Thoughts on what type of triple slash Yelich will consistently produce in his prime? What about a potential career year?

Eno Sarris: I think the career year will look like .280/.360/.480 or something, with 25/20. I like him a lot. The ‘bell curve’ problem will be batting average and strikeouts, in that he’ll have to grow into a better batting average and it will fall off again at some point.

Given that they’re facing off tonight, I can only choose one. Can you look into your crystal ball and tell me which one I should start in hopes of getting the most strikeouts?!?

Eno Sarris: I’ll bet on Gausman because of the Yankee lineup.

Are there any quirks that fantasy owners should expect on the final day of the season? Are players on teams headed to the playoffs more likely to sit, play a few innings, or play the full game like all the others?

Eno Sarris: So man quirks. Pitchers will be shut down. Stars will take a seat before the game or early in the game. Final day sucks. I even think if you’re blowing up your innings by streaming a ton of pitchers, it’s better to do it on Saturday than Sunday.

I’m not sure if you can answer this, but you’re my best hope! We use Yahoo for our keeper league, and I know that they count all statistics accrued on the day you hit your positional cap, even if you go over the maximum on that day. My question is in regards to hitting your innings limit, and what happens if I have 0.1 IP remaining going into the final day of the season. Does Yahoo round it to 0 and prohibit me from sending out my pitchers, or does that 0.1 let me suit up my arms and “cheat” the system? Hope that made sense and thanks as always for your help!

What is your take on Rougned Odor for next year and beyond in real life and in fantasy? His 20-y.o. rookie season has yielded a 92 wRC+ and 0.6 WAR compared to Profar’s 2013 20-y.o. rookie season of 75 wRC+ and -0.4 WAR, with a possibly similar power/speed mix.

Eno Sarris: Yeah and a setback for Profar. He’s inching towards actually having a job in hand in my projections.

Yan Gomes is the __ best catcher in baseball.

Eno Sarris: The strikeout rate is creeping up again, the BABIP makes me a little nervous, and I don’t think his framing and blocking skills are elite. Still, by WAR, which doesn’t have some of those things in it, he’s third. I’ll make him a top-five guy. There are some elite framers that are decent otherwise (like Martin and McCann) that might deserve to crowd in with him.

I finish the season with 14 HR and 80 RBI, having missed a month with injuries. So why does my name rarely get mentioned as a good fantasy producer? What am I worth in a 2015 AL-only league?

Eno Sarris: Miguel Sano is the problem. At least in the second half next year. Plus, he’s right-handed, so some of that comes from murdering lefties. But I’ve owned him some and think he’s a great 5-8 buck guy.

When an umpire is consistently calling a wide strike zone (or any other such anomaly) throughout a game — what’s going on there? Is he actually seeing things a different way, or just trolling both teams because he’s bored?

Eno Sarris: Might be his setup. The closer in he can get, the more space the catcher gives him, the more everything looks like a strike I think.

What are your expectations of Mike Minor going forward? Worried that his injury history is going to mean we see less of 2013 Minor and more of 2014 Minor.

Eno Sarris: The homer issues seem legit. I think 4/1.3 with a decent K9 is what I would envelope project for him.

Eno Sarris: Cutch because speed with SLG is tough to find. Rizzo because I love him. No pitchers. Altuve I guess, then you can load up on sluggers?

Eno Sarris: No and then I won’t have a wild card game to cover. Although it is interesting: The Giant’s and A’s may have a similar issue: play your stud to get home, where you play better (and your opponent is worse in the case of Pirates and the road) or keep the stud for the game? The A’s have more bullets though, and so are likelier to send Gray to get HFA.

Eno Sarris: Nice. Damn. I’m a little worried about Dozier’s batting average never being better, and as a high ball hitter, he’s dependent on mistakes for power. Makes me want to maybe take Yelich and Betts, with Mesoraco making the choice harder for Betts.

Eno Sarris: Tough one. Sometimes the cookie crumbles the wrong way. I’m in 12 leagues this year, all sharps. I’m going to win three I think. In one, I’m bottom half, but it’s frigging TOUT and I’m last. Competitive in the rest. I’ll say 60-75%?

The Braves…with our mid market payroll, and the contracts that have really limited our spending for next sending, could trading Kimbrel be an option? Another year of dominance, below market contract for next four years, and demand for certainy in relief seems to make him very attractive. I dont want to give him up, but it seems it may be the most effective way open payroll and get needed pieces.

Eno Sarris: The old Braves way was to find a closer every year. Al Pena! Kerry Ligtenberg! So if they find an old school Braves Wayer, it’s not crazy.

Eno Sarris: I think the Sawx may trade for a starter, but I think they may use some of their guys like Ranaudo and Barnes to get a younger, more years of cost cotrolled starter.

Eno Sarris: It’s too bad that he’s now had a major elbow event (TJ) and a minor shoulder event. He has good command and uses a wide array of pitches, and hasn’t thrown as much as other young starters, but he has the injury asterisk because of those two events.

10 team dynasty, roster 30, keep 20. If Buxton stays healthy in the AFL, I’m planning on keeping him. Would keeping Sano, over say Taveras, be a case of keeping too many prospects?

Eno Sarris: We can’t say everything about Taveras’ future, but we can say that Buxton’s ceiling is probably higher. In a ten teamer, it’s all about ceiling. So that decision is okay for me. Sano has ten-team slugger upside too. You can find relievers and SP4/5s in your ten-round draft.

Eno Sarris: The things he does don’t have great value on the open market, at least not the framing (look at Jose Molina’s deals). I think they’ll keep him.

Eno Sarris: I *squinted* and saw .275/18 in him, maybe with 5 stolen bases and decent defense in the COF. It’s enough to keep him out of real-life bust territory, but fantasy?

Eno Sarris: I mean, I feel like I’m missing the need that these trades will have to remedy. I like their pitching, and they getting more back next year. Their lineup strikes out too much but they have a couple options at second that could improve that, and maybe you could move one of those guys to center. Center and third base aren’t great. I suppose you could target a CF or a 3B, but it’s kinda hard to pry those guys away.

Jon Niese seems like a guy that should have good trade value. Excellent team-friendly contract, lefty starter, very good first half and not too far removed from some good seasons. Is his injury risk really so great that his trade value has tanked?

Eno Sarris: Great winter trade guy, when memories of injuries have faded a bit and he seems like a good bet for 180 innings again next year. (I’m trading him if selling Colon/Murphy and spending $15+ m on a COF situation is not working out).

Eno Sarris: To me, yes. The oblique hurt his power. I could still see a baseline projection of .275/15/20 next year, which is great at his position.

Eno Sarris: Not sure if this question will post — internet issues — but will David Robertson accept a QO? I think they’ll give it to him and that will hurt his free agency status, but there always seems to be a team that’ll pay for a closer (Detroit?).

Eno Sarris: I talked to him at beginning of season about that specifically, and he said it was all about bulking up to survive the sloughing off that happens to him over course of season. Said he loses notches on his belt buckle every month. I suppose everyone could try it, but it doesn’t work for everyone the same way.

Eno Sarris: I’d say it’s out, also because he’s played so long at third, and they’ll probably need to think about ss as an early-season thing either way, so they’ll probably just get an ss.

Eno Sarris: It’s hard to admit you have to go to a ‘trick’ to make it, I guess. And Wilson told me that everyone in the clubhouse has a knuckler, so not all knucklers are good.

What kind of upside does TJ House have? Seems like an extreme ground ball pitcher with his stikeout and walk rates has some potential to be more than the 4th or 5th pitcher many people project for him.

Eno Sarris: His secondary pitches are good. He’s a soft-tosser, though, so I figure homers on the road could be an issue. Is it okay to call him a 3/4?

have you heard of / seen any research on umpire performance based on pitcher arm slot? it seems that pitchers who throw across their body or use a strange arm slot can gain some level of advantage on the hitter, but if the hitter has a harder time seeing it than the ump might too.

Assuming all these guys play and pitching matchups are somewhat equal, which 4 should I be starting out of heyward, de aza, ryan zimm, pearce, cuddyer, blackmon and gordon? Any obvious must starts, for example cuddyer against lefties?

Eno Sarris: Blackmon at home versus righties, Pearce versus lefties, deaza versus righties are all great matchups, with Cuddyer versus lefties i there. Otherwise, I’d probably just start Gordon and Heyward, unless they got crowded out by all the other matchups.

Eno Sarris: Usually a guy like that is being used in the best situations. So, for example, Turner is playing mostly against lefties. He’s a righty. So if he starts playing against righties, you’ll see more of the true talent Turner, which is probably not an everyday starter. (Definitely not, really.)

Somehow stumbled on Wilmer Flores Z&O contact rates since he’s been the “full time” shortstop. He’s at 90% for both.. Is there anyone outside of a juan pierre type who does that? I feel like that’s incredibly uncommon especially with his ISO potential.

Eno Sarris: Not obvious to me what they do, which I think is a good sign. With Ramsey, they have an interesting outfielder coming. With Lindor coming, they could move Chisenhall or Kipnis to the OF. The rotation looks nice. I bet they work on the fringes. Hopefully find an Axford type that works. Maybe get a Colon type (not suggesting a trade).
