guten Tag Eno, wie geht’s?

12:02
Eno Sarris: Gut!

12:02
Comment From Astro Boy
Does the trade to Houston increase the fantasy value of Evan Gattis? What kind of numbers do you expect from him this season?

12:02
Eno Sarris: I suppose he could hit closer to 30 than 25, yes. And with the DH, he should be able to play more. But! DHing is a skill, and we’re not quite sure he has it. If he does, it might be a great year. He’s a top-three or four catcher in redrafts either way.

12:03
Comment From Roger Dodger
Am I crazy to think that the platoon of Alex Rios and Jarrod Dyson could make for a very good fantasy player in 2015?

12:03
Eno Sarris: Well, the Dyson side at least.

12:03
Comment From Mark
Good morning, Eno. How long can you let a rebound candidate (i.e. Kipnis) fail at the start of the season before intervening?

12:04
Eno Sarris: He went 3.36 in our mock. I’d have a hard time letting him leave the third round myself. Players that play through injury are underprojected for power, Zimm showed that. So he can probably still .270/18/20+.

12:04
Comment From Mark
Keep 1: Greinke or Darvishn (QS, OBPA)

12:04
Eno Sarris: I see them both as moderate injury risks, but I’ll take the NL guy.

12:04
Comment From Tony G.
Has Carlos Santana hit his ceiling, or does he still have a career year left in him?

12:04
Eno Sarris: There’s always a chance he gets BABIP lucky one year and it looks amazing.

12:05
Comment From Marty
Do the Mets need a new SS or can they roll with the 1 WAR+ out of Flores and be fine? Seems like people are just focusing on that one position, which is a detriment to a bunch of teams.

12:05
Eno Sarris: To win 81 games, no I don’t think they need a better shortstop than a Herrera/Tejada/Flores scrum. But to be better than that, it’s the most obvious place they can improve.

12:05
Comment From AL Pitching Coach
Looking for some top notch non-closing relievers in the AL. The obvious 1-2 are Davis/Miller, but who would you rank as the top 3 from guys like Boxberger, Farquhar, Fujikawa, Bedrosian and Clippard?

12:05
Eno Sarris: Clippard and… Fuji or Farq.

12:06
Comment From Pat
I know it’s way early, but Arrieta being taken as the 26th SP in NFBC is crazy, right? All signs point to a (mostly) repeatable 2015, right?

12:07
Eno Sarris: Yeah my worries with Arrieta are more about long term health throwing all those sliders, especially with his health history. That should ding him a little in redrafts, but not that much. He went 10.116 in ours though, so that’s probably about the same as 26th highest, maybe worse.

12:07
Comment From Bob
What does a peak Bryce Harper season look like?

12:07
Eno Sarris: I know he had thigh issues, but I’m dinging his peak stolen base total from where I thought it was before. .280/35/10 with great OBP and stellar corner O defense.

12:07
Comment From Kris
I’ve got a FW XVIII en route, what should i expect? Big bourbon everywhere?

12:08
Eno Sarris: Sure. I haven’t popped mine yet though. Normally, it’s very complex because it’s blended. Lots going on in there.

12:08
Comment From John Stamos
Good morning Eno! If you are starting a dynasty league, would you prefer to do an auction draft or snake draft? Any other comments?

12:08
Eno Sarris: I prefer auctions if everyone has the attentions span and time. It also makes things easier when it comes to dynasties — going forward, the players have a number associated with them. Ottoneu makes keeping track of all that easy.

12:08
Comment From hscer
Do the Nationals plan to see how few games they can win the East with this year?

12:09
Eno Sarris: I think the consensus is that they made their team better with Yunel, I was mostly trying to play devil’s advocate in a way. Also, Yunel cost less than Clippard, which is sort of amazing, and may have been important. That I don’t know.

12:09
Comment From Mark
I don’t know EXACTLY what the highlight of this coming weekend will be, but 4 year vertical of Avery’s Mephistopheles is a strong early contender.

12:09
Eno Sarris: Fact: Avery makes the strongest beer, on average, in the world.

12:10
Comment From Kris
Preliminary keeper decisions: Choose 1 – 24th round Big Fern, 5th round MadBum, 10th round Aroldis

12:10
Eno Sarris: If you can keep these guys going forward, I like Fernandez. I think Aroldis probably offers the most 2015 surplus though.

12:10
Comment From illegalblue
that viet cong album is the best thing i’ve heard in years

12:10
Eno Sarris: I’ve only heard one song (spotify) and I loved it.

12:11
Comment From Sweet Lou
I know that auctions are unpredictable, but going in to an AL/NL-only auction with a $260 budget, what would you say is the optimal amount to allot to SP/RP/Bats?

12:12
Eno Sarris: I have extreme confidence in my ability to pick sleeper pitchers, so I’m pushing past 70/30 this year. Maybe I give myself a little money to try and pick a better closer. I keep getting about 1.5 closers out of buying 3 setup men, but those 1.5 closers aren’t always great. I usually only spend around 20 bucks on relievers.

12:12
Comment From Art Vandelay
The extremely vocal minority that accuses you of taking money from Billy Beane cracks me up every time.

12:13
Eno Sarris: When Billy Beane said we were the best site out there to all the Oakland beat writers, I knew I’d have a problem in a few different ways.

12:13
Comment From Scott Kazmir
I’m owned at $12 in an AL-only league. How good of a keeper am I, or should I even be kept at that price?

12:13
Eno Sarris: I’d be shopping you hard. As for keeping, yeah I think I might. But if he started well, I’d still be shopping him pretty hard.

12:13
Comment From pair-a-dice
I just overpaid for joc pederson. Tell me it will be ok.

12:13
Eno Sarris: Ethier might be toast.

12:13
Comment From Bobby Blownilla
Am I crazy to like Pompey more than the Cuban guys in a keep forever dynasty OBP league draft? Thoughts on Pompey?

12:14
Eno Sarris: More than Tomas? Crazy like a fox. More than Castillo? Gets dicier, but I’m all over Pompey too.

12:14
Comment From Bobby Blownilla
Prefer Gyorko or Schoop and why?

12:14
Eno Sarris: Gyorko. Demonstrated power and patience in the big leagues. Just needs to bounce back.

12:14
Comment From Art Vandelay
Who moves first? Shields, Scherzer, or Hamels?

12:14
Eno Sarris: In that order. Scherzer trying to make a team get desperate.

12:15
Comment From Tommy
For 2015, how would you rate your optimism for Pederson, Tomas, and Arcia?

12:15
Eno Sarris: Pretty good, pessimistic (I think he could be Viciedo), intrigued.

12:15
Comment From j Smi
What are your thoughts on Strasburg this year? Top 5 fantasy starter?

12:15
Eno Sarris: Yes. Gotta bet on those strikeouts and walks. Great stuff, not totally dependent on velocity.

12:16
Comment From Curtis
Should throwing to first to hold a runner in any way affect pitch count? What if you do it say 20+ times?

12:16
Eno Sarris: Is it max effort? No break on the pitch. I’d say that’s probably something like 10 fastballs. And if you do a pitch count, I think it’s probably good to count fastballs and other pitches separately.

12:16
Comment From Aaron
I’m obsessed with the idea that the Cubs should trade for Carlos Gomez. They have the pieces to get it done, but do you think the Brewers think they can contend as currently constructed?

12:17
Eno Sarris: The Brewers try to win every season, I don’t think they are into a full rebuild. Then again, they have some holes in places that the Cubs could fill. Problem is: Brewers might like pitching most.

12:17
Comment From Guest
More ballpark reviews on tap for beergraphs this season? Love ’em.

12:17
Eno Sarris: I really wanted to put them together in a book. I just need two more Enos.

12:17
Comment From Art Vandelay
Am I a fool to be so excited to own Stroman after yesterday’s article? Images of a pint-sized Roy Halladay are dancing through my brain.

12:18
Eno Sarris: I love him. He kills in Arsenal Score too. Maybe some doubt long term, but I’m talking really long term. Like, can his velocity hold up for longer than five years kind of thing.

12:18
Comment From Dino
Help me make my first round pick, please! Encarnacion or Bautista?

12:18
Eno Sarris: Edwin.

12:18
Comment From pair-a-dice
you expect ackley to continue this improvements from last yr?

12:18
Eno Sarris: Maybe retain, I don’t see much growth left.

12:19
Comment From MASN Profiteer
Hey Eno! Arrietta or Smyly in a keeper, and how big is the difference between the two? Also just moved to Germany. I live in the NRW, but need to see the rest of the country in short order. What are your top three German cities to visit, and what beers/breweries are a must?

12:20
Eno Sarris: I think they comparable. let me check the mock. I took Smyly 141 (a lot of Steamer pickers in the draft, and I have no idea why Steamer has Smyly so low in IP) and Arrieta 116. I’d put them closer together, but yeah, with NL, and the bigger arsenal, I’ll take Arrieta by a nose.

12:21
Eno Sarris: As for Germany, I plead ignorance on current beer scene. I know there’s a great beer bar in Bamberg (Abseits), I love Koestritzer Schwarzbier, and Pinkus Organic Ur-Pils. Don’t like Rauchbier. That might be all I got, except just go to Berlin because Berlin. My friend runs Redwood Bar in Berlin. Tell him I sent you.

12:21
Comment From klof
eno, when you’re in the habit of only drinking fantastic beers, do you find yourself starting to rate really good beers in the 3 or 3.5 star range just to give yourself more room for differentiation in scoring for truely excellent beers? is this stupid?

12:22
Eno Sarris: I am starting to do that, and when I go back and look at old rated beers, almost always revise down. That’s why the five star scale sucks. I want ten stars with half stars. That’s why BAR doesn’t have a ceiling.

12:22
Comment From Is Matz better than Thor?
Is Matz better than Thor

12:23
Eno Sarris: More people are coming around to this, but I’ll still keep Thor ahead. My reasoning is that Thor’s curve suffered in Vegas altitude, but his change improved. That’s three possibly plus pitches, while Matz is more two and let’s see about the third.

12:23
Comment From Joe
I (somewhat sadly) live in Utah now, which has some surprisingly decent beer. Do you have a favorite?

12:23
Eno Sarris: Uinta? It’s true, for a state that has onerous beer laws, they make good beer.

12:23
Comment From Curtis
When and why did 100 pitches become a magic number? do the warmup pitches between innings factor into that? (I know they’re not “counted” in pitch count but do they figure in?

12:24
Eno Sarris: I think it probably had something to do with Rany’s work on Pitcher Abuse Points, which found that pitches past 100 (and really I think it was higher) were more stressful.

12:24
Comment From MASN Profiteer
Am I crazy to be super down on Kemp next season? In my keeper (12 teams, 12 keepers) I’m thinking I might try to overpay, something like Kemp and Kipnis for Altuve. I’ve already got Stanton and Carlos Gonzalez in the OF, and moving two keepers for one would let me keep someone else like Betances or Gausman. Am I nuts?

12:25
Eno Sarris: Not nuts at all. Even with batting average regression, Altuve is 24, and there’s no reason to push his stolen base total down too much just yet. Kemp going to a bad park, even with his up the middle approach, I could see it hurting him. If the team isn’t great, will he Derek Bell it?

12:25
Comment From John Stamos
“Be here shortly” – that’s heightism, man.

12:25
Comment From Caveman from 2005
I know Bobby Crosby just won Rookie of the year. but will Omar Quintinilla force the A’s to move him?

12:26
Eno Sarris: Come on guys. couldn’t even complete a full interlude.

12:26
Comment From GSon
So.. do the Stros have enough catchers or do they screw with the Cubs and make more light hitting poor pitch framing back stop available for trade?

12:27
Eno Sarris: Well Gattis is not really a catcher IMO, and the A’s were all about this last year…

12:28
Comment From Nelson
Any very low profile middle relievers I can draft very late that may put up Ken Giles/Betances type numbers in 2015?

12:30
Eno Sarris: Scanning the RP depth charts: Ottavino, Frieri, Tazawa, Motte, Fields, Scheppers, Thornburg, Kelley.

12:30
Comment From Migs
If you were the Yankees, would you offer Mighty Max 150 mill for 5 years, perhaps with a 200 inning vesting option for a 6th year at 25 million? Would Boras consider this deal? Would the Yankees?

12:30
Eno Sarris: I would like a shorter, higher AAV contract with him, too, but it’s all just money in the end. In that, however you spread it, still $150m.

12:30
Comment From BiggieSixFries
How do you think the Astros will deploy Gattis? Does he get 10 games at catcher? Or some combo 1b/dh/of?

12:31
Eno Sarris: More likely non catcher since Conger and Castro both better catchers. Hoping for an injury to get him behind the plate ten times.

12:31
Comment From Nolan
Are you bullish on Bogearts or is he over-hyped?

12:31
Eno Sarris: I like him. To do what he did at his age in his debut is impressive. I’ll take the over on his projection.

12:31
Comment From Guest
Thoughts on the pitch clock? Seems there are a ton of things they could do before it gets to that point, right?

12:32
Eno Sarris: Like just enforce the existing rule about how long pitchers and batters get?

12:32
Comment From mtsw
Should IFFB% be incorporated into FIP? It seems mostly independent of fielding (since they’re converted to outs 99%+ of the time) and certain pitchers seem to be able to reliably generate them more than average.

12:32
Eno Sarris: Better year to year correlation that HRs, which are in FIP. Problem is, nobody is changing FIP. It is what it is. But we can change WAR, and we put pop ups in WAR.

12:33
Comment From Guest
I can’t believe how late Homer Bailey is getting drafted. Should I be concerned about his injured 2014 season?

12:33
Eno Sarris: Injury projects into injury. But since he’s falling so far, he’s worth a shot. Still had good velocity when he was in there.

12:33
Comment From Los
Would you rather have two $30 players or one $59 player and one $1 player. If you are not indifferent between the two, aren’t your values inherently wrong?

12:34
Eno Sarris: There’s a suggestion that your risk profile is different in each case.

12:34
Comment From Sir Nerdlington
TV money (and rev sharing) has flooded the ecosystem such that the upshot of a post-season appearance carries far less financial meaning. The current SABR-mantra is pay for mediocrity and hope the error bar gods smile upon you. This seems like a statistical de-evolution. The Royals WS appearance was estimated at $10M while the cost of a win is $7 and nowhere near enough to justify pushing your error bars up 1.2% (assuming 81 wins). I don’t like it. No question unless you want to speculate on how we make a post-season appearance more lucrative to justify the in-season expense.

12:35
Eno Sarris: How about make the wild card game a three-game series, or a five-game series? Wouldn’t that make more money in the postseason, stakes raised? Can achieve this in the schedule by cutting a week of spring training.

12:35
Comment From Jason
Would you draft Kang? If so, what round?

12:36
Eno Sarris: I drafted Kang. 19.220. I’m very hopeful. Talked to a talent evaluator about him and really like him. There’s a piece in FG+ that’s very positive about him too. I think he could .260/20, and I’ll give him more upside than that, especially in power department. Only problem is, I don’t know where he’ll play.

12:36
Comment From Fanthead
I don’t drink but am always looking for cheap, good arms. Do you see good years in store for: Drew Smyly, Rick Porcello, Yu Petit, or Jesse Chavez? Cheers!

12:37
Eno Sarris: I can’t imagine Lincecum beats Petit out, so a qualified yeah for him. I also noticed that Petit’s third time through the order is worse than most pitchers, probably because hitters start picking up on the deception. So I’d rather have Smyly of the bunch. Porcello second, though I’m not sure where his K% upside is.

12:37
Comment From Guy
Eno, I’m also very confident in your ability to identify sleeper pitchers. Care to call out a few of your breakout candidates?

12:40
Eno Sarris: Paxton, Greene, Salazar, Hahn, Wood, Bauer, Hutchison, Chase Anderson in mixed leagues. I’ll take a flier on D Norris, Elias, Allen Webster, Dan Straily, Joe Kelly in deeper leagues. David Hale, Robbie Erlin.

12:40
Comment From Teddy Westside
Eno I want to start brewing beer. Any website suggestions to help get me started? Or any suggestions at all?

12:41
Eno Sarris: Start with the packets, graduate to all-grain. Man I forget the website though.

12:42
Comment From Ethan
Agree that Soler is the #1 MLB prospect for 2015 based on potential impact?

12:42
Eno Sarris: yeah I kinda like that. Love him to death.

12:42
Comment From Dog Owner
My dog loves beer. When she was a puppy right after we got her we had a party, and she spent the night going around knocking over beer bottles and lapping up the mess. Not sure if it was good for her, but she loved it. The internet hive-mind is mixed on dogs and beer because hops might be bad? Are hops in EVERY kind of beer? And you’re a beer expert–can I give my dog a little beer to calm her down when there’s fireworks or something?

12:42
Comment From jocephus
would draft kodos before or after kang?

12:42
Comment From His Ludeness
Or El Luderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.

Is the sudden popularity of DraftKings/FanDuel-style fantasy gambling good for baseball? Is it good for fantasy baseball?

12:45
Eno Sarris: It’s more money for an industry that needs to pay its writers better lol, so I’ll take it. I also have no problem with gambling. To me, restraint is a virtue, addiction is a vice, and these battle grounds we’ve set up — be they drugs, gambling, sex — are all irrelevant to the central issue at hand. Can you handle yourself?

12:45
Comment From JThePuck
what kind of performance do you expect from Phil Hughes this season?

12:45
Eno Sarris: More walks, maybe a few more homers allowed. Not quite Yankee Stadium Hughes, but not Record Breaking Hughes either.

12:46
Comment From ThePuck
Don’t you wish you could trade with Dave Stewart? 🙂

12:46
Eno Sarris: Hah but my team wouldn’t be a real baseball team.

12:46
Comment From pair-a-dice
choo bounce back yr? he’s done with 20/20, right?

12:46
Eno Sarris: Actually, saw some nice things even in a bad year for Choo’s power, so I think he could hit 20. Steal 20? yeah, no.

12:47
Comment From Jared
More PA’s in Boston this year – Rusney or Mookie?

12:47
Eno Sarris: Rusney, I guess. But I think they’ll both be near full time players, and I’ll put Rusney’s floor below Mookie’s.

12:47
Comment From Art Vandelay
Isn’t it a little surprising a highly paid player like Cano is playing in the Dominican League?

12:47
Eno Sarris: Surprising and awesome.

12:47
Comment From Art Vandelay
3:30 PM PST to watch him today.

12:47
Eno Sarris: sweet

12:48
Comment From Compton
Any chance the A’s use Clippard to close this season, pump his value, and then extend him a QO next offseason with the hopes he declines? Just a thought.

12:48
Eno Sarris: A chance, but I’ve heard from people within front offices that they don’t want to meddle with the manager’s use of the bullpen too much. Mostly, teams want to win this year.

12:48
Comment From Jeremy
Oh man, just had Alpine Nelson, yeesh that beer is good!

12:49
Eno Sarris: Just going to leave that there.

12:49
Comment From Munchkin
What should I drink in Japan? Besides a Hibiki 17, for relaxing times …

12:49
Eno Sarris: A nice dry sake with some salt on the corner of the wooden box.

12:49
Comment From jack
out of this group who do you look to trade: Freeman, Altuve, Betts, Longoria, Tulo, Braun, Cespedes, Sale, Greinke, Gray?

12:49
Eno Sarris: Gray.

12:49
Comment From John Stamos
When you are having fun, do you ever stop and say to yourself, “I am having fun!”?

12:49
Eno Sarris: At the ballpark. On the field. Talking to a player.

12:49
Comment From Pliny Dust
I will be trying PseudoSue this weekend, ever have it?

12:50
Eno Sarris: Only a top three beer for me.

12:50

When applying for any baseball/sports writing job (not necessarily the Fangraphs opening) what advice would you give to someone who currently holds a job in a different field?

12:50
Eno Sarris: Write at night so that they can see your dedication and reliability. No hiring editor wants to see three posts over the span of a month.

12:51
Comment From Compton
Eno! Just wanted to give a heads up that the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season premiere last night centered around breaking Wade Boggs’ beers-in-one-flight record. Beer, baseball, and legendary records: could there possibly be a better premise for an episode?

12:51
Eno Sarris: Oh man I missed that was back on. I don’t always love that show but I’ll watch that episode for sure.

12:51
Comment From Tom
Marcus Semien was a bad MLB 2B last year. He was a bad MLB hitter last year. He’s been a marginal hitter anywhere he’s played except the bandboxes in Charlotte, Birmingham and the Cell (.858/.725 H/A in 2014, 1.013/.705 H/A in 2013). What am I missing about this guy? Is he funny or something?

12:52
Eno Sarris: Plus walk rates at every stop, and I’ll take the eye test over one-year defensive numbers. Saw him play short in Arizona and came away impressed.

12:52
Comment From Nelson
Is his the type of injury that can lead Werth to underperform?

12:53
Eno Sarris: More worrisome for pitchers, but yeah, for your hitters, you’d rather they had groin/hammy injuries than wrist/shoulder.

12:53
Comment From SB
Keep Two (triple slash league): Posey / Donaldson / Dickerson / Yelich / Brantley / Desmond / Darvish

12:55
Eno Sarris: wow. Wow. Well, Desmond gets hurt in triple slash and not keeping a pitcher out of this group. I like Yelich, but up against these guys… Donaldson probably the number one third baseman. Posey the number one catcher. As much as I like Dickerson and Brantley…. Posey, with his spray approach, good batting average, and doubles along with the homers, is a great triple-slash catcher. I think I keep him and Donaldson.

12:55
Comment From Jeremy
Number 1 pick in dynasty new player draft, competing now with a pretty strong team. Should Moncada sign who should I take first: Moncada, Tomas, or Castillo? Thanks Eno!~

12:56
Eno Sarris: Upside Moncada… Castillo ………………..Tomas
Win now Castillo………. Moncada ……..Tomas

12:56
Comment From Art Vandelay
re: beer rating, do you have a baseline for each style in your mind? For instance, say Sierra Nevada is a solid 2.5 pale ale, and grade accordingly?

12:56
Eno Sarris: That’s what we do at BeerGraphs, that’s what I sorta do in my mind.

12:56
Comment From MSB
What sort of package would you be looking for to cash in on Miggy in a forever dynasty league? At some point he’s got to be cashed in and it’s probably better a year early than a year late. By the way, the league has no minor league player system.

12:58
Eno Sarris: Has to be major league youth then. Ideally right now it’d be something like Rizzo plus maybe a great young pitcher? Or a worse first baseman… let’s say a Hosmer, but then a young middle infielder and a pitcher too.

12:58
Comment From klof
does taijuan walker have a place in the M’s rotation? fangraphs depth charts have him 6th.

12:58
Eno Sarris: Every sixth starter is relevant at some point, just maybe not on fantasy draft day.

12:59
Comment From Ryguy
Better prospect keeper….sano or gallo, eno….thank you-o

1:00
Eno Sarris: they got picked 8/9 (Sano first) in the first round of the Baseball Prospectus farm draft I’m in. I’ll take Sano first, too. Slightly better K%, slightly better chance at staying at third, though the TJS is a bit worrisome.

1:00
Comment From Miketron
Can Kyle Gibson improve enough against lefties to become mixed league relevant?

1:00
Eno Sarris: yes, I like his change actually.

1:00
Comment From Nelson
What is an Flanders red?

1:00
Eno Sarris: Basically a sour. A tart beer.

1:00
Comment From Colby
I had Miggy in a sim league and traded him for Shelby Miller, Brad Miller, Tyrone Taylor, and Kyle Smith. Had Rizzo already

1:01
Comment From Fun Fungible Fungi
Eno! I didn’t care for the HOF vote this year, but instead of persuading others through vigorous eloquent argumentation, I’d rather just change the rules — or change the voters themselves. Am I a lazy self-absorbed jerk, or am I the new normal?

1:01
Eno Sarris: Does vigorous eloquent argumentation ever work?

1:01
Comment From Guest
Has Des Jennings peaked? I wanna cut him dont think hes worth $12 in 4×4 no steals

1:01
Eno Sarris: Yeah this is who he is.

1:01
Comment From Party Dog
Heady Topper (VT – IPA). Thoughts?

1:02
Eno Sarris: Bitter hop bomb, but one of the best of its kind. Not my number one, but BeerGraphs number one.

1:02
Comment From Optimetstic
Will the Mets bat Lagares leadoff? I personally think David Wright is the Mets best fit for leadoff out of what they have.

1:02
Eno Sarris: yeah I’d rather have one of the best defensive center fielders hit 8th or so. he’s not a great bat.

1:02
Comment From MASN Profiteer
Seager or Lindor?

1:02
Eno Sarris: Seager. Like the bat better, think he can stick at short.

1:02
Eno Sarris: (at least short term)

1:02
Comment From Minnesota Twinkie
Haven’t heard much about Alex Meyer recently. What’s the latest word in terms of his 2015 impact? Is he still considered a high-ceiling prospect?

1:03
Eno Sarris: Man people talking reliever but I just don’t get it. I see enough in his arsenal, I still like him. I’ll take him off people’s hands if they don’t believe. Stock down, but opportunity looms.

What are your thoughts on Brew Dogs…I find myself mildly entertained…but then again its a show about beer so yeah….

1:03
Eno Sarris: Mildly entertained but not sure I really want all those beers, they’re so weird, the ones they make on the show.

Do you have a beer gut?

1:04
Eno Sarris: I probably have five pounds I could lose that I own because I drink beers on the weekends. But at 6’2″ 185, I feel okay. Led the fast break plenty enough yesterday (didn’t always finish, but that’s a different story).

We love wheat beer in Germany. We FREAKING LOVE IT. Even those of us who don’t wear lederhosen or play the accordian. Do you agree that it’s freaking delicious?

1:05
Eno Sarris: Give me a dark unfiltered wheat beer, sure.

Who will be better next season? Kemp or Choo?

1:06
Eno Sarris: OOh love this. Choo. Steamer picks choo, and might be underrating his power.

Comment From Buck Showalter
Bud Norris is slowly creeping into more and more 2015 sleeper lists. Do you agree with that assessment?

1:06
Eno Sarris: Eh. I bought him last year in AL-Labr for cheap innings, but I don’t see any upside there. Mostly health-related downside.

1:06
Comment From Bench
The more I read up on him, the more I get excited about Eovaldi in 2015. Am I wrong to feel that way? What do you expect from him this year?

1:07
Eno Sarris: I think he should ditch the change and go 4s/SL/CB, has enough Garret Richards in him, but not the same home park. I’m cautiously optimistic and would rate him an okay mixed league bench pick.

Eno Sarris: the truest truth

What rank do you think we would see Yasmany Tomas in a top prospects list?

1:09
Eno Sarris: not a great one for me. I’d take Josh Hamilton over him.

Is Polanco a post-hype sleeper yet? Do you still like him?

1:09
Eno Sarris: Yup! I think his debut was pretty good.

Comment From Gila Monster
I began to get excited for Wheeler and Drew Pomeranz…Can they get away with not having a change, but a good curveball?

1:10
Eno Sarris: Curveballs have reverse platoon splits, so yes. But I think you need a breaker, so I’ll take Wheeler over Pomeranz.

have the cubs avoided getting an impact bat for the OF because they foresee bryant ending up out there?

1:10
Eno Sarris: Yeah I could see this.

What is your #1 IPA?

1:10
Eno Sarris: Probably Alpine Nelson.

Will Jose Peraza be able to hit well enough in MLB to allow his speed on the bases to be an asset?

1:11
Eno Sarris: I’m not so sure of this, so I’m not buying many shares.

Comment From El Guapo
Is Felix Hernandez the safest ace?

1:11
Eno Sarris: Until he’s not.

1:11
Eno Sarris: I hate that answer, but what can you do.

1:12
Comment From Thrust Monster
Just heard Christopher Russo describe Oakland and revolving door fools and that Clippard as one of the most overrated RP in MLB. I am not sure how you respond to that, but it made me upset.

1:12
Eno Sarris: See, I’m not pro Athletics, I’m anti Chris Russo.

who is the baseball equivalent of almanac’s tequila noir?

1:13
Eno Sarris: When every stout is bourbon barrel aged, the tequila noir stands out. When every catcher is a slugger with patience, Jason Kendall stands out.

Comment From DDSP
Considering his velocity and control, what do you think is the possibility of a Garret Richards-esque spike in Henderson Alvarez’s k/9 next year?

1:13
Eno Sarris: I just don’t think Hendo’s non-fastballs are very good.

1:13
Comment From El Guapo
Yordano Ventura or Carlos Carrasco?

1:13
Eno Sarris: Carrasco. Love his non-fastballs.

Do you ever miss the 9-5 office environment?

Eno Sarris: Hey guys. I know this is a little short, but I have a phone call from All About Beer about BeerGraphs. Gotta take this one. Love and kisses.
