Most North American sports fans are at least aware of the celebrity executives in each of the big 4 sports. I have zero interest in the NFL, for example, but it’s hard not to know about similar guys like Belichick and Elway.

I don’t think Elway’s fame has a lot to do with his career as an executive…

I am enough of a baseball fan to read Fangraphs and an even bigger basketball fan, but if I tried to list all the GMs or GM equivalents in MLB and NBA, I’d probably only get a little past 40. Some of us just don’t care all that much.

Also, I tried to list current NHL players and got up to… four. Some of us just don’t have an interest in hockey, man.

Why was there no disclaimer that there would be no baseball talk? I just wasted an hour listening to this, waiting for the conversation to go to baseball. I demand a personal apology.
