Eno Sarris: I guess they’ll keep all four and just rotate, effectively burning their respective fantasy upsides. I’m looking at Kyle Farnsworth suddenly, he was used in a tight game, is up to 94 on the gun, no need to make Germen or Familia expensive.

Eno Sarris: I like the velocity, the curve is better than it’s ever been because of it, but the change is worse than I thought it would be. He’s okay. Rosterable in almost any league, not sure he’ll be a top 40 starter.

I feel like I should take it, but am having a hard time talking myself out of Myers’ obvious struggles – shades of Lawrie for me, who I kept after a promising half-season his rookie year and held stubbornly for too long. Should i just get over myself and accept this trade?

Eno Sarris: Very interesting. Myers is currently striking out about a quarter of the time, which is maybe a best-case scenario for Springer. He was a higher-rated prospect, but he doesn’t have speed. I’d fall back on pedigree and take Myers still.

Eno Sarris: Gotta hold Calhoun as long as possible. I mean, he doesn’t have top top upside, but .270/20/20 type upside isn’t droppable in most leagues. Bauer does seem better off, and has three (at least) pitches and velocity. He’s got enough upside to matter in mixed leagues.

Eno Sarris: His velocity and swinging strikes are down to career lows and he’s saying he’s hurt. That said, he had the same babib last year and was good. I’d watch his velocity and swinging strikes more than anything over the next couple of games, his upside is obviously rosterable and it’s not like homers are flying out the yard.

Eno Sarris: Yeah he’s Helium Incarnate. I think I was a little too worried about the offspeed stuff and should’ve just looked at the gun. Also, the change is now getting 18% whiffs, which is great. Curve gets grounders. It’s all there except maybe a tiny whiff of long-term issues.

Another single drives home the runner. Next guy strikes out to end the inning. Does the reliever get charged with an earned run, even though the runner wouldn’t have scored without the fielder’s indifference? Thanks for clearing this up for me!

Eno Sarris: Baseball really doesn’t want to get in the business of determining what could have happened. Look at what happens with batter interference and stealing second — guy goes back to first no matter what. Only time they try to guess is on ground-rule doubles and sending the guy back to third, but that’s even got rules.
