Does this make you buy into his hot start? If he keeps this up (somewhat) all season, what kind of contract would you expect him to get?

Eno Sarris: He’s such an extreme fly ball guy now though that his BABIP should come down from .280 I bet. I think his defense will still limit him to a two or three year deal, not worth much more than $30 million?

Eno Sarris: He’s so young and has barely over 100 PA at Double A. I know the Sox have a bad third base situation… Maybe they’ll do it I guess. But not till June.

Eno Sarris: I’d do it.

Yonder Dude: Dave wrote about Wood maintaining his velocity bump after transitioning back from the bullpen to starting. Is it pretty standard for a pitcher moving from the pen to the rotation to see an immediate dip in velocity? The velocity gain moving to the pen is well documented, just wondering if Dave was assuming the inverse is true or if it’s measured.

Eno Sarris: Usually you lose but recently we’ve seen a bunch of guys, at least in-season, keep the velo boost. Duffy, Carrasco come to mind first.

Eno Sarris: I don’t think he’s going to walk people like this. Not a great changeup, but the breakers are good. I’m in.
