Eno Sarris Baseball Chat — 11/10/16

1:09
Eno Sarris: This time of year it’s all

12:00
Eno Sarris: I am here.

12:00
RABBINICAL COLLEGE GUY: Your full take on RA Dickey to the Braves?

12:01
Eno Sarris: He’s not what he used to be! He can’t get the hard 80 mph knuckler over the plate like he used to. He’s also likely to be league average and an asset either to the Braves or to another team late-season.

12:02
Roadhog: Could the A’s try for Verlander? I see them as taking on an unexpected big contract this season (they do have lots of money to spare and just got yelled at for not spending)

12:02
Eno Sarris: Huh. If it costs less in prospects and they have some budget… on the other hand, they’ve been at 87 million forever. Which kinda makes me mad. Rev sharing plus tv contract = 85 mill. Team’s paid for before a single fan walks through the door.

12:03
CamdenWarehouse: What type of season does Upton need next year to make the opt out a no-brainer

12:04
Eno Sarris: I don’t think he will! If he turned it back to 2014, when he was a four-win player at 26, maybe, but he’s not 26 any more and the numbers have never liked his defense and the sample is getting big enough. Plus, if you watch him… he’s not good at D.

12:05
Minty: OBP league Springer or Dahl the next 3 years?

12:05
Eno Sarris: Dahl going to steal some bases, but I like the bird in hand. Springer in his peak.

12:05
Roadhog: How long before Eric Thames signs with the A’s, for like 4/16 or something?

12:06
Eno Sarris: totally their type of deal.

12:06
Thomas: Remind me rookie pitchers who you’re excited about for next year? Cotton on the As, any others?

12:07
Eno Sarris: Cotton, Stewart, Adalberto Mejia, Seth Lugo, DAvid Paulino, Robert Gsellman

12:07
Drew: Tried to talk about first $100M reliever through lens of $ value of prospects and none of you dudes took me up on it. How much was Gleyber worth in cash vs how much was half year of Chapman worth? Would that line of reasoning not inform potential $ spent on closer this winter?

12:08
Eno Sarris: The problem is that Chapman was worth more to the Cubs than he would be worth at the beginning of the season because the Cubs knew they were going to the postseason. So they get that added value in the postseason which you can’t really figure in to Chapman’s regular season / contract value.

12:08
JD15: Seems like this would be a great time for Cubs to try and lock up some of their young guys to long term deals. This is obviously complicated by the fact that Boras is agent to Bryant and Russell. Which of the young guys are likely to take a long term deal? Does is make sense for Cubs to try and do this instead of spending their World Series money on average FA or overspending on the big relievers?

12:08
Eno Sarris: I’m sure they’ve been trying for a long time and they won’t be able to. Rizzo probably telling them not to.

12:08
Kiermaier’s Piercing Blue Eyes: Eno! Tell us all about Brent Honeywell!

12:09
Eno Sarris: If command is confidence and athleticism and repeatability — and I think it might be — then he’s got all of those in spades despite the weird delivery. Plus SCROOOOOOGIEEEEEEE

12:10
Jake: What type of return could the White Sox possibly get in a Nate Jones trade?

12:10
Eno Sarris: With that contract… not a Giles return, but a good one.

12:10
gaius marius: Eno, can we get an analysis on when it becomes inappropriate to still be drinking champagne in celebration of the Cubs world championship? please tell me it is still okay.

12:10
Eno Sarris: Drinking I can get behind. Champagne is just liquid headache to me.

12:11
Bork: hello, friend!

12:11
Eno Sarris: hello!

12:11
Dumpster Fiers: What are your thoughts on Wily Peralta? He had a pretty solid finish to the year.

12:11
Eno Sarris: Velocity bump did him well but he still doesn’t have a third pitch or the command to make two pitches work.

12:12
Josh: Pirates best outfield alignment is? And is it worth it to have a home/road alignment given the complexity of PNC Park?

12:13
Eno Sarris: I’m thinking last year’s defensive numbers for McCutchen (bad) were a bit of an anomaly related to the Pirates’ new attitude about outfield positioning. I think he’s a true talent -5 CF. As good as Polanco looks with the eye test, his number suggest he’s a scratch corner outfielder, so he would probably not be an improvement in center. Starling Marte may be about the same as Cutch, maybe.

12:14
Guest: Is there a FA outfielder that you think makes sense for SF? Do you think they have any interest in playing at the top of the market in both the OF and the pen or, if one, which?

12:16
Eno Sarris: I think they’ll let Williamson and Parker handle left field and buy depth and spend in the bullpen. So maybe Peter Bourjos or take a shot on a reclamation project.

12:16
Roadhog: A’s 2017 infield: Chapman, Semien, Baretto, Healy?

12:17
Eno Sarris: Barreto not there yet. Healy and Semien, yes. Wendle and Lowrie at second. Alonso and something at first, dunno if it’ll be a rookie.

12:17
DannyP: What kind of return does Jorge Soler get you if you’re the Cubs? What level of major leaguer/prospects can be had?

12:17
Eno Sarris: Might be the guy they trade for a reliever. A stud reliever. On a good contract.

12:18
fresh basil: Thoughts on the Robles-Cutch rumor? As a Buck fan I’d want a bit more but I’d love to have Robles sitting in the wings.

12:18
Eno Sarris: Cutch going to be super rumor guy for sure. Meadows is ready.

12:18
Bruce: Glasnows been a 5bb/9 guy his entire career. Can he succeed at 10K/9 5BB/9?

12:19
Eno Sarris: In the national league. For a while.

12:19
Eno Sarris: Also, all those levers might be able to get in alignment for a while. Sometimes it takes that type a while to find it.

12:19
Diadem: What are the chances Montgomery is in the Cub’s starting rotation in 2017?

12:20
Eno Sarris: As of now, he’s the fifth starter. I actually think he might stay that way, with Z as the sixth starter and Brooks as seventh.

12:20
Andrew: Who is the logical fit for Holland? Red Sox?

12:20
Eno Sarris: Someone with room on the 40 man and in the rotation. I think he’ll take opportunity over competitiveness.

12:20
Eno Sarris:

12:21
Eno Sarris: supermellow

12:21
R.A. Dickey: How much are the Braves paying me?

12:21
Eno Sarris: 8-10 million?

12:21
Dana: Have we seen peak Marcus Stroman?

12:22
Eno Sarris: Second half Stroman maybe. Was using four-seamer, slider, curve for Ks, sinker for GBs.

12:22
James: Does Demeritte’s rise in stock allow Atlanta to float Albies in trade talks for a legit starter? We have between 7 and 9 top 100 prospects to work with.

12:23
Eno Sarris: The depth allows them to really trade anyone. They don’t actually have top-top prospects, which worries me a little, and I’m sure they have their favorites and won’t trade all of them, but I can’t imagine they have a lot of untouchable minor league pieces.

12:23
Dave: Bryce Harper has to rebound, right? Maybe goes from “not even listening” to “would need to be blown away” in the eyes of some? Good time to pounce?

12:23
Eno Sarris: I think he was hurt and should be healthy but may be injury-prone.

12:24
Dave: What is Eloy Jimenez’s ceiling?

12:24
Eno Sarris: Well he won’t play center, steal bases, or have a 15% walk rate, I don’t think. But otherwise, all of the power.

12:24
Drew: That theory on command is dope. I’m sending that to my former college coach.

12:26
Eno Sarris: Confidence to throw it into the zone, athleticism to keep body parts in the right places, and repeatability to make the process of keeping those parts in the right places easier. Even Hendricks has the confidence to throw inside from a righty to a lefty, and the (I guess) clean mechanics to make it easier. I suppose he’s a better athlete than people think.

12:26
Lure of the Animal: Who’s the quietest player you’ve interacted with?

12:27
Eno Sarris: Early Addison Russell would look down when he started his answers. He’s the guy that first comes to mind, even if it’s not that way any more.

12:27
Neel: do you think its possible that Colorado might have decent pitching next year? can Gray and Anderson take steps forward

12:28
Eno Sarris: Gray can, and Anderson is who he is, and Butler has a non-zero non-10% chance of putting things together, and their position player youth is exciting enough to make the back-end types play.

12:28
buck’s back: The O’s are looking for a corner OF. But budget constraints means that Cespedes and probably Desmond are out of the picture. What are their alternatives? Would signing Reddick to a three year deal at ~36 million make sense? If he can stay healthy he should help both with the bat and the glove. If he can’t, they haven’t lost a ton of money. Thoughts?

12:28
Eno Sarris: Oh man Reddick would be awesome there, and it actually makes some sense.

12:29
Nick: Does Urias and Verdugo start a trade for Sale?

12:29
Eno Sarris: Probably still two really good pieces away. Not sure you get away with getting Sale without giving up Bellinger too.

12:30
dgrussel: What is looking like the thinnest position for fantasy next year? Deepest?

12:30
Eno Sarris: We’ll see, but there are a lot of 3b/SS types actually, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the thinnest is second or catcher.

12:32
Minty: As a Bucco fan, should I be eager to trade Cutch and have Meadows replace him?

12:32
Eno Sarris: No, I mean Meadows is fun, and unlocked the power that his posterior projected, but it’s not like he just tore through the minor leagues and is a lock to be as good as Cutch, and asking for him to be better…

12:32
Miketron: Who would you be more worried about getting TJ in 2017, Gerrit Cole or Thor?

12:33
Eno Sarris: Cole missed more time but Thor throws harder… Cole.

12:33
Drew: What’s the reasoning for Cardinals accepting Garcia option?

12:33
Eno Sarris: He’d get more than $12m on the market, at worst case is depth or trade piece.

12:34
Joe: My dude, have you ever seen Cutch throw a baseball? Even if Marte is the same rangewise (which I strongly disagree with) his arm puts him way ahead of Cutch defense-wise in CF.

12:34
Eno Sarris: Long history of noodles in center.

12:34
Lure of the Animal: Re Soler trade, would they have to add other pieces to get Wade Davis?

12:34
Eno Sarris: I wouldn’t think so but Gleyber Torres got a half season of the best or second best reliever so

12:34
Matt: Current Braves rotation: Teheran, Folty, Dickey, ______, ______. Who are the blanks going to be?

12:34
Eno Sarris: They going to give Wisler another chance, I think.

12:35
Dumpster Fiers: Adalberto Mejia . He have a rotation spot and what do you expect?

12:35
Eno Sarris: Not sure. He’s more of a deeper league guy, wait and see. But high spin rate fastball, plus slider, and a change he’s learning feel for. Right now I think he’s sixth or seventh, counting Hughes ahead of him.

12:36
Nelson: If you had to give up alcahol, would you turn into a craft coffee guy, root beer?

12:36
Eno Sarris: Yogurt.

12:36
desmond: do you think the giants are a bigger threat to steal jansen from the dodgers then most of us dodgers fans think ???

12:37
Eno Sarris: The Giants, Nationals, Dodgers are going to go at it for Jansen and Chapman. Can’t imagine the Cubs don’t take part, too, even if they say they won’t.

12:37
mario mendoza: Thoughts on Max Kepler? Uninspiring year despite rash of just-enough HRs. KATOH loved him, but is the real-world talent there?

12:38
Eno Sarris: I like that the walk rate was there most of the time even as the power disappeared. Statcast said he was going to fall off before he did, so he does need to hit the ball a little harder. I still like him.

12:38
DN: What is Michael Conforto’s line next year?

12:38
Eno Sarris: .500/.750/1.000

12:39
Eno Sarris: I’m writing about him and ‘bad barrels’ today because he barreled the ball last year. I like that he can push and pull, and I’ll take the over on his projected BA/OBP and give him .275/.345/.475 or something. Real nice player

12:39
Nelson: I mostly like Bryant cause he has some acne. Feels relatable

12:40
E: I haven’t had a beer in like, 2 weeks.

12:40
Sandy A: What’s your opinion on Kaepernick’s decision to not vote?

12:40
Eno Sarris: Terrible interlude guys.

12:40
Roadhog: Mengden + Holmes + Nunez + Pinder for Verlander, who says no?

12:41
Eno Sarris: A’s unless much money swallowed. They in talent acquisition mode… at least until tomorrow when they trade everyone off.

12:41
NutButters: Writer’s question: do you (or anyone else at FG) use software to help project manage writing your pieces?

12:42
Eno Sarris: I have a very sophisticated software to manage my stuff, called lots of stray bits of paper next to my computer. it’s awesome.

12:42
Ryan: Hi Eno!! I was curious to get your thoughts on the dbacks retaining Mike Butcher as pitching coach after a lot of regression from talented pitchers?

12:42
Eno Sarris: Perhaps they figured the problem was in the acquisition phase, or they asked the pitchers and they liked him? Or maybe there will be more moves next year anyway.

12:44
Michael: Are there any teams that seemingly prevent tommy john by just having far less elbow injuries than other team?

12:44
Eno Sarris: Baltimore and Chicago (AL) have had some luck, maybe. They still have their fair share of injuries, and I can’t believe there’s a secret sauce.

12:46
E: How much extra money did the Indians make with their post season run? How do you think should use it?

12:48
Eno Sarris: You get about 40% of your postseason gate, and the Giants made $3m per game in the postseason in 2012 I think. They played 13 games, so maybe they made an extra $15-20 million? Maybe more in 2016. Also: winning puts more buts in the seats next year (usually), so there’s some money there.

12:48
Nelson: I never hear of MLB players getting busted for pot. Is it banned in baseball?

12:48
Eno Sarris: Not tested for in the major leagues.

12:48
Michael: Read an article today suggesting Yankees go after Jansen rather than Chapman. Doesn’t make sense because they could use a lefty and that draft pick, right?

12:49
Eno Sarris: The draft pick is a major source of separation between the two. Otherwise, they’re two of the top three or four free agent relievers in the last ten years.

12:49
Josh: Brett Anderson one of the more under-the-radar FAs in your opinion?

12:50
Eno Sarris: Man. 11 innings last year. I’d go get him, still, but maybe 1/5 or something.

12:50
Von Schloss: What is your opinion of the Rays’ infield of Longoria, Duffy, Forsythe & Miller?

12:50
Eno Sarris: Not a plus defender in the group? But decent bats.

12:50
Miketron: Last keeper in a roto league with OPS: Sano or Kang?

12:51
Eno Sarris: Sano.

12:51
ohioastrosfan: So Cabrera to Houston has merit. What about a bigger deal – Verlander and Cabrera (maybe a small amount of money) for Martes, Reed, K Tucker. Salary dump successful, and a good return.

12:51
Eno Sarris: Uh so that’s not terrible. A prospect or two light, but the money part can figure that out too.

12:51
Travis: Think Kevin Maitan will be one of those “top-top” prospects for the Braves?

12:52
Eno Sarris: Ah yeah he’s probably untouchable, and will probably be a top ten prospect before long. My b, forgot about Maitan.

12:52
NutButters: Writer’s pro-tip: get a fancy fountain pen if you still write / take notes in the analog domain. bonus tip: re-learn cursive and you will be cooler than someone who tips using $2 bills.

12:52
fresh basil: Got a hearty laugh out of Matt Stairs becoming a hitting coach for the Phils.

12:52
forever it: Not surprised people aren’t in a mood to lude after Tuesday

12:52
Eno Sarris: A little better, I guess, and understandable.

12:52
E: Indians are showing interest in Holland, what a bullpen that would be

12:53
Eno Sarris: Yeah I’d look to sign Holland turn him into Miller. Maybe with Cashner too. That’s my plan for my fifth starter, on my mythical team. And I don’t really love either guy, but they might be cheapish, and they’d make lights out relievers.

12:53
Michael: Is there any nutritional factor that goes into ligament damage? Like calcium strengthening bones.

12:54
Eno Sarris: If there is, most teams are not doing much about this, or weren’t five years ago. Now, more teams are starting to try and at least put the cheapest gas in the gas tank instead of water.

12:54
Drew: Why doesn’t Hyun-soo Kim hit more HRs? I think his total goes up next year once he learns to hit more fly balls in Camden. What says you?

12:54
Eno Sarris: He’s super oppo, bit of a spray guy, but when he does pull, he can hit some.

12:54
fresh basil: Just straight up dumped a ton of habenero salsa on a cheesesteak. Gonna be an interesting evening

12:54
Eno Sarris: yow

12:54
Eno Sarris:

12:55
Dan: Eno! Please answer: Schwarber + Baez for Sale, who hangs up first?

12:55
Eno Sarris: Man I don’t think the Cubs would do that, but Sale is great and on a great contract…

12:55
Sadday2016: Ennooooo, taking a trip to Seattle for the first time. Brewery recs? Thanks.

12:55
Eno Sarris: Holy Mountain for best beer, Cloudburst for best location and good beer (Pike Place). Georgetown good too, but by park.

12:55
Bob: Do the Cards get Inciarte or Kiermaier for Weaver, Garcia, and a mid-level prospect like Sosa? What would the have to give up to get either GG CFer?

12:56
Eno Sarris: I did say it’s possible for them but I don’t get the idea that the Cards need a GG CFer most.

12:57
Sandor: Who would you, realistically, like to see starting in CF for the Cardinals next year? Who is the best plausible fit?

12:58
Eno Sarris: I actually think Wong could be okay out there. Second is Gyorko, pretty much.

12:58
Rufus T. Firefly: I know it’s a baseball site. I love baseball. But the grief, Eno. This is a national tragedy….Thoughts?

12:59
Eno Sarris: I’ve been in avoid mode for now. But whatever you think of Tr***’s (purported) policies, I can’t imagine you love this guy as a person. I’ve never seen anything but odiousness from him as a person.

12:59
Gabe: Best beer to pair with the traditional Thanksgiving meal?

12:59
Eno Sarris: I’d go with a bourbon stout, especially since it’s that time of year to talk to the other wing of the family, and politics will come up. I guess The Abyss stout is perfect.

12:59
Michael: RE: nutritional factor for ligaments I looked it up and apparently vitamins Magnesium, B6 and B12 do that. Foods like salmon, chicken, spinach, clams, trout, avocado, etc.

12:59
Eno Sarris: CLAMS CASINO

1:00
Mike Hazen: Any tips for what I should be doing in Arizona?

1:00
Eno Sarris: Watching AFL, going to Arizona Wilderness and McFate brewing, hiking, being outside, maybe frisbee golf.

1:00
steve: Does trading Sale lower the trade value of Quintana, if the Sox were to do both in the same offseason?

1:01
Eno Sarris: Interesting. I could see an argument for trading Q first then, because Sale will get everything no matter what’s remaining on the team.

1:01
Math-eny: T.Rosenthal as a starter?

1:02
Eno Sarris: Doubt the command gets *better* so I don’t think I’m in on him. But if it’s to try and get 80-100 innings out of him in the middle innings… could be sneaky smart.

1:02
Miketron: How long should you cellar a beer for?

1:02
Eno Sarris: Only hot bourbon stouts, really, okay also sours too and maybe some saisons, but but the last I wouldn’t age forever and the first is really up to you.

1:02
Jimbo: Who do you like, Mazara or Benintendi?

1:03
Eno Sarris: Don’t make me choose. Don’t! I think Mazara will have more power long term and Ben more hit tool, but I guess I’ll take Ben for now.

1:04
Matt: So I traded Nomar Mazara for Xander Bogaerts, Wil Myers, and Eloy Jimenez in a deep dynasty points league… this can’t backfire, right?

1:04
Eno Sarris: Xander gives you so much floor.

1:04
Bob: Which of the top Yankees prospects to you see has having the most accelerated path to MLB (not how close, but rate)? Thx

1:04
Eno Sarris: Frazier is right there.

1:04
BK: Re: Cubs/Chapman. Flags fly forever. short of their 1st born, the cubs could of given up anything and it would of been worthwhile.

1:05
Eno Sarris: Oh sure, just commenting on the value of a reliever in trade. Maybe if you add something to a stud young cheap reliever that’s worth more than the pieces the Cubs add to Soler, you have a trade.

1:05
klof: when you cellar a beer, do you do it at fridge temp or just make sure it stays below room temp?

1:05
Eno Sarris: Dark/light is most important.

1:06
Drew: Any thoughts on Arrieta’s comment about Hollywood packing their bags? Lowkey surprised you answered a political question so let’s see if you answer another.

1:06
Eno Sarris: I mean I don’t agree with his politics but sure he can tweet dumb things. We all do.

1:06
A cat: Went to a birthday party last weekend. It was BYOB. But when I arrived, there was a half keg of Sculpin. It was my first time. But I was the driver. That one beer was, well, fulfilling.

1:07
Eno Sarris: It’s still a really good beer, especially fresh. Score has gone down as it’s been distributed more widely, but it’s still v good.

1:07
Phil: Do the nationals have a bigger hole going into next year at catcher or in center field? Is Severino really going to be starting next year already or will they try to get a stop gag?

1:08
Eno Sarris: The bigger deal is having both, I guess. Easier to fill center field, maybe, so I think they focus there and get a veteran behind the plate.

1:09
JoJo: Is it really a big deal as to who catches a Knuckleballer like Dickey? Josh Thole has caught around 900 more innings of Dickey than any other catcher.

1:09
Eno Sarris: It looks really, really hard. You have to throw framing out the window and just make sure you get the dang thing. Which is hard, because it goes against their training.

1:09
E: meatball sub?

1:09
Eno Sarris: I’m buying.

1:09
Eno Sarris: Although: acid reflux wowza. I am buying my sandwich today though. Excited just thinking about it.

1:10
ohioastrosfan: Start a franchise with one player – Who?

1:10
Eno Sarris: Carlos. Correa.

1:10
Eno Sarris: I believe in his defense. Plus plus makeup. All five tools. Excellent with media. Excellent with teammates. Bilingual.

1:10
Hank: Do you think Addison Russell takes another step forward offensively next season?

1:11
Eno Sarris: I’m a little worried about his problems because he swings at too many pitches inside and hasn’t done much with low and away, so it’s really two problems. But I’ve seen him shrink his swing zone before, and he’s so young, so yeah I think there’s more there.

1:12
Sno Earris: If Lester, Lackey, and Arrieta all get hit with the olds–whether its regression or injury–and are worth significantly less than this year, how much trouble are the Cubs in?

1:12
Eno Sarris: Only one is on a long-term contract, and I feel like his arsenal can handle the drop in velo more than anyone’s because it relies on everything looking the same, not necessarily on everything looking different (like Scherzer, say).

1:13
BK: Re Chapman/Cubs. I got it. being a bit of a smartass as I’m still very happy about breaking the 108 year drought.

1:13
ohioastrosfan: who has higher WAR next year – Correa or Altuve?

1:13
Eno Sarris: Correa by more than one win.

1:13
Math-eny: Does Holliday land back in COL? Possible beneficial mutual reunion.

1:14
Eno Sarris: As their first baseman! He even has some experience there! Parra looked putrid there.

1:15
John: Any big league shortstops comparable to Amed Rosario?

1:16
Eno Sarris: Maybe an Elvis Andrus, maybe a Brandon Crawford, 95th percentile a Lindor I guess. Really good defense, emerging power, good plate skills, good speed.

1:16
ohioastrosfan: When do 2017 projections drop?

1:16
Eno Sarris: They’re up! In the auction calculator, in the depth charts. all around.

1:16
Snarfle: I was the walrus.

1:16
Eno Sarris: finally one person willing to be ridiculous.

1:17
Richie: I mean, Da Vinci Code fans are sure the Catholic church is up to something shady, that stupid Oprah prison memoir thing fooled so many despite being so transparent to the rest of us. Professional wrestling fans of the 50s were convinced those programs were mostly on the up-and-up. We really really like pretending our entertainment is way more authentic than it is.

1:17
Ens Sarrio: Is Carlos Martinez going to win a Cy Young in the next three years? Why havent the Cards extended him yet?

1:17
Eno Sarris: I don’t think you extend those mechanics. Flies open a lot.

1:17
Kosch: Does Boston have the best OF next season?

1:19
Eno Sarris: Dodgers actually average close to the same level on our Depth Charts, surprisingly, and the Pirates OF is also sexy time.

1:19
Pat: Wade Davis for Reynaldo Lopez, who says no first?

1:19
Eno Sarris: Royals.

1:20
Big Joe Mufferaw: Think Keon Broxton can pull a Mike Cameron type season? 240, near 30-30 with a good amound of walks and a bunch of Ks.. GG type D?

1:20
Eno Sarris: That’s really pushing the projection. More of a .220/15/30 guy and even that is being a bit nice.

1:20
Sir Nerdlington: Saw you at the Fall Stars game and wanted to say hello and that I enjoy what you write, but I’m horrible at approaching people cold. What’s the least awkward approach you’ve taken to do something like that?

1:21
Eno Sarris: well my line in the clubhouse is have you heard of fangraphs, but that’s working more days than one. If you just said hello and I enjoy what you write, I would have shook your hand and talked baseball a while. I’m not a dick.

1:21
Sir Nerdlington: Honeywell looked lights out at the Fall Stars game. What do you make of his screwball?

1:22
Eno Sarris: Makes me a bit nervous with the things Braden said about injury, but it’s a great pitch and I really enjoyed watching him.

1:22
The Hamburglar: Could the lack of a decent FA class actually make this offseason more exciting? Seems like teams will need to find more creative trades and moves if they want to improve/contend next year.

1:22
Eno Sarris: I’m hoping yeah.

1:23
Dan: What do you see Matt Strahm doing this season?

1:23
Eno Sarris: He says he doesn’t know what his role will be. Has the pitches to be a starter, and the team had a down year and needs starters, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they give him one more chance there.

1:24
Ampersand: Had a Born Yesterday and it tasted light onions – it was disgusting. 🙁 did I just get a bad one?

1:25
Eno Sarris: V weird. Most have liked it, and it’s a citra beer, so you *should* have gotten melons or stone fruit and a bit of citrus. OH! I know what it is. I bet you don’t love fresh hops. That imparts what most call a ‘vegetable’ quality to the beer. I like it, some don’t.

1:26
DN: Royals wouldn’t trade Davis for a borderline top 20 prospect in the game?

1:26
Eno Sarris: People like Lopez that much huh. If the Royals do, they’ll do the trade.

1:27
Eno Sarris: I see a v low spin rate fastball with good velo but very average movement, a meh change and a good curve, so I might want another prospect, could be low-level.

1:27
Snarfle: Sexy numbers: 7, 37, 144, 80000. Not sexy: 4, 22, 9.99, 653.

1:28
DN: Sickels had him at 21. Only list I’ve seen come out yet

1:28
Miketron: Do you like Phil Collins? I do!

1:28
Eno Sarris: I CAN FEEL IT COMING IN THE AIR TONIGHT

1:28
Eno Sarris: I will tell you I don’t like Phil Collins and then I will belt out a song of his, incorrectly.

1:29
ChatzMcGee: Deep dynasty, OBP, would you do this trade: Puig, Soler and Billy McKinney or Peter O’Brien for Buxton? I feel like I should.

1:29
Eno Sarris: Man I’m not that in on Buxton but yeah he’s got the best ceiling of the bunch. If you have some depth, do it.

1:29
Armistice Day: How do you view Robert Gsellman and Seth Lugo?

1:30
Eno Sarris: I used to like Lugo more because he has the standout pitch, but Gsellman starting with more pitches and more velocity, so if he can tweak a pitch or two, he’s got the tools.

1:30
Snarfle: How mush do we Gary Sanchez?

1:30
Eno Sarris: All of the mush.

1:30
Eno Sarris: I’ve got to finish my piece on bad barrels! turns out, spin and direction matter!

1:30
Eno Sarris: Thanks for hanging out!

Many many people are in great moods following Tuesday. For the wretched left, just shut up and leave instead of continuing to poison this country.

Yeah the right is perfect.

Oh wait forgot about the 22 people found GUILTY in the abrahamoff scandal and dozens of others arrested throughout the last right presidency, including a sitting replublican house member.

Politics suck in general. If you think everything is not on both sides you got some good koolaid. It’s people who attack other sides because they don’t agree that are poison.

Would be good if people take these conversations elsewhere and we focus on our collective love of baseball and more specifically statistical analysis of baseball?

I’m much more interested in talking about the Braves signing RA Dickey and Bartolo Colon this week than the outcome of Tuesday’s election and I suspect that I am not alone.

This, precisely.
