FanGraphs Audio: Dave Cameron Analyzes All Baseball
Episode 204
FanGraphs managing editor Dave Cameron, as per usual, makes his weekly appearance on FanGraphs Audio and analyzes all baseball.
Discussed:
• How the Oakland A’s have outscored all other teams in June — and why such a thing has happened.
• The Kevin Youkilis trade, a lot about that.
• What Josh Hamilton, Dayan Viciedo, and Jason Heyward do and do not have in common.

Carson Cistulli has published a book of aphorisms called Spirited Ejaculations of a New Enthusiast.
Looking forward to finding out how my team pulled it off myself. Off work soon. Listen on the walk home. I’m thinking they hit the ball better.
I was hoping for info on how costs $9 in, “The Game” since there must be something Dave knows that I don’t know.
I was right! 🙂
1. Crisp – Is hitting after hitting around .150 before June
2.Weeks- has been walking more as Mr. Cameron pointed out, hitting in the 2 slot more as well
3.Reddick- was actually slumping in June until the last week.
4.Cespedis- you guys will get his name right sooner or later, been DHing upon return little over a week ago
5.Smith- when playing in the field hitting over .300 with all of his dingers
6.Inge- The lovable Inge has resurrected his career at least for this year
7.Moss-Was super hot but isn’t doing anything last couple games
8.Suzuki/Norris- I put both because Norris already has more homers then Suzuki… in 3 games!
9.Pennington-has been hitting better, but the way he played before June, that’s no surprise.
Others contributing have been Gomes, Cowgill…both hitting over .300 in June, and the last week Hicks has joined the fray and had a couple doubles and RBI’s in 6 PA’s.
It’s all encouraging to say the least.
I have loved the A’s since 86 and after being away from the game since 2006, I am really enjoying this season(understatement). MLB.TV is playing a big part in that as I can follow the A”s whereas I could only see them before if they played the Jays(as I live in Newfoundland), there being no MLB.TV in 2006.
Your guys site has played a big part in my new found love of the game as well. Living in Newfoundland, there isn’t much baseball, it isn’t even played in the schools. Only Hockey.
Keep up the good work guys!!
Go A’s!!!
HAHA. Cespedes!…maybe one day I will get it too. 🙂
