Gary: What do you see from Benintendi in a keeper? Is he a 20-homer guy?

Eno Sarris: Yes! Probably no more than 10 stolen bases despite good speed though.

Matt: Thoughts on Eugenio Suarez – think he becomes a Jonathan Schoop-esque player or is this what he is?

Eno Sarris: I think there’s a bit more in there. More patience, maybe a better K%, better average, and he does steal bases! I like him.

Brack: I don’t know if you’ve seen much of Luke Weaver, but any thoughts rest-of-season? His K/BB’s in the minors were nuts, though I don’t know if that metric for success translates well when making the leap to the majors.

Eno Sarris: Good fastball, but I wasn’t as sure about the rest of the package. But command of a good fastball is a pretty good place to start, as is that park and that league. I think he’ll be useful/good even if not a star.

Zonk: Every time we write off Jorge Soler, he comes back and starts hitting again. Are you a believer? Do you think he needs to get out of Chicago and find consistent playing time or a DH spot?

Eno Sarris: The defense isn’t good, but this work (plus perhaps a bit more power) is what I saw for him… if he did it over 600 PA, we’d have a .260/25 type guy with a decent OBP. I’d be calling them.

Frank: Can you give Mets fans a reason to be optimistic for the rest of the season? It’s been a rough few weeks.

Eno Sarris: Cespedes should be back soon and maybe Wheeler can help?

SlumDog: Do you map out a pitcher’s ROS schedule when considering trading for him?

Eno Sarris: At this point, yes, especially if it’s not an ace.

Kobe: Eno, how many closers is too many? I currently have a staff with 6 closers and a rotation or Grienke Lester Darvish Matz Musgrove and a streamer spot. I have tried to trade closers for SP but no bites. Am I Gucci?

Eno Sarris: If you have a guy like Tony Cingrani, those guys are actually by straight value below replacement sometimes. The rest of the line can weigh down the value of the steals. I would drop one probably, if one of them was bad.

Sean P : It’s strange to see Tommy La Stella act like such an idiot and put his career in jeopardy. Just out of curiosity, if La Stella played full time at second, would he be an above average MLB player?

Eno Sarris: Remember Ricky Davis? Andre Agassi? Not every athlete really loves playing his sport. I didn’t love editing children’s books, so I stopped doing it. If that’s what’s going on, it’s not crazy at all. And I could see a guy like that, who’s shown league-worthy skills (despite stone hands that might drop him from above average) being annoyed that he’s being demoted just because he has options left.

Is BORK Elite?: Is BORK from Ottawa? Something he said made me think we might be neighbors

Boberto: Hi what are your thoughts on Musgrove? Still being cautious or buying as many shares as possible?

Eno Sarris: I’d buy but sit against Toronto just because Toronto.

GarzaGifs: Any chance Javier Baez can win a Gold Glove? He seems to make a highlight real play every night. The problem is, he does it from 3 different positions, which isn’t how the Gold Glove system is setup.

Eno Sarris: that will definitely hurt him. He should play more LF and get in that shallow pool.

Mystery Team: Can you please comment on Tebows reported 80 grade character grade? Does this push him to the top 100 for you?

Jack C.: I saw a tweet today that Freddie Freeman is on pace for 30 HR and 68 RBI, placing him 5th amongst players with the fewest RBI in a 30+ HR season. I immediately checked out Freeman’s splits and saw he is batting .213 with RISP this season. Yuck. However, his OBP is .390!!!! Is this just the classic example of pitchers working around a team’s best hitter and focusing on the other hitters in Atlanta’s awful lineup?

Eno Sarris: Classic case of crappy team.

Thom: I own Bumgarner in a keeper league. I’m more than likely not going to make the playoffs was offered Kershaw for him. Even if Kershaw doesn’t return would it be wise? And how close are those two as far as value when healthy. Thanks

Eno Sarris: Quite the quick turnaround. I think they’ve actually been a model for a big market team. At least this year, they accelerated the rebuild quickly with a few good decisions.

Matt: Jose Ramirez. Next year, he’ll have 2B, 3B and OF eligibility – assuming he plays one more game at 2B. If he plays 5 more at SS he’ll retain that. Good bench peice moving forward next season, or can I look at him to start somewhere?

Eno Sarris: He should start at third, which makes him a decent top-15 second baseman I would bet. Pretty good player.

Tommy B: I saw you post a picture of Carl Edwards Jr.’s grip last night, any fun insight from your conversation with him? His stats in a limited sample are ridiculous.

Eno Sarris: Maybe I’ll write up our chat as a short thing today, but there wasn’t a ton there. He didn’t know how he got that strange cut-like movement on his fastball.

Bub: How long does Maine Beer stay fresh? I’ve had a Lunch sitting in my fridge for a couple weeks trying to find the right time to drink it….

Eno Sarris: I was very surprised by this. I suppose some contenders with better records would have taken him, maybe.

JD15: La Stella thought about retiring before the year and he resisted so he could play with the Chicago Cubs not Iowa or another team. Clearly personal stuff going on so a little rough to call him an idiot.

Eno Sarris: Yeah, personal stuff, or maybe baseball’s not for him.

Dan: Why when I go to depth charts do they not accurately reflect WAR numbers throughout the season? Example: http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=ALL&teamid=17 Bryant has 1.7 total WAR, but 5.7 on his player page.

Eno Sarris: Very weird. It’s basically all fastballs if you call his cutter a fastball. But each fastball has distinct, interesting movement, and he has good command.

Eno Sarris: Yes the Red Sox are amazing. The Blue Jays are second in runs in the American League, and have the potential, especially at home, to put up huge numbers any night.

Closers: Who is your favorite non big name closer?

Eno Sarris: Diaz?

Rasta: I know you’re high on Fulmer but do you see him as a $10 keeper in a 12 tm keep 6 league?

Eno Sarris: Yes.

SadPressConferences?: Where does Carlos Gomez get drafted next year? Also, Ian Desmond?

Eno Sarris: Late rounds. Like Bench rounds for Go Go. He probably burned half of fantasy. Desmond should be a second/third rounder, but I may not end up with him because I find his batting average riskier than some might.

John: For real tho….thoughts on John Jaso’s hair

Eno Sarris: My hot take: it’s fine. I live in Northern California. I’m used to white boy dreads. Plus, I like interesting and different.

JR: In a dynasty league, I ended up with too many closers. Which ones would you try to trade: KHerrera, EDiaz, SDyson, TWatson, CAllen? Holds is also a category.

Eno Sarris: As much as I like Dyson, he has the worst K rate of the crew.

Steve: Is a big diff in fastball and changeup velocity necessarily a good thing?

Eno Sarris: After movement, it’s the second-most important facet of a changeup if you want whiffs.

Billy Beane: Jharel Cotton was one out away from a perfect game in his last AAA start, yet Ross Detwiler is in the A’s rotation. This is because…?

Eno Sarris: Wins right now don’t mean much to the A’s.

Rick Roll: I’m pretty sure there can be a thing as too much changeup differential. Eventually it becomes less convincing as a fastball.

Eno Sarris: Adrian Beltre telling me that looking for high fastballs made him a better hitter against breaking balls low and away.

Eno Sarris: Yes. I would guess the hope comes from contact rate improvements and perhaps some power growth, into league-average type.

JR: What do you think of Daniel Mengden? Enough stuff to be viable in a mixed league next year?

Eno Sarris: only if he comes up and throws better out of the stretch and keeps the walks down, and even then as a bench piece you like because of home park and some interesting stuff.

Eno Sarris: Manaea.

kvothe: What pitch combination plays better for a starter: 2 plus pitches and one average pitch, or 4 pitches in the average-above average range?

Eno Sarris: Given average command, the first one. Given plus command, the second one. This is not backed by research.

Eno Sarris: As much as I love Nola it might be a 2/2/3/5/7.

Eno Sarris: I actually watched a few sets alone and ran into some people. Had never done that before, and it was okay! I got to see exactly as much of each set as I wanted. Shamir, Anderson Paak, Twin Peaks, Royal Headache were great. Digable Planets disappointed, Beach House and Brian Wilson were terrible.

pirates hurdles: Caminero’s fastball sucks, it is crazy flat and he refuses to throw it inside. 99 out and over the plate isn’t all that hard to crush. He was never close to having a high leverage role on Pitt and justifiably so.

Eno Sarris: Yeah I’ve stepped off the gas on him. His splitter, he doesn’t throw it enough or have enough overall command to be one of those 40/40 fastball/splitter guys either.

Eno Sarris: Sometimes when a guy transitions to starting, he either stops throwing a pitch he can’t command, or he can keep his body parts in the right place if it’s just for an inning.
