Eno Sarris: I don’t think he has good command. He throws his stuff hard at the middle of the zone and sometimes, if the movement is down a bit for whatever reason, I think he can get hit.

Eno Sarris: Very interested in what he’s going to do next year, particularly with the K%. I have a feeling that he’ll debut poorly with a big K% and then do the work to whittle it down again. Good news is he’s … dripping with tools.

Eno Sarris: No. If you’re going to trade one of the hottest young shortstops in baseball — and I think I would trade Lindor over Correa eight times a week and twice on Sundays — you have to get a bat back. Carrasco plus something maybe.

Eno Sarris: Stroman over Urias, the bust rate lower on Stroman. I do think Urias is close and thought he might be up soon, thought he might be a reliever this fall, but maybe it’s not the results, maybe they saw something that created the results like a falling arm slot or velocity.

Eno Sarris: His K and swinging strike numbers are up huge since he went to slider/curve. He told me the right things about not worrying about velocity gap on his change. I’ll have him as a last pitcher in some leagues for sure.

Betts still has somewhat of a popup problem ~4% if I’m doing it right. But he’s put up BABIP over .300 over the full season and never seemed to have BABIP problems in the minors. He’s up to .290 on the season which is what he did in the minors as well. Safe to project .285+ into the future or still worried he drops into the .260/.270 range long term?

Eno Sarris: How much long term is left? Worried the injuries come more often and his play suffers from playing through them, like they did this year. I believe he hits the ball hard, and that he’s done a lot to mitigate his flaws but I’m still worried about a cratering in O-contact%.

Eno Sarris: I don’t think he has much upside left (except in OBP, I think that can come back) so this is pretty much who he is. If that’s keepable in your settings, that’s fine. Swihart might be a productive major leaguer but not have a fantasy bat.

Eno Sarris: Nah I think it’s just ironic that the Twins have a hall of fame case for Jack Morris built on the belief that he pitched to the score. I agree you should pitch well often. I could see a few more sinkers than breaking pitches if you’re up, but if you become really predictable, you can get in big trouble.

Probably stupid theory: wouldn’t it be better to have your batters be relatively homogenous in terms of type? Patience-power guys go well with other patience-power guys because they get guys on base and then let them walk home. Speed-contact guys go well with more speed-contact guys, because speed matters more when the ball is in play more. Probably not enough value to be squeezed out here, but it’s also easy to think of a lot of winning teams that had a type.

Eno Sarris: Simulations have shown that mixes are better and I think it’s more about matchups. Let’s say you have a control meister on the board, maybe the patience guys have a little trouble but the contact guys are happy.

I’m in a holds league (dynasty) for the first time and I’m not sure what to do with the RPs I have. I managed to grab a lot of top relievers (Watson, Capps, Kela, McGee) and would like to keep them. But there are also a lot of unowned RPs that I could just grab next year. Do I keep these RPs instead of players like Souza, KDavis, Hammel, or Medlen? Or over a potential closer like Wilhelmson?

Eno Sarris: Holds guys are easy to grab. Try not to keep any of them, though Kela probably closest to being a closer next year, he’s somewhat tempting. Rather have Souza and Davis at least.

What do you think of Ross Ohlendorf? Does he make the Rangers playoff roster?

Eno Sarris: Talked to Reddick about taking Ohlendorf yard and he told me that they’ve been facing each other since they were 10 or something, and that Ross would hear about the homer later that day. He also is the guy that won his arbitration case on FIP type stuff. Other than that, my cupboard is bare.

Why do you keep saying you prject steals for Domingo Santana. He never really had any big steals stats in the minors.

Eno Sarris: I do keep saying that? I mean I think he can steal 5-7 a year, he looks that way in the field and on the basepaths, and even though that’s not a lot, it does mean he’s not going to be a minus there. Average fantasy OF gets something like 8 steals.

Eno Sarris: The sinker gets 8% whiffs! It is worse velocity than I thought he’s down. But the four-seam has rise, the sinker has great fade, the change looks good by gap and velo… The slider being 78 might be a problem at some point. I wish he was in the NL.

Eno Sarris: I’ll give the Cardinals that before I give the Twins that. Eddie Rosario is going to regress next year IMO. Hicks had good minor league stats. Who else we talking about? Plouffe was decent in minor leagues too. The Cardinals are churning out high exit velocity guys right now.

If you had to leave all your fantasy leagues and are the commish of your only league next year, what are your settings?

Eno Sarris: My oldest league is dynasty 6×6 with OPS and Holds, which is simple and I’m okay with it. But it’s not deep enough for my taste. I think I’d go to 20 teams and add some lineup slots. Probably get rid of the minor league slots.

Eno Sarris: Yeah they could sit Thor pretty easily, or let him pitch three or four. I like your plan.
