Meeting of the Corey Kluber Society Tonight
The Purpose of This Post
The purpose of this post is to announce a meeting — in this case, at 7:10pm ET today (Saturday) — of the Corey Kluber Society.

About the Society
The Corey Kluber Society (or, frequently just “the Society”) is composed of individuals all bound by their singular enthusiasm for the works and days of Cleveland right-hander Corey Kluber.

How to Attend a Meeting
To attend a meeting of the Society, one needs merely to reap the whirlwind, metaphorically. One does that literally by watching Corey Kluber pitch on either MLB.TV or just Regular.TV.

On the Agenda
The agenda for today’s meeting (subject to change) is as follows:

1. Welcome, announcements, etc.
2. Elaborate and daring handshakes.
3. Report from the Subcommittee on Tartar Control.
4. Green light the SEAL incursion, stat.
5. In preparation for Kluber’s start, facilitate a death of the ego (a.k.a. kenosis).
6. Naps.
7. Watch Kluber’s start/ascend steps on ladder of mystical love.

Improving Text: Corey Kluber’s Changeup
Here’s action footage from the first inning of Kluber’s most recent start — in which footage, Kluber throws his changeup for a swinging strike to Eric Hosmer:

Other Improving Text: Anothers of Kluber’s Changeups
Here’s additional footage of Kluber’s changeup from that start — in this case to Elliot Johnson in very slow motion and from mostly behind home plate:

Kluber Johnson CH SS K 3rd Slow

One Other Announcement
The present author will be forced to attend today’s meeting by means of DVR, on account of he (along with Dayn Perry) is hosting a night of pleasure in Milwaukee at precisely the same time as Kluber’s start.

Today’s MLB.TV Free Game
Chicago NL at Colorado | 20:10 ET
Carlos Villanueva (80.1 IP, 101 xFIP-, 0.9 WAR) faces Juan Nicasio (88.1 IP, 117 xFIP-, 1.2 WAR). Of note: 23-year-old prospect Junior Lake made his major-league debut yesterday (Friday) for Chicago, playing center field (box). Lake was ranked 13th among Cubs prospects on Marc Hulet’s preseason organization list. He (i.e. Lake) possesses obvious physical tools, but his control of the strike zone — he posted a walk and strikeout rates of 5.9% and 19.4%, respectively, in 170 Triple-A plate appearances — is limited presently.

Readers’ Preferred Broadcast: Chicago NL Television.

Today’s Complete Schedule
Here’s the complete schedule for all of today’s games, with our very proprietary watchability (NERD) scores for each one. Pitching probables and game times aggregated from MLB.com and RotoWire. The average NERD Game Score for today is 5.1.
