Eno Sarris: starting you off with yo momma jokes today

12:00
Comment From Prison Mike
Yo momma is so dumb she named her some Eno

12:00
Comment From Stuck in a Slump
Yo Mama’s so fat, she didn’t understand why people were freaking out in the KFC ‘I ate the bones’ commercial

12:00
Comment From Maxamuz
Yo momma’s so stupid, she thinks Jordan Zimmermann’s last name only has one N.

12:00
Eno Sarris: Start with an interlude today, why not.

12:01
Comment From Stephen
Speaking of sombreros, have you ever had a birthday at a Mexican restaurant and they took a picture of you wearing it?

12:01
Eno Sarris: no!

12:01
Comment From Shawn
Hit anyone else in the nuts with your selfie stick lately?

12:01
Eno Sarris: Only Rich Aurilia, sadly.

12:01
Comment From JLew
Yo Mama – expectations for Matt Moore this year?

12:01
Eno Sarris: Guy with command problems coming off Tommy John surgery, I expect his whip to be bad.

12:01
Comment From Chet
Castillo or Choo?

12:02
Eno Sarris: Choo’s in the big leagues now!

12:02
Comment From Stephen
But of course, I would need to spend as much as possible to be fair. Think Brett Lawrie will have more golden sombreros in the future?

12:02
Eno Sarris: It’s so weird. He goes through stretches of whiffing, but for his career he’s got above-average contact rates. I think he’ll be fine.

12:02
Comment From jocephus

lets get it on!

12:02
Eno Sarris: It’s like the lady and the tramp all over again

12:02
Comment From David
Overreaction, but are you worried by Chris Davis looking utterly lost at the plate through two games?

12:03
Eno Sarris: If he got busted for the drugs last year, that means he was taking them and was bad. I think the fact that people were throwing tons of junk at him was a bigger deal. I’m a little worried, because he’s a one-tooler really. All one-toolers worry me.

12:04
Comment From Bartleby
Am I crazy for thinking that Josh Harrison can be a Mookie-lite guy? Leading off in front of a solid lineup, has shown the ability to hit for average, a little pop, steal some bags. Qualifies at 2b, 3b and OF in my league. … Also it’s possible that I am kicking myself daily for missing out on Mookie. For Charlie Blackmon. Sigh.

12:04
Eno Sarris: Sure, though he hadn’t found what he found against righties last year until last year, so I’m a little worried he regresses most there.

12:04
Comment From Stuck in a Slump
Am I the only one upset that it took Atlanta till the third game of the season to start Maybin over EYJ? Also, am I the only one upset that they’re currently 3-0? My coworker keeps rubbing it in every time they win

12:04
Eno Sarris: Just a crazy small sample thing

12:05
Comment From Ron Swanson

Your momma is sucha homer, if she went transgender she would call herself Jeff Sullivan.

12:05
Comment From Bartleby
Jose Ramirez hit second yesterday. Are we going to see more of this?

12:05
Eno Sarris: I like him! Enough bat to stick around even if Lindor pushes him off the position.

12:05
Comment From jv
Jimmy Nelson gonna be decent this year?

12:05
Eno Sarris: no shares

12:05
Comment From Cheery-Os
Are you starting all of your 55 shares in CC today against the Jays?

12:05
Eno Sarris: Probably not starting many shares no

12:05
Eno Sarris: If it was another team maybe

12:05
Comment From Stephen
Would your hair even fit in a sombrero?

12:06
Eno Sarris: Not fro’ed out for sure. Not really a huge hat guy, though I rocked a visor for a year in college.

12:06
Comment From Shawn
I walk into a deli and order the “Eno Sarris” – what’s on it?

12:07
Eno Sarris: mmmmmm Fried Egg, swiss cheese and strawberry jam? or

12:08
Eno Sarris: maybe something with kimchi mayo on it. or the sriracha honey mustard sauce I made.

12:09
Eno Sarris: or maybe this milk bun meatloaf thing https://enosarris.wordpress…

12:09
Comment From Ned Yost
Sure, it’s only two games in, but Alcides Escobar looks great in the leadoff spot. Any chance he can be a Top-3 American League SS this year?

12:09
Eno Sarris: I doubt he steals more than 35, and he has no power, but BABIP plus lineup order means he’s got as good a shot as Elvis Andrus as being a top three guy.

12:09
Comment From jv
Danny Santana or Jose Ramirez in 5×5 obp this year?

12:09
Eno Sarris: Ramirez

12:10
Comment From Mooking for Love
Yo momma’s so dumb, she wants to know whether to start or sit DeSclafani today?

12:10
Eno Sarris: I’m starting him in anything deeper than 12 mixed

12:11
Comment From John
I know its one game, but jesus christ is terry collins a moron… we saw yesterday exactly WHY YOU DONT BAT THE PITCHER 8th, and it probably cost them the game. One game of the season fine, but when you can’t beat the nationals typically, and they are essentially missing half their starting players, YOU DON’T GET CUTE WITH THE LINE UP CARD! AAAAARRRRRGGGG

12:11
Eno Sarris: According The BOOK, by Tango, for NL teams it does make sense to bat the pitcher eighth to the tune of 1.9 runs per year.

12:11
Comment From Ryan
thoughts on brandon drury?

12:12
Eno Sarris: I like him to take over at second eventually as the D-Backs pick a shortstop. Doesn’t make sense to have two shortstop bats in the lineup iMO.

12:12
Comment From boringdan
You buying into Bauer’s spring? That k:bb ratio is sexy but the homers are a bit alarming

12:13
Eno Sarris: Homers take a bit longer to be believable. And the K/BB was excellent, and I have Kyle Boddy — who works with Bauer — telling me that they worked mostly on command, which other than his changeup is the main thing keeping him back. I have three or four shares.

12:13
Comment From Art Vandelay
O/U 200 Homeruns for A-Gon?

12:13
Eno Sarris: over of course

12:13
Comment From Cronut Burger
Thoughts on the way the Angels and MLB handled the Josh Hamilton ruling? Having a few people in my life who have battled addiction, I feel they couldn’t have been less supportive if they tried. Definitely lost respect for the MLB/Angles after this…

12:13
Eno Sarris: Terrible. Everything they said should have started with ‘let’s get Josh right’ and probably should have ended there too.

12:13
Comment From Bingo Long
I bought a brush the other day, even though I’m bald. I’ve named the brush Eno and I can tell you jopJPOJJ OMG I AM A HAIRWOLF!

12:13
Comment From Ron Swanson

Twins fan…Nolasco getting an MRI and Santana suspended for 80 games.

12:13
Comment From John

12:13
Comment From Stuck in a Slump
Yo mama’s so fat, she wasn’t waiting for a knight in shining armor, she wanted a clown in a yellow suit

12:14
Comment From Eno!
Jeff Francouer, because, BASEBALL

12:14
Comment From Clubber Lang
Yo mamma likes McCutcheon and Greg Maddox.

12:14
Comment From DF
Yo momma’s so fat, she makes Bartolo Colon look slim.

12:14
Comment From THE Average Sports Fan
Your momma’s so stupid she thinks Kevin Gregg is an actual MLB quality reliever.

12:14
Comment From Bo
Yo momma’s so fat, she went outside in a yellow t-shirt and the sun said “I give up”

12:14
Comment From Clubber Lang
Any way off the radar RP’s to look for in 20 man leagues?

12:15
Eno Sarris: here are some guys I own: Sipp, Kelley, Pestano, Fujikawa, Scheppers, Fien, Alvarez

12:15
Comment From Patrick
Which of these pitchers would you drop to open up a streamer option: Quintana, Pineda, Hutchison, Shoemaker or Paxton

12:15
Eno Sarris: none

12:16
Comment From Tom Jones
Given your response on Matt Moore, I’m curious as to your take on Ivan Nova. Are either worth a stash in an AL-only league right now?

12:16
Eno Sarris: Nova had better command at least! I have him stashed once.

12:16
Comment From jk
Eno, if Lynn did develop a new pitch as you suggested, does that affect your projections for him at all?

12:16
Eno Sarris: I think we’d see it in the WHIP projection, as he’d avoid giving up lefties as many homers.

12:17
Comment From DF
I dropped Mat Latos, will I be sorry?

12:17
Eno Sarris: I thought he looked terrible and he didn’t get the velocity back, and honestly, I’ve been afraid of this happening ever since he left San Diego.

12:18
Comment From MobBanfred
Why doesn’t Gerrit Cole’s stuff produce the results it looks like it ought to! Also: why is everything so difficult for me? Why can’t I play the piano like I breathe?

12:18
Eno Sarris: It’s true. I don’t get it. I still think it’s coming, but every year it’s harder to believe. I wonder if the Pittsburgh philosophy is not the best idea for him, or at least not for his CY Young voting results.

12:19
Comment From kris
Thoughts on Gose if he continues to bat leadoff against righties?

12:21
Eno Sarris: Hasn’t struck out yet! We only need another 100 or so plate appearances to believe his new strikeout rate! Just checked. He struck out 24% of the time in the spring, so give him another 75 PA and then maybe we can believe he’ll improve his strike out rate enough to carry a .240 batting average.

12:21
Comment From Stevo
Is Travis Snider this years Brantley?

12:21
Eno Sarris: I mean, he’s not Brantley, not at all, but I do believe this will be his best power year. Brantley was a five-tooler that got aggressive. Snider is more of a power guy that was in a bad park and had to take a reallly long time to improve his approach at the plate.

12:21
Comment From Brad Boxberger
Did you see my new pitch last night?

12:22
Eno Sarris: I did. And I looked it up. And I do think it’s new. There was some debate, but the new curve has like three inches more drop. He’s NASTY.

12:22
Comment From RPR
I’ve got Foltynewicz and CJ Edwards in a deep (16 team, 40-man) no contract, keep forever league. My team’s built for today and I want to flip them. Any idea what a realistic target would be?

12:23
Eno Sarris: I doubt you could do much better than a struggling young guy like Trevor Bauer, or a young guy without much pedigree, like Shane Greene.

12:23
Eno Sarris: Otherwise, go old and try to get someone like Ian Kennedy I guess. Not going to get you a stud position player or pitcher.

12:23
Comment From Peckerhead
Sup Eno? is Vogt and upgrade over Chrinos in a 2 catcher league??

12:23
Eno Sarris: Yes.

12:23
Comment From Stuck in a Slump
According to a USA Today article, Davis took his adderall, got busted and was given a warning and stopped only to take it a gain hoping to not get caught at the end of the season

12:24
Eno Sarris: Okay so some of the time he sucked he was taking it though, I’m guessing.

12:24
Comment From Greg
Which SS prospect gets the call up first this year? Seager, Russel or Correa?

12:24
Eno Sarris: Team says Russell, but for some reason I think Seager. Maybe even to play third.

12:24
Comment From John
Is Kang adjusting or lost at the plate? Is it going to take an injury for an PT?

12:25
Eno Sarris: I’d let this one breathe just a bit. But the Harrison extension is not great. Watch Mercer I guess. I though Kang’s D in the spring was good enough to unseat Mercer if Mercer is a zero at the plate.

12:25
Comment From Stevo
Do you like Eaton more than Span (when he comes back)? Need SB and R

12:25
Eno Sarris: Eaton.

12:25
Comment From Brian
Eno, for a college kid who wants to start getting into IPA’s, what would you recommend me trying first? Should I go straight off the leader boards on beergraphs? Or do you have something else in mind? Don’t know if this helps, but I’m a Bud Heavy fan.

12:26
Eno Sarris: Don’t spend a ton if you’re not sure you’ll like it. And what’s your budget anyway. Go get a Lagunitas IPA. Super solid, readily available, wont’ bust your bank. Lagunitas Sucks is stronger, you might like that, and also only about $7.99 for a extra big bomber.

12:26
Comment From Dave
Anything or anyone you moving up/down based on what we’ve seen so far?

12:26
Eno Sarris: Moving Jace Peterson up a bit since he’s hitting at the top of the Atlanta lineup and took that job.

12:26
Comment From Bruce
Can I as you or crowdsource: What website or app are you using to follow boxscores on your phone?

12:27
Eno Sarris: Still Yahoo

12:27
Comment From Greg
Outside of Ottavino, Giles, Evan Marshall, are there any other holds guys you like that could take over the closer’s gig?

12:28
Eno Sarris: Bullpen report is huge here http://www.fangraphs.com/fa… and I think Soria (Rondon?), Gregerson (Fields? Neshek?), Rondon (Strop), and Casilla (Romo) are the situations to watch.

12:29
Comment From Jared
Please rank: Hughes, Fister, Cashner. Thanks!

12:29
Eno Sarris: Hughes Cash …. Fister

12:29

Why does Steve Pearce look so angry all the time? Even when he does something good he looks pissed.

12:29
Eno Sarris: GOTTA HULK SMASH THAT BALL

12:29
Comment From Manny Ramirez
Yo momma so nasty, she puts ice in her panties to keep the crabs fresh!

12:29

What should I expect out of Nick Franklin this year? Better than Hechevaria?

12:29
Eno Sarris: yes

12:29
Comment From bbchucks
Do you think Adrian Gonzalez will hit more than 20HRs this year?

12:29
Comment From Guest
Cmon Eno, your sandwich has to have some kind of beer component to it. Stout braised beef or something?

12:30
Eno Sarris: yes and yes

12:30
Comment From John
Revere+Kaminsky or Wood in dynasty?

12:30
Eno Sarris: Alex Wood

12:30
Comment From mtsw
Kevin Gausman is a bullpen-only flamethrower in the future and Jason Garcia will be in the the 2016 Orioles’ rotation. Change my view.

12:30
Eno Sarris: Gausman still hasn’t found the breaker and his team won’t teach him the cutter.

12:30
Comment From Eldridge Cleaver
Who pitches more major league innings this year, Danny Salazar or TJ House?

12:30
Eno Sarris: House

12:31
Comment From shashbrowns
Is New Belgium’s Kick (cranberry lips of faith series) as terrible as I had it a few years ago or did I try it before I developed a taste for fruit beers/sours?

12:31
Eno Sarris: Generally the series is good, but haven’t had that one.

12:31
Comment From Els
how long before Miguel Castro is setting up, then closing?

12:31
Eno Sarris: Actually like him and Osuna a lot. Looks like Castro getting more high-leverage usage?

12:31
Comment From Dave
Evan Marshall a guy to cut now that Addison Russell started the season healthy?

12:31
Eno Sarris: I guess so, Marshall didn’t advocate that well for himself the other day either.

12:31
Comment From Snid
Fister for Gattis? Does Fister being the 5th SP bring his value down? Will Gattis ever become OF eligilble?

12:32
Eno Sarris: I think he might and I would take Gattis every day and twice on Sunday.

12:32
Comment From John
so my nl only team has a whip of like 1.6 after yesterday!

Need a SP outside the 100 you like? deep sleeper than could surprise us later.

12:33
Comment From John
Buying Kyle Gibson?

12:33
Eno Sarris: asked and answered. moved Gibson from 131 to 96 in the update, so not sure if he still counts, but he’s throwing the change more and was a k/9 surger in the spring.

12:35
Eno Sarris: Outside of my top 100 http://www.fangraphs.com/fa…, I kinda like David Buchanan (just because I love his change), Andrew Heaney still has a good shot (shape of change is good), obviously Carlos Rodon, I like Adam Warren but don’t love him (how is the straight fastball going to play), and Rafael Montero is a wild card (love his fastball command, slider is okay, change is meh, but the command makes everything work and it *could* work out).

12:35
Comment From John
i jumped all aboard the mccarthy wagon – peripheral stats, time with yanks, plays on a good team. god he looked awful yesterday… am i already screwed?

12:35
Eno Sarris: I mean he struck out nine

12:36
Comment From Greg
Would you starter Dan Norris on the other side? It’s cold in the northeast today…

12:36
Eno Sarris: I’m not starting him until I get more Pfx data myself.

12:36
Comment From Country BFast Boy
Ta-nak-nak done or over-reaction?

12:36
Eno Sarris: Over-reaction. If he can improve the slider just a bit, he’s a 90 mph control guy with a good splitter. Think of him as Matt Shoemaker or Hisashi Iwakuma.

12:36
Comment From Joe
I know he has BB-ability, but are you at all worried about Soler’s K rate?

12:37
Eno Sarris: Yes, a bit, but not overly worried. Never K’ed as much as Bryant, for example.

12:37
Comment From Zack Granick
Who will end the year with the most starts in CF for the Padres?

12:37
Eno Sarris: Melvin Upton?

12:37

12:37
Eno Sarris: SLOW CLAP

12:38
Comment From Pork+Value
Is Devon Travis a top ten second baseman this year?

12:39
Eno Sarris: You know that line from Winston Wolf in Pulp Fiction? ZiPs is most bullish and has him for .244/13/10 rest of the way, and he has been whiffing.

12:39
Comment From mtsw
Which of the following online sports endgames is most likely: 1) FanDuel/DraftKings are outlawed in the US 2) Status quo persists and moneyline wagers stay illegal but FD/DK stay legal 3) Online sports betting is largely legalized?

12:40
Eno Sarris: With the lobbying money now in DFS, I think 1) is very unlikely at this point. The big boys are buying in. I hope it’s 3) but it might be 2).

12:40
Comment From Eldridge Cleaver
It seems like every year we hear grumblings of Manny Machado playing some short stop, do you think there is anything to this?

12:40
Eno Sarris: Not with Everth around.

12:40
Eno Sarris: Just because he can short-term for Hardy, not because he’s super duper awesome.

12:40
Comment From Minty
Is your love for Russell strictly for real baseball, or are you high on him for fantasy too?

12:40
{“author”:”Scott Lauer”}:

12:41
Eno Sarris: It’s real. But yeah, I’m not sure he’ll kill it in fantasy. Might be a Peralta with great glove.

12:41
Comment From Pork+Value
Was Carrasco a product of the Astros last night, or should I be giddy that I have him in 2/3 leagues?

12:41

Always hope my questions make the tweet recap of the chat, but they never do. So: Velociraptor

12:41
Comment From Jay
better post hype candidate moustakas or snider?

12:42
Eno Sarris: I prefer Snider. Moose is showing something with the oppo stuff, though, and I’ll be mad if I was two years early on him. Sometimes it takes a long time to adjust.

12:42
Comment From jocephus
are you at all ashamed that you used a selfie stick?

12:42
Eno Sarris: I don’t embarrass! Really, though, I bought a monopod so that I could do video hits from the field like that Sam Fuld thing, and appearances for 120 sports.

12:43
Comment From Andy
Can you give me a quick rank in an OBP league? Grandal, D’Aurnaud, D. Norris?

12:43
Eno Sarris: TDA, Yasmani, Norris

Eno, my roommate and I recently moved to a new apartment. Ever since we moved in, the light on the ceiling fan in my bedroom has turned on and off randomly. What do you think the chances are that my apartment is actually haunted?

12:43
Eno Sarris: RUN

12:43
Comment From John
Can Y. Petit become mixed leagues

12:43
Eno Sarris: THE SINGULARITY

12:44
Eno Sarris: (I worry that much of what he does is from deception, the third time through the order teams start to tee up on him, and the Giants just started a Triple-A no-name over him…)

12:44
Comment From Joe
With all the talk of beers and their flavors, I was wondering what you do for caffeine. Do you have a similar affinity for espresso beans or something? Also, are you a super-taster?

12:44
Eno Sarris: I don’t do caffeine! I don’t think I’m a super taster, but I’m starting to really see the different tastes in beer.

12:44
Comment From klof
Are you starting more of your fringe pitchers in April than you might in July given the effect of colder temps on fly ball distance?

12:45
Eno Sarris: Offense is indeed down. But on the other side, I want more data before I believe in some of my sleepers. A fringe pitcher with some data behind him already? Sure.

12:45
Comment From hscer

12:45
Comment From Havana Rays
Do you think the Rays should keep Fire-Box as the closer when McGee returns?

12:46
Eno Sarris: They might. McGee a lefty they haven’t really trusted with the role a ton before.

Dude, you need to guest chat with Ludacris so you can have Luda’s Ludes.

Comment From Pork+Value
When will old man Hawkins relinquish his seat to Ottavino? Please say ten minutes or less.

12:46
Eno Sarris: I’ve been hitting that lever like a monkey on dopamine since I talked to him late last year.

12:46
Comment From Dallas
Give Nate Karns another chance ? I’m scurred

12:47
Eno Sarris: On the roster, not in the lineup. The curve is sexy time, but the rest is yo momma joke.

12:47
Comment From Mike
Hey Eno -Who do you think has a better 2015, Graveman or Norris?

12:47
Eno Sarris: I’ll bet on command in a pitchers’ park at this extreme of a comparison.

12:47
Comment From Yo momma
ETA on Carlos Rodon? Worth stashing in 12 team mixed yet?

12:48
Eno Sarris: Worst case, July. Best case, May.

12:48
Comment From Vic
John Sickels commented that the new Giant pitcher, Chris Heston, could be this year’s Shoemaker. Outlandish?

12:49
Eno Sarris: A ton of movement on the fastball. Okay command. Average velocity, up from bad velocity. Bendy pitches, big arsenal. Some opportunity. If Cain is TJing, I might jump. Bought him in my deepest league last night.

12:49
Comment From Greg
Great article on spring whiff rates. Have you analyzed Pomeranz’s change at all? If so, is it real and spectacular or too early to tell?

12:50
Eno Sarris: It doesn’t look good by movement. But I want to talk to him because if he’s got a slider hiding in that curve, it might not matter about the change that much.

12:50
Comment From Jompo Chief Osoyunti
Anything to worry about with Andrew Cashner?

12:51
Eno Sarris: Averaged 96 and hit 100 a ton last night. To me, it just means the ceiling and floor just separated. This could be the year he goes for it and has Cy type stats, with the Ks to back it up. Or it all blows up.

12:51
Comment From Mathematician here
Yo mama’s so fat she makes pi look finite (it isn’t).

12:51
Comment From klof
why do aces always seem to look so un-ace-like on opening day?

12:52
Eno Sarris: Everyone looks a little worse early in the season IMO. D-backs Giants games have not been gems.

12:52
Comment From Bojack Horseman
I have to make a choice about where I attend grad school by the 15th. Should I go to my dream school or the school that’s offering me the most money?

12:52
Eno Sarris: I chose Stanford over Warton undergrad. Didn’t look back (have a nice pricy millstone around my neck though).

Comment From FM
Chase Anderson vs. LAD tomorrow?

12:52
Eno Sarris: yes

12:53
Comment From bro
do you think the rockies heard people talking about how much they like the new Kendrick and got confused and that’s why he started opening day

12:53
Eno Sarris: probably

12:53
Comment From Ray Searage
Eno, our pitching philosophies have nothing to do with Gerrit’s inability to command his fastball consistently!

12:53
Eno Sarris: Except that they are geared completely towards building that command! So that’s weird.

12:53
Comment From Mitchell
tell me why I am a genius for drafting shelby miller please.

12:54
Eno Sarris: Sat 95, threw the curve 80 — both great numbers for him — still in the NL, okay home park, and command looked better but not great. That’s the last piece because cutter curve velocity works with command.

12:54
Comment From Jompo Chief Osoyunti
JOMPO CHIEF COMMAND YOU TO SEND HIM YOUR STORES OF HEADY TOPPER! GLUG GLUG SLURP SLURP

12:54
Eno Sarris: Dude someone, possibly here, don’t know if he wants me to out him, sent me Heady, Sip of Sunshine, and Second Fiddle. It arrived COLD.

12:54
Comment From T-Bone
Any chance the Nolasco injury results in Alex Meyer getting called up?

12:54
Eno Sarris: We can hope.

12:55
Comment From L. Scott
On the Insider show on they mentioned the possibility of making a rule where relievers have to face a minimum of 2 or 3 batters. What’s your take on this idea? By the way, Joe Maddon brought in 3 relievers to each face one batter yesterday.

12:55
Eno Sarris: As a viewer, maybe okay. As an analyst, don’t like mucking around with the rules. Usually leads to weird unintended consequences, and also changes in the underlying numbers that make eras harder to compare to each other. LOL, that’s so selfish.

12:56
Comment From Dallas
Do you think Evereth goes back to the Padres? Seems like a perfect fit.

Comment From Capt Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters
A’s broadcast mentioned Rickey Henderson having a sitdown chat with Lawrie after the magical sombrero, turned around and went 3-4. Is that a perfect personality mentor for him or what?

kazmir was great last night, but commentators seemed to think he was dealing with some kind of nagging injury. does that worry you (more than your normal level of worry for him)?

12:59
Eno Sarris: Great velocity for him. He’s usually dealing with something, but maybe I talk to him about that on Friday.

Any concern with Cecil? apparently fastball lost 5MPH last night. Osuna or Castro worth a grab?

Heard on the Dodger broadcast that the D-Backs wouldn’t “let” McCarthy throw cutters for them. Why do teams not want pitchers throwing cutters?

1:03
Eno Sarris: Orioles wont’ either. They think it kills fastball velocity because the pitchers get around the ball. Haren said he agreed to some extent but his velocity was gone. Jesse Chavez said that too. But not everyone agrees, and it seems you can avoid the velocity loss if you don’t start cutting all of your fastballs. I don’t think blanket bans are a good idea for any organization. Each pitcher is different.

Comment From Reginald Denton III
Anything concern you with what you saw out of Hahn the other night? He struggled a little against an offense that did nothing against Gray or Kazmir.

1:09

So I hopped on your Chase Anderson bandwagon, can’t quite bring myself to start him vs the Dodgers tho, even at home, should I summon more courage? Road dates vs SD and SF later this month seem like a better bet even tho his home/road splits favor home by a large margin. But maybe that’s meaningless at this point in his career?)

1:10
Eno Sarris: If you have an innings cap, on the road in SD and SF are indeed better. I wouldn’t look at his home/road splits.

Lance Lynn was decent Vs lefties last year. How long does it take to say that thats a real improvement?

1:12
Eno Sarris: It’s good that it came with an improvement in K and BB% vs lefties, but the zero homers against lefties is unsustainable. That said, the change actually had three inches more drop in his first start than last year. That could help him keep his gains.

Is it OK to carry 0 bench bats in a 12 team H2H? I drafted a lot of lottery ticket pitchers because I waited a bit on pitching and got Cobb as my #3 late. But I got a bunch of guys like Hahn,Greene Eovaldi, Shoemaker,House,Martinez, even my wishful dream in Brandon Morrow. If it OK to sit on them for a couple months to see who breaks out?
