Eno Sarris Baseball Chat — 1/7/16

11:04
Eno Sarris: Why’d I eat that third pork chop?

11:09
Eno Sarris:

12:00
Bork: IT’S AN ENO DAY YES IT IS.

12:00
Eno Sarris: I appreciate your energy as I am coming off a long discussion about headless boob bobbleheads that has exhausted me.

12:01
tim: Where is upton going to sign?

12:01
Eno Sarris: I suppose he’s everyone’s backup plan, which is weird because I’d take him over Cespedes.

12:01
Brad: Is Adam Conley a legit mixed league guy? Slightly average fastball with above average change and slider it looks like

12:02
Eno Sarris: wait a second. that’s impressive. 17% whiffs on the change, 16% whiffs on the slider, 8.7% on the four-seam…

12:02
Eno Sarris: too many homers on the change so far. not a bad sleeper, dude.

12:03
Brad: What do you make of Brandon Mauer having an uber-elite batted ball velocity against of 84.09 mph?

12:04
Eno Sarris: He also had the highest spin rate on the curve and is bringing it back. And is in mix for rotation. But he’s burned us so many times, I’ll call him a deep league dollar guy at best. Maybe more if it sounds like they pimping him for closer.

12:04
Bork: It’s a good thing the D’Backs are holding onto that last pick instead of going for it this year. Will really ensure their teams future success instead of going for it this year.

12:05
Eno Sarris: But they could trade that player right away like they have the last two!

12:05
hscer: Did the third pork chop make you sick or fat or both?

12:05
Eno Sarris: fat and then I couldn’t sleep because maybe too much protein

12:05
Brad: How much do you trust John Lamb’s per pitch data? Smallish sample size but 15% whiffs on the cutter, 22% whiffs on the change, and 19% whiffs on the curve seems pretty impressive

12:06
Eno Sarris: Actually I really like him. Doesn’t have great velocity, but he’s in the right league now to hide that fastball, and anyway the fastball has great rise. Give me a piece of Lamb in any league.

12:06
Justin: Is Piazza’s election to the Hall a sign that perhaps the rest of the steroid-clouded players stand a chance?

12:08
Eno Sarris: He literally said, of himself and other players under the cloud, that baseball has made mistakes, people have made mistakes, baseball has healed, and it’s time to move on with positivity. What a weird answer! Non-answer. In any case, I do hear more analysts talking about just lumping them all together and calling it the steroid era and acting accordingly, so I do think at least Bonds and Clemens will be in and it will be a super uncomfortable time full of Hot Takery and BS but they should be in.

12:08
Art Vandelay: Because porkchops are extremely underrated (and surprisingly cheap!)

12:08
Eno Sarris: Oh man I love them.

12:08
Maxamuz: I have been gone to long I feel. This new chat is different.

12:08
Eno Sarris: YOU CAN STILL GIF

12:08
RotoLando: Would you invest in Marcel Ozuna, Texas Ranger?

12:09
Eno Sarris: Good god yes. He was a top-20 guy in exit velocity, under 25, and has an up the middle approach, cut his k%. I was in on him in Miami, and in SF, and would love love him in Texas.

12:09
Brad: is it crazy to think Billy Hamilton could hit .260 with 70 steals this year?

12:10
Eno Sarris: No. OBP might still be .305 or summat. But the book is not writ on a guy that started switch hitting in the minor leagues. Dex Fowler had fits and starts.

12:10
Fred Bird : Cardinals / Rockies trade still a possibility I suppose, but while everyone knows it’s hard to value Rockies ofs, how do you value Matt Adams?

12:11
Eno Sarris: Yeah, I have one share of Adams that I’m staring a hole into. It’s in an OBP league and fairly worthless if Moss and Piscotty are going to play 1B some, and I think they will. But if he gets traded to Coors… What do you think the chances are? 10%

12:12
Brad: Is it fair to look for some more batting average out of Anthony Rizzo based on his improving K% and Swinging strikes?

12:13
Eno Sarris: It is, but projections have him regressing to his previously established K%, which is the more reasonable way to go. But he’s 26, and he could have that Huge MVP Year any year now.

12:13
Vic: More surprising in 2016 for Buxton….80 runs, 15 HRs, 30 SBs, and a .280 AVG or 40 runs, 5 HRs, 10 SBs and a .230 AVG?

12:13
Eno Sarris: For me, the first one.

12:13
Owen S.: This may be a question better suited for a Dave, but let’s see if you can help: Why do most players have two separate steamer projections? One on their main page, and one listed under their team’s depth chart. Aroldis Chapman, par example, has a 1.4 WAR projection on his player page (65IP) and a 2.2 WAR projection on the 2016 Yankee depth chart (65 IP). Double-You Tee Eff

12:14
Eno Sarris: I believe it has to do with who controls the playing time… wait what? same playing time? Maybe it has to do with putting him at the closer role or not. Depth charts may also have something to do with leverage, if they put him at closer or something.

12:14
Guest: If Brian Eno snuck up behind you and covered your eyes and said “guess who?” How many guesses before you got it right?

12:14
Eno Sarris: one million

12:14
Corey: I wrote a terrible question earlier so I’m going to try again. 12 team league 6 keepers, at least 2 must be pitchers. OBP instead of BA. Keeping; Rizzo, Bryant, Correa, Arrieta, Strasburg. Do I keep Syndergaard or Heyward for my final keeper?

12:15
Eno Sarris: Dang. I really want in on Heyward on a new team with a new hitting coach, but Thor is the madness. I’ll go Thor, though his forearm things in the past are a little scary.

12:15
kris: onzuna for chi chi sounds like a good deal for the marlins, right?

12:15
Eno Sarris: I’m not big on Chi Chi.

12:15
Ceetar: counterpoint:

12:16
Nelson: Even though Im almost 40 I have no real memories of Griffey in his prime, I guess since he was on the west coast. Where does the backwards hat come from? Would he wear it backwards in the OF? I cant imagine hes the only one wearing a backwards hat in BP

12:16
Eno Sarris: Probably from the video games.

12:16
Guest: hey eno i was thinking what would happen if justin upton just decided he wanted to start a new baseball league like why bother with all of this when he could just do irl backyard baseball do you have any thoughts sincerely, larry reynolds

12:16
Eno Sarris: Anti trust probably comes into play somehow here.

12:16
JV: Who is the non closer this year that makes the ascent to elite fantasy closer with opportunity? (yankees not included)

12:16
Eno Sarris: Hmmm. Keone Kela? Arquimedes Caminero

12:17
Eno Sarris: other candidates: Pedro Strop, Ryan Madson. CARTER CAPPS

12:17
Brian: Who is your break out SP this year?

12:18
Eno Sarris: Everyone hopped on the Raisel Iglesias bandwagon so it’s crowded now. I like John Lamb and Anthony Desclafani still. Chris Bassitt. Those are guys are slightly deeper league guys though. I’ll be writing and podcasting about this shortly.

12:18
Harrison: Quick fantasy question. Would you trade Stanton in a points league for either Machado or Arenado. Need help at 3b.

12:19
Eno Sarris: Yes. Machado, I think, though I’d take either. Both first rounders. Stanton also, but back end.

12:19
Bart: What are your expectations for Jorge Soler this season?

12:19
Eno Sarris: I’ll rein it in a bit and call it .260/.320 with 22-25 homers.

12:20
Geust: Is this billboard in the middle of the highway?

12:20
Guest: i wish i had more money

12:20
Guest: i wish i had a pizza and a bottle of wine

12:20
Guest: i wish i had a beach house

12:20
Guest: i wish i was a little bit taller

12:20
Guest: i wish i was a baller

12:20
Swipe right: Pet peeves: one-sided printing, standing on the left of an escalator, unexpected nudity.

12:20
Eno Sarris: That last one came out of nowhere and really made that interlude pop.

12:20
Prince Wednesday: Brewers signing Carter for only $2.5MM seems like a potentially awesome deal w/ potentially 3 years of control. Seems like a good buy low candidate considering the .244 babip last year, no?

12:21
Eno Sarris: Eh, he hits everything in the air, wouldn’t be surprised if his natural BABIP level wasn’t any better than .265-.270.

12:21
Owen S.: What are your thoughts on Ramirez? Better or worse than Cabrera? Obviously neither hold a candle to Rodriguez.

12:21
Eno Sarris: McCullough said he thought he took the biggest offer, and I suspec that’s true.

12:21
Zach: Is Comforto a .300 20 HR guy at peak?

12:21
Eno Sarris: I’ll give him more power.

12:22
Eno Sarris: He has excellent oppo power though, so the batting average is certainly possible.

12:22
Brad: Am I wrong to be a little skeptical of Lucas Giolito’s eliteness? “only” a 10% swinging strike rate in AA by Statcorner last year…big fastball big curveball combo doesn’t seem one that is often Elite

12:22
Eno Sarris: I traded away my share. Ks went down, the change didn’t seem to progress, his team could easily go with high floor over ceiling given their place on the run curve..

12:22
Josh: Why does steamer seem to hate Sonny Gray so much, especially with the WHIP?

12:23
Eno Sarris: Been writing about that. Easy answer is that he’s had a low BABIP so far, but not in a sample big enough to believe it. Hard answer: he may be elite at getting pull grounders and oppo flies, which are good outcomes.

12:23
Prince Wednesday: I whipped up a batch of the honey, dijon, sriracha spread, substituting Texas Pete and it’s awesome too. Recommend trying if you haven’t.

12:23
Eno Sarris: It’s the bees knees.

12:23
Mike: Speaking of Fowler…would he be a fit for the Mets? Can platoon in CF with Lagares or play other OF positions to spell Grandy and Conforto. Or is he just too pricy?

12:24
Eno Sarris: Problem is that his best side is the side Lagares hits from, and his D might not be CF any more. I *also* don’t think they going to spend on him.

12:24
TheRealYohanFlande: Why are the Braves so adamant about holding on to Freeman? Seems like if you’re gonna rebuild, you should just go all in. Also, is the singer Adam Ant a weird pun on the word “adamant” or is that just a coincidence?

12:24
Eno Sarris: I think they think they have him under contract so long and so good that they’ll be good again while he’s still there. Looks like a decent skillset for aging too. and… yes, I’ve had that thought, but I don’t know for sure.

12:25
LarryA: Silino Branchos ZIPS projection was really really nice. Im talking about a 31% K-rate, 6% BB rate. Are we looking at a Betances type year from him?

12:26
Eno Sarris: Super straight fastball, but maybe so straight it’s slightly cut? In any case, yes, I would make the sexy time with his statistics.

12:26
Zizou: Go Forrest, run Forrest run Forrest, go Forrest

12:26
Bork: Duane Underwood. Most redneck name on the prospects list?

12:26
Only pick one: DJ Harvey, Steve Harvey, or Ken Harvey

12:26
RotoLando:

12:26
Eno Sarris: ludes on point today

12:27
DLowe: Hey Eno! What are your expectations for Giles in Houston? Do you think he is a lock to close, and how many saves would you expect him to get, given the quality of the team and rotation? Thanks

12:27
Eno Sarris: Closing. They didn’t trade Vince to worry about Giles’ arbitration money.

12:27
Mark: What are your thoughts on young Rockie OF Dahl and Tapia?

12:28
Eno Sarris: Tapia is so so so weird. In his two-strike counts, he crouches down and becomes an extreme slap hitter. It’s such an obvious tell that I think it will be easy for pitchers to manipulate him. Maybe he can be a slap-hitting D guy with speed, but I’m not spending much to find out. Dahl a little more interesting, and could come up this year, so I’d take a share.

12:29
The Cincinnati Kid: Are Bonds & Clemens on your ballot?

12:29
Eno Sarris: yes.

12:29
Q-Ball: Awhile ago you penned an article basically entitled “The Pirates should think out of the box and sign John Jaso for 1B”. 2 weeks later, the Pirates did exactly that. Did a Pirates intern show Huntington your article? Are you a genius?

12:29
Eno Sarris: I am not a genius, no way. Just went through the same thought process they went through, probably: cheap, left-handed, doesn’t require players to get.

12:29
Eno Sarris: (and has some upside, has been great v LHP)

12:30
Codes: Framing stats should always be described as rate stats right? I get irked when I see framing numbers presented as pitches saved over the course of the year. In my mind I liken this to hits per season. Am I wrong?

12:30
Eno Sarris: Some people really prefer counting stats. I don’t get it.

12:30
What if……: ……you had your own hour long regular show on the MLB Network, what would be the theme of your show? Who would you want as your co-host/sidekick?

12:31
Eno Sarris: I’d have fun doing pitching and hitting with Farnsworth, or maybe just making it all about pitching with Sporer.

12:31
Johnny5Alive: Eno! Today I am tuning in from Discovery Bay Jamaica! Also, the mets. How much money should I wager that they don’t even make the playoffs this season? I am thinking a lot

12:32
Eno Sarris: YES! Auto post. Also: jealousy. No, I don’t think so. A full year of Conforto and Matz will undo some of their cheap offseason. Projected to be sixth in baseball this year and have just enough youth on the roster to think they could do better.

12:32
planalp: When will your SP ranks drop?

12:33
Eno Sarris: We starting to talk SP on the podcast today, and I’ll be working on them as I edit the player caps!

12:33
hscer: Red Alert: Mike Rizzo called Dan Murphy “gritty” twitter.com/federalbaseball/status/685148260948938752

12:33
Eno Sarris: GRIT ALERT

12:33
Bruce: Whats your love affair with Caminero? Guys just so-so and already 30. Just get a room already

12:33
Eno Sarris: We did.

12:33
Maxamuz: like this?

12:33
Eno Sarris: yes.

12:33
Guest: Just read your twitter mentions and ugh

12:33
Eno Sarris: I have put some distance in between me and them and feel better.

12:34
Big Joe Mufferaw: Do you think it makes more sense that the Yankees use one of their 3 elite BP arms as a “Fireman” of sorts (putting out fires that the SPer or another RP created regardless of the inning) and the other 2 as the 8th and 9th inning? instead of the traditional 7th-8th and 9th inning roles?

12:34
Eno Sarris: They are totally made for this.

12:34
Guest: My fav (worst) mention in your TL: MEN LIKE BASEBALL AND MEN LIKE BEWBZ SO WHO CARES

12:34
Eno Sarris: Literally could have tweeted a shrug emoticon at me.

12:34
Cory S.: Does one have to have an interesting last name to write for Fangraphs?

12:35
Eno Sarris: My name’s not that interesting. Well, the first three names of four are, but not the last one. That’s just Greek. Never heard of Andrew Sarris?

12:35
Gordy: If Marlins are willing to trade Ozuna for Chi Chi, why not trade him to the mets for Wheeler or Montero+

12:35
Eno Sarris: We don’t know the Mets made that offer.

12:35
Justin: What do you make of a guy like Pederson who apparently has good strike zone recognition per BB%, but whiffs all the time? Poor swing mechanics?

12:36
Eno Sarris: I’d guess pitch recognition rather than location recognition more of the problem, but it could be the swing. It’s a little weird. I still like him.

12:36
Maxamuz: This chat is missing some Duda.

12:36
Eno Sarris: Phew. Oh, and music. How about this, dedicated to this morning’s twitter.

12:36
Eno Sarris:

12:37
Derek: Are you a fan of Silversun Pickups? Going to see them tomorrow and I’m super geeked. How confident on 1-10 are you that Giancarlo Stanton stays healthy for 150 games and makes that mid first round pick worth it?

12:37
Eno Sarris: Saw them recently, and like them, but then someone said that they were just a new Smashing Pumpkins and I was all like damn. I’ll give Stanton a 7.

12:38
Lawrence: Where do you think Conforto should be in the 2016 lineup? Ahead of Duda right? I’d love to see EVERYONE bat before Duda, including Asdrubal Cabrera/Wilmer Flores…..agree?

12:38
Eno Sarris: No, not those jabronis. I’ll put Conforto against Duda because he’s a more complete hitter, but Duda pretty awesome cleanup guy.

12:38
Phil: You all about the Grapefruit Sculpin? It’s got a ridiculous BA and beergraphs rating and all my Untappd friends like it too. I just had it yesterday on draft for the first time… and man did I not dig it. Tasted like rather bitter grapefruit juice sat in the fridge for a year. Maybe I had a bad batch or keg? Maybe the most disappointing beer experience of my life given the hype and that I adore regular Sculpin.

12:39
Eno Sarris: To me it tastes like a Shandy, too sweet, dunno if that fits your description. I have it sometimes, but I don’t prefer it.

12:39
jtt: Are Coors park effects too harsh on non-power hitters? Dexter fowler and juan pierre posted similar numbers after they got traded but their wRC jumped like 40 points

12:40
Eno Sarris: There’s definitely something there. I don’t blame the park factor structure, Coors might just be that much of an outlier. Also, there’s evidence that Coors has a hangover effect on hitters, that they hit worse on the road than they ‘should’, which also probably hurts the park factors.

12:40
Hoff: I’m debating about FG+ for my go to fantasy source this year. Say something to put me over the top!

12:40
Eno Sarris: There will be no FG+. We are beefing up the FREE draft kit here, and all the player caps will be FREE on every page and totally roto-specific, and we’ll probably be having a FREE week of fantasy research on THT.

12:41
Randy: Do you see Odor hitting 20HR this season?

12:41
Eno Sarris: yes

12:41
The Cincinnati Kid: Does Benintendi see Boston this season? Do you think Boston keeps him long-term or could he be gone at the deadline? Could he peak at 25-25 with a .385 OBP? I’m drooling

12:41
Eno Sarris: too early

12:41
Andrellinis Millancesman: I play in a league deep enough that AJ Pierzynski was amongst one team’s 12 MLB keepers

12:41
Eno Sarris: Wow. That might be deeper than my 20-team 28-keeper league where you can own anyone, anywhere.

12:42
Andrellinis Millancesman: If you ran the HOF and had the unilateral authority to do so would you rescind voting rights for the 3 who left Griffey off the ballot?

12:42
Eno Sarris: No. Not how voting works, IMO.

12:42
GSon: When will the Cubs give up this ruse regarding Schwarber being able to play a defensive position? Are you on the same page as them?

12:42
Eno Sarris: I’ll take another year of evidence, maybe with some work at catcher thrown in.

12:43
Marty: Have you watched Silicon Valley? Highly recommend.

12:43
Eno Sarris: I enjoy it.

12:43
Joeong: omg someone mentioned Silvino Bracho?!??! Is he a keeper? Trying to decide between him and Tony Zych and some other scraps

12:43
Eno Sarris: With Hudson in Arizona, I go with Zych. He could be closer to closing.

12:43
Drew: Why would the Marlins trade a plus power (potential) guy for an above average fb starter? Just seems like power is a premium and they have time to wait.

12:44
Eno Sarris: I don’t think they would if they thought his power was plus. They sour on guys.

12:44
Guest: I am grateful this chat interface does not say “says” — really opens up a lot of possibilities.

12:44
Eno Sarris: Patiently waiting for a new topic on twitter.

12:44
Bork: As someone who works in an office that guy who hates one sided printing is my arch nemesis. Double sided printing is a plague.

12:44
The Cincinnati Kid: All of us two weeks without an Eno Chat…

12:44
Bruce: Another True Story, I only realized after someone told me in 2015! that sometimes Nivana guitarist Pat Smear’s name is a pun on the female gynocological exam.

12:44
Nuke Laloosh’s left eyelid: awww yea its the main man ENOOOO!!! GET THE ‘LUDES!!!!

12:44
Eno Sarris: you welcome, or thanks

12:45
Drew: I listed Desclafani and Raisel as good dfs plays because of the “stuff” community research. Should I be using that list? I think it’s a good way to find value and lots of Ks

12:45
Eno Sarris: Yeah I like what they doing, although I’m going to try and go deeper soon.

12:45
Bracho Cheez: Bracho’s swstrk (15%) on the fastball is so weird, especially considering it’s 93. How can that be a fastball? That’s Mariano elite.

12:46
Eno Sarris: The x value on that is so far divergent from average (almost four inches ‘straighter’) that I bet it acts like a cut fastball. And a cut fastball at 93 is actually pretty sexy.

12:46
Nelson: not who shoud, but who wil get the first chance at saves in CIN? Hoover, Diaz, other?

12:46
Eno Sarris: Hoover will, but I bet on Diaz longer term. Wish he wasn’t so old though.

12:46
CAM: So who is the PED cutoff player? The guy the voters draw a line at and simply won’t vote for?

12:46
Eno Sarris: Sammy Sosa?

12:47
Pat: Don’t you think Vincent Velazquez should be getting more love in the NL? Great buy as the last pitcher on your staff?

12:47
Eno Sarris: Yes he’s on my list. All the movement and velocity numbers line up.

12:48
Scott: Ketel Marte o/u 30sbs?

12:48
Eno Sarris: Safer to go under because his OBP likely to crash.

12:48
Jimmy: If I recall, you had cautioned that Matz might be a lefty Andrew Cashner – high velo but not great movement, avg to above avg overall – still the case?

12:49
Eno Sarris: I’d call it something I’m nervous about rather than projecting. The change has two inches of drop and 10 mph of difference.. if he trusts it, then he’s ace-level.

12:49
Drew: How tf does Clemens get more votes than Bonds? I’m angry about this. They are both highly connected to PEDs so if you’re not voting for one because of that, then how can you vote for the other?

12:49
Eno Sarris: yeah bit of an elephant in the room on that one.

12:49
Guest: Sullivan, Edwards, and Cameron are pretty boring names. Farnsworth is AAAA, but Sarris, Fagerstrom, and Cistulli = MVPs

12:50
Eno Sarris: Farnsworth, with a weirder first name: History Professor.

12:50
mtsw: Most TV football commentators seemed outraged at the mere suggestion Peyton Manning could’ve used PEDs, despite the suggestive evidence. Is there any baseball player who would provoke a similar reaction if accused?

12:50
Eno Sarris: Derek Jeter.

12:50
Nuke Laloosh’s left eyelid: blonde redhead?? eno you sensitive majestic mermaid!

12:50
Eno Sarris: To the fainting couch!

12:50
fishfan420: Christian Yelich o/u 40 HR+SBs

12:50
Eno Sarris: under. really needs to hit the ball in the air.

12:51
Art Vandelay: I was talking with another guy in my redraft league over the holiday about where Correa is going to be drafted. I’m honestly of the mindset he could be a back-end first rounder based on positional value, while my friend said he wouldn’t take him until the third or later. Thoughts?

12:52
Eno Sarris: First rounder. Check out Dan Schwartz rankings which don’t use scarcity at all: http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/2016-fantasy-baseball-sleepers-contd-and-ending-the-position-scarcity-argument/

12:52
Eno Sarris: Correa sixth by projections.

12:52
Nuke Laloosh’s left eyelid: how good do you think maikel franco can be? he’s shown some nice contact skills with plus power, does he profile like a mini beltre to you?

12:52
Eno Sarris: Yes.

12:52
Hambino: Hey Eno! What do you think about Nomar Mazara? I have a hard time separating baseball prospects from fantasy baseball prospects.

12:53
Eno Sarris: I’ve been staring a hole into his page, even checked with some people in the game. I think he’s a really good prospect, but more top 25 than top 10. Especially in fantasy, since he won’t steal many bases and doesn’t have big power. Betting on batting average is super scary.

12:53
Uncle Philz: dude. Jerad Eickhoff. Pretty damn good last couple months of last year. so-so velo but elite slider if you look at the swstrk. Expectations?

12:54
Eno Sarris: On the list because the fastball rises well and gets lots of pop pups. And the change has been good in small sample. I’ll probably rank him 60-70 or so. Definitely a mixed leaguer.

12:54
Maxamuz: No FG+!?

12:54
Eno Sarris: All the stuff will be there, you just won’t have to pay for it.

12:55
strongly worded letter: Can SWSTRK%+ please be a stat added to players’ Pitch F/x pages? It would help so much when wanting to compare to league average

12:55
Eno Sarris: Good idea.

12:55
Moment of Honest: I would have left Griffey off and voted for someone who could have used my vote more.

12:55
Eno Sarris: And I doubt we should get the pitchforks out for that.

12:55
MP: What do you see out of Jesse Winker this year? Will he but starting full time after super 2?

12:56
Eno Sarris: Up after July probably, yes. Better OBP than BA probably. Might take a second to get the power going.

12:56
Drew: Top 20 exit velocity seems like plus to me. Where can I find an exit velo list?

12:56
Eno Sarris: BaseballSavant

12:56
Swipe left: Unexpected ludity.

12:56
Andrellinis Millancesman: down with double sided print guy!

12:57
BREAKING: Mariners Release Anthony Bass To Pursue Opportunity In Japan. Big if true

12:57
Eno Sarris: we can do better

12:57
Guest: McGwire < Sosa imo; at least the latter played OF and showed athleticism early in his career, Big Mac was entirely product of PEDs.

12:57
Eno Sarris: That was the other name in my head. But McGwire had the edge in iconic moments I guess.

12:58
Maxamuz: Do Arenado and Cruz hit 40 HR .285ba+?

12:58
Eno Sarris: not Cruz.

12:58
MP: Vogt for Raisel and Swihart? All $5/260 keeper.

12:59
Eno Sarris: yes but I would be tempted to switch out Swihart for a vet anywhere and buy my C on the FA wire / auction because TINSTAACP. (There Is No Such Thing As A Catching Prospect)

12:59
Andrellinis Millancesman: 5×5 who do you want for 2016: Familia, Melancon, Boxberger?

12:59
Eno Sarris: Familia

12:59
timmy L: best estimate for the contract i get after my upcoming showcase?

12:59
Eno Sarris: 1/5, 2/10 to relieve?

1:00
Eno Sarris: Oh damn I had that list sorted wrong! Correa 20th bat without position scarcity in there. I’m comfortable making him a first rounder tho.

1:01
Prince Wednesday: What’s the earliest you’d consider Corey Seager in a 10 team mixed league?

1:01
Eno Sarris: Sixth round?

1:01
Mike: Would you support Ken Griffey Jr. going into the hall with a backwards cap on his plaque?

1:01
Eno Sarris: Of course.

1:01
anon: Can you explain the difference between the defensive measures and what is not included in current measures?

1:03
Eno Sarris: Right now, most defensive positioning stats give the player credit for his positioning because we haven’t known where the player starts the play and because they used to do more of their own positioning. In the future, as we get more data on where the player starts the play, we’ll be able to talk about how far the player has actually gone to make the play.

1:03
Andrellinis Millancesman: NFBC has Correa in the first round so far….

1:03
Eno Sarris: Going from 20th best bat to 10-15 because he’s a SS is fine with me.

1:03
Felix: Yelich or Rendon in a Dynasty league? Both had injury issues last year.

1:03
Eno Sarris: Rendon closer to his upside.

1:03
Matt: Enoooo. Keeper question. Can keep rougned odor for one year at $8, 2 years at $13 each, or 3 years at $18 each? Obvious keep but how long should I extend?

1:04
Eno Sarris: I’ll do two years in case he doesn’t grow past the free-swinging toolsy guy he’s been.

1:04
Marty: People out there seriously dislike unexpected nudity?!

1:04
Eno Sarris: Well unexpected usually means not from the most attractive people?

1:04
Bork: Sosa > McGuire just for his instagram account.

1:04
Guest: Mariners pursuing opportunity in Japan pretty big deal imo

1:04
Kylo Ren: YO ENO

1:05
Eno Sarris: not terrible.

1:05
Eno Sarris:

1:06
Maxamuz: Fearless Forecast: Lucas Duda smashes 63.2 HRs in a year that defies gravity.

1:06
Eno Sarris: That .2 was a doozy

1:06
Drew: Went to the Baseball Savant exit velo list. Aroldis Chapman, in 1 AB with data, has the highest average exit velo of any major leaguer at 108 mph

1:06
Eno Sarris: Too bad in AL.

1:06
Art Vandelay:

1:06
Eno Sarris: That is truly horrific.

1:07
Andrellinis Millancesman: I still see people rocking the classic Griffey black and teal Air Max sneakers around Boston to this day

1:07
Bork: Will you be typing an article on a typewriter in honor of Mr. Chass? Or hook up a typewriter to a computer to do a chat instead? OR MAYBE WE CAN USE SMOKE SIGNALS TO DO A CHAT.

1:07
Meowmix: I read somewhere that Yohan Flande’s scouting report indicated that if you took him to one of those places where you can make your own sundae, that he would often simply load on up on the sprinkles.

1:07
Eno Sarris: oh hey now we rolling.

1:07
Stuafoo: Not to be overly morbid, but why doesn’t fangraphs allow players to, you know, die? Babe Ruth is apparently 120yrs old!

1:08
Eno Sarris: I guess that sort of info doesn’t come through on a database. Kinda fun.

1:08
Guest: RIP Eno’s dashboard in this chat with people trying to send him unexpected nudity

1:08
Eno Sarris: Oh please don’t.

1:08
Keith Hernandez’s Moustache: LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IS BACK. YOU PUMPED, ENO? Or maybe you’re not into them which, while I don’t understand, is perfectly acceptable…

1:08
Eno Sarris: I saw one of their last shows at Terminal 5 if my memory serves me right, and they basically Modern Brian Eno, so yeah I like them.

1:08
I am the Walrus: What round would you take Darvish in?

1:09
Eno Sarris: Pretty close to Matt Harvey last year. 6-8.

1:09
Maxamuz:

1:09
Eno Sarris: auto share

1:09
Eno Sarris: oh dudes. I’m supposed to be on a podcast now. I’ll do a longer one next week!!
