Mike Podhorzer: Overrated in fantasy is definitely power hitting first basemen. The top guys are routinely overvalued in my auction. Pitching? Guys whose ERAs are well below their SIERA marks the previous year?

Thinking about proposing my Fielder for Holliday and Minor. I have a big lead in a H2H league so I am looking ahead to the playoffs where ATL has one of the best pitching schedules and STL has one of the easiest hitting schedules. ATL also has one of the best pitching schedules ROS. I have Hosmer and Rizzo clogging up my util positons so this trade would give me a little more flexibiltiy too. Don’t sugar coat it … would I be stupid to propose this trade?

Dave Cameron: It’s Trade Value week — and also, I guess there was an All-Star Game last night — so I’d imagine we’ll have a lot of questions about the list so far, and what’s still to come over the next few days. We’re also getting closer to the trade deadline, so we can deal with who is likely going where by the end of July as well.

Dave Cameron: Chat is starting shortly. Trying to figure out what to do with the puppy. Right now, she’s having fun with the world’s largest zucchini, but I’m pretty sure that won’t last long.

Dave Cameron: I’d say hold. With Tulo back, a run at the division isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility, but they’re not quite at a spot where they should go for broke either.

Dave Cameron: Yeah, probably a lot of them. He’s good enough to play short, but he’s not Andrelton Simmons or Jose Iglesias or Didi Gregorius.

On the previous question, I haven’t ever run mid season projections. The best I have is PAIN which I will go over in detail on Thursday.

I’m in a 12-team dynasty league. Each team has six minor league spots. I’m toast for the year. My biggest trade chip is a one-year contract with Jose Bautista that I don’t see myself resigning long term and I want young, controllable talent. I’ve got a contender interested in him and he said anyone is on the table except Jose Fernandez, so that includes Jordan Zimmerman, Matt Moore, Patrick Corbinm Arenado, Jorge Soler, and Jackie Bradley. What do you think would be a reasonable asking price for Bautista using those guys? Sorry for the fantasy question.

Dan Szymborski: I’d probably *try* to get Zimmerman + one of the prospects, but I might have to settle for less.

Will the Cardinals keep Kolten Wong in the minors until he’s 26 as is their MO. Not sure what else he can do at AAA?

: Wong has solid numbers at AAA but he’s playing in a very good hitter’s league… It’s not like he’s exactly setting the world on fire. He’s not better than the Cards other options… His best hope (like Adams) would be a trade…
