“Patna, let’s go half on a sack!!!” Legendary background music.

Kind of ironic that Oakland-based rapper Luniz’ “I Got Five On It” is playing in the background.

Too bad there’s so much background noise, but this is a fantastic interview.

Interesting what he said about hand size. Too bad we don’t have data about hand size, because it would be really cool to see what the relationship is between that and horizontal/vertical movement. I wonder if it’s true what he said about guys with smaller hands having more lateral movement.

I’m aware that background noise has been an issue with several of these, and I’ll do my best to limit in it in the future. The issue is that many of these are conducted in the dugout prior to BP — usually the most-convenient location — and music at ballparks is, quite simply, loud. Not NBA arena loud, but loud enough to negatively impact audio recordings. In this specific case, the music started at almost the exact moment that Wilson and I sat down to record.

I just fell in love with CJ Wilson. SABR LHP. Fangraphs, go measure people’s hands.

Funny, I always thought he was an idiot after complaining about how many pitches/walks the A’s take against him (coining the infamous “lawyerball” term). In light of this, perhaps I misunderstood him.
