Updated Update: First-Round Signees
A Note on the Following
A little less than a month ago, we published in these electronic pages a table of the first-round picks who’d signed so far, along with (a) the amount of each signee’s bonus, (b) MLB’s suggested bonus for each corresponding slot, and (c) photographs of the present author posing sensually without a shirt but with a giant snake.

What follows is that same table, updated to include signings that’ve occurred in the interim. The photos of the author, considered too hot for the whole internet, have been woefully omitted.

Note: the deadline to sign draft picks this year is July 13th, or roughly a month earlier than in recent seasons.

The following information has been aggregated from Baseball America and MLB Trade Rumors. Draftees who have begun their professional careers possess hyperlinks to relevant FanGraphs players pages (although Stryker Trahan’s page is oddly bereft of data, for some reason). Players marked with an asterisk (*) have signed since last update.

What the Reader Might Notice
The vigilant reader might notice that, while there were zero of them before, there are now three first-round draftees — Albert Almora with the Cubs, Corey Seager with the Dodgers, and Deven Marrero with the Red Sox — to have signed for an amount greater than that designated by the league.

Reminder: Penalties for Exceeding Bonus Pool
As a reminder, here are the penalties for a club that goes over its allotted pool amount (per Biz of Baseball):

0-5%: 75% tax on overage
5-10%: 75% tax on overage and loss of 1st round pick
10-15%: 100% tax on overage and loss of 1st and 2nd round picks
15%+: 100% tax on overage and loss of 1st round picks in next two drafts

Three Notes on Bonus Pools
Below is need-to-know information regarding three teams that have exceeded their allotted bonus-pool spending for the first 10 rounds.

• According to Baseball America’s Jim Callis, the signing of Almora put the Cubs slightly above their allotted bonus pool, and the club will have to pay a tax for that reason, but will not lose any picks.

• According to Jim Callis, again, the Dodgers’ signing of Corey Seager put the team $98,500 over budget for their signed picks in the first 10 rounds — with left-handed pitcher Paco Rodriguez, their second-round pick out of Florida, still yet to sign. Chad Moriyama reports that Rodriguez has now signed at the allotted slot value, meaning the Dodgers will pay tax but lose no picks.

• According to Alex Speier of WEEI, the Red Sox, in signing Brian Johnson, also exceeded their allotted draft pool for the first 10 rounds, but, like the Cubs, will only receive the 75% tax.
