Eno Sarris: I’ll tag them with a tag so you can find them on the bottom right of the blog. Finding a league… you could claim an existing ottoneu team, so you don’t have to do the crazy draft. I think there’s a board for finding ottoneu people too. Facebook/twitter/your office for finding a league too?

Royals get a bunch of AL Central garbage teams, so they seem like a pretty likely WC. What I’m trying to say is stay strong A’s fans, you’ll get to see Bud Selig ignore the existence of your team in the postseason yet again.

Eno’ is Eno’! How do you feel about Saves+Holds replacing Saves in a 5×5 H2H dynasty league? Chasing saves is fun/frustrating but holds provide value to a larger subset of relievers.

Eno Sarris: I like it. I know people hate the fact that it’s adding one ‘garbage’ stat to another, but the only other choice is doing away with both and using K9 and that devalues starters a bit. It is a choice though.

Eno Sarris: (and in practice, using K9 does weird stuff. like it actually makes top pitchers more valuable while devaluing solid pitchers like Cashner)

Eno Sarris: He’s always had a great change / curve combo, but the fastball is no good. Maybe he tried pitching low in the zone and then everyone hit all the homers, and now he’s mixing it up with high in the zone? He has a riseball. It just goes 88. Bad fastball guy.

Eno Sarris: Nope, they going to keep him for one more shot with this front office. I don’t think the BJs are that screwed. If Stroman gets one more partner at front of rotation (Norris or Sanchez), it’s a decent rotation. And with Rasmus and Janssen gone, they have $10-15m to spend on a 2b/3b. A good year from Lawrie makes the lineup deeper… there’s a chance here for something like the O’s this year.

Eno Sarris: Mauer probably not a catcher next year, but don’t sell low. Odor doesn’t have a spot really. I’d be staring a hole into Norris though.

Eno Sarris: Do you come here often? Practically every week I argue with someone over this. I love their rotation. They’ve had a 92 wrC+ over the last month. If they can push it to 95-98, they can make that pitching work. So they need an incremental upgrade in LF most of all, and power. I just don’t like Cuddyer’s possible asking price, and if they can’t sell Colon and/or Murphy for cost savings, they won’t have much money and it really will be just Willingham.

I’m certain I would dislike just about any hitter-for-pitcher deal the Cubs made with the Mets. It’s a pitching rich environment in baseball right now, which makes the hitters in the Cubs system even more valuable. Far better to throw money at FA pitchers than to throw hitters around in trades.

Eno Sarris: You generally improve your K rate until about 25/26. So that’s the pro-Baez argument. I’m just worried that the plate approach is so bad that it won’t matter. Then again, if Chris Davis actually could play D, it might not have taken him so long to get a chance.

In an fangraphs pts league (w/$400 cap) what’s the price above which Kershaw becomes too expensive. He’s so so so good in that format. But this year can’t be repeatable, can it?

Eno Sarris: I think stars are keepable up into 60-70 bucks if your team is competitive. I had Strasburg at 53 this year just to make a run. Came up short at fourth, dropping him and get to spend at auction to get the team over the top.

Ah, I misremebered. I’ve got Kershaw, Abreu, Rendon, and J.Upton pretty much locked in as 4 of my 10 keepers, debating on the Old Vs. Young thing for the other 6. I’ve got a Bogearts, Betts, Bryant, Soler, Pederson, and Buxton group…or a Braun, Ellsbury, Reyes, Waino, Hamels, Arrieta group.

Eno Sarris: I think I’d finish up with Betts Soler Braun Ellsbury without too much heartburn. So that leaves Waino Arrieta Hamels Reyes Bogearts Pederson Buxton Bryant for two. Good luck lol.
